Fuck yeah. I have a mildly modded 5.9 magnum in my truck and 5spd NV4500.. it only puts out 400hp, but sounds thunderous and beastly. I also have a prius plug in, and that sounds like a mosquito full song.
Super cool car man. You must be proud of it. I am sure taking care of it in Europe is a challenge. I have a 68 RR with a 383, but not near as fast as yours......
It is the better engine. Sturdier, revs Higher, better rod Ratio, slower Piston Speed, less weight, less bearings drag, more reliable, longer lasting. Pro engine builders choose the low deck for high HP builds.
hmm let off the gas pedal between shifts,,,could have won that race. also youtube suggetsed again and i see 5k launch and goes down to 4k? then climbs. should it be consistently pulling from 4k Launch on instead of 5k, with a bog or clutch spin ,it down not act like tires spinning with rpms imediately climbing. But overall this was a very nice race
The 383 is magic from MOPAR. Its the V-8 of the slant sixes and the world would hate to see that V-12..... Yeah lets ditch that phoney V-10 and just do it right. V-12 Slant.
I was thinking the same he only hit 5500, I'd like to know how he's geared now and If it's something he drives mostly and hits the track too or if he plans for NOS to make up for it?
Granny shift? There was nothing wrong with what he did here. Even if he had power shifted, he probably still wouldn't have taken that dart. If anything, switch to a race preped 727 automatic and dump the stick altogether.
Look at his left foot; no double clutches. Look at his right foot, let off between shifts. Power shifting this 383 4 spd would have been the last ride!
