Try to start early from Pune especially if you are planning to travel on weekdays to cross Thane and Mumbai city traffic and to connect with Mumbai - Ahmedabad highway. Continue on the same highway till Varodara and from Varodara you can take detour towards state highway 5 which will save your time. This state highway will take you from Godhra bypass and completely skip Ahmedabad and connect you with NH 48 which will go straight till Udaipur cut. It is an easily locatable and you have to take left from Adani CHNG station which will come after Balicha village. There is another route via Nashik which is a bit longer. Fuel is cheaper in Gujarat so you can refill your tank twice while going to Udaipur (Ist after entering Gujrat and IInd before entering Rajasthan). b. Take Pune - Mumbai expressway as it will save sometime. c. Thane traffic - This will play a very important factor in deciding your time of arrival in Udaipur. (We took almost 1.5 hrs to cross thane) d. Ist Break - Take your first break after either you enter Gujrat (pack some go to snacks or fruits) else take breakfast after crossing Diu bypass or atleast Thane. e. Fuel budget - My car gave an avg of 15 kmp/l. So consumed around 59 Litres. I have a petrol car and if I avg out petrol prices then around 6K worth of fuel was consumed. f. Toll - Toll expense will be around 1K majority will be due to Mumbai Pune expressway. If you take Gujarat state highway which I mentioned above then there are no toll taxes on the same. Hotels to Stay - If you are a history buff and want to explore Udaipur fort then we recommend you stay in old udaipur (near lakes). The hotel we stayed was in small distance from major attraction. Car parking is a bit issue as majority of the hotels near by lake does not provide dedicated parking so either you have to park your car on road or there is a common parking area near Kathi pol. (This is near by above mentioned hotel). 2. To travel in Udaipur city avoid taking your car and get an auto. Special chats @Arora chaats and Namkeen Our overall expenses approx. - 25k-30k for 3 people for 4D/3N stay at Udaipur and two day travel by road.(excluding shopping). Bhai, nashik to chittorgarh via ratlam pata hai uske alawaa koi aur route hai to woh nahin pata.

Hotel does not have a dedicated parking. You need to either park the car on road or in a common parking area which is 500 mtrs ahead.
