I had planned this trip last autumn but then we were put back in lockdown. so we replanned for spring...and the same thing happened! Finally at the end of September it looked like I was able to go but then I forgot a vital necessity.
Join me on my eventual road trip from Positano to Lucca where I stay with my long time friend @chefceline1 and visit the lovely Marie from @authentictuscany. We also have a couple of very unexpected last minute guests that you might know!

What a beautiful city Luca is! When we were outside I imagined it to be all cramped and crowded with buildings, and it was not! Such lovely wide streets and the walkway on top of the wall is just lovely. Another great vlog from Nicki❣️

We have been back from Sorrento for a week now, and already miss the place. I heard that there was thunder and lightening the week after we left, how lucky were we to get such lovely weather for our two weeks there. Oh I loved this video! My husband and I stayed in Casa Columba in Vicopisano in August. We'd been corresponding with Marie for over a year as we were supposed to go in 2020. Marie and Lorenzo are the best hosts and it brought back so many memories to recognize the exact places we were at. We climbed the fortress before the staircase was opened and the little cafe you stopped at during the rain was just getting ready to open when we were there. I look forward to watching you and Carlo visit later this year. Thank you Nicki for all your videos. Love your channel.

Great vlog today....so much fun. That is really awesome to have a friend for so many years and you can always pick up where you left off. That dessert look delicious oh and the ice cream too!! I don't know how you do the stair climbing. Even though it is gruelling to get up and down them, your heart, lungs, and muscles are all thanking you in unison. Hi Nicki, I've been watching your videos for a year now and I can't believe that we are going to Sorrento in a few days. It feels like I've been to the Amalfi coast already. If it wasn't for your videos showing what it's really like living there, I might not have come to this area of Italy at all. This absolutely sounds crazy because I am a homeless American living in Florida but I want to move to Italy so badly. Everyone lives with such passion and Italian is such a beautiful language. I actually started learning to speak Italian through a language app. The food looks marvelous, especially the sweets. For now, I will just have to experience Italy vicariously through you and Carlo.

I can only remember a bit of Lucca mid September, the wall and the towers we climbed up. We walked every where. We base in Firenze for a few days and did satilite day trips to Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra and many other towns on top of hills so many called Monte... It was so nice of you to share Nicki. Really enjoy your trips. 10 Oct 2014 was our last day in Itally Como and Milan before a cramped 23hr flight home not much fun with my long legs.

Everywhere you go in Italy is so beautiful & your friends are too! Had first seen the vid of you & Celine at a villa where she prepared a meal for a group. Then to see Lucca & Sara join you all was so nice too. They announced their baby Luce was on the way. Yes there are tradeoffs for living in Positano but personally I think they out surpass living elsewhere. The world is so divided that if we took some of the dolce vita of most Italian life how much more content we would be. The people atmosphere food and just enjoying is wonderful. When we visited Lucca we thought it a charming city. Thanks again Nikki for another lovely adventure and sharing your friendships . When I watch your videos I feel like I too am one of the girls. Love when Nicki travels and shows us new stuff. Everyone in Italy travel brags about the beauty of Lucca, but I've never seen one iconic photo of the place. I'm sure it is pretty, but maybe the beauty has to be lived rather than simply seen. I love when Sara and Luca guest star in a Nicki video. I also love seeing Nicki share quiet time with old friends. So sorry to hear Skye behaved like a stubborn, spoiled brat and refused to get the milk. I've raised a child or two, and I know obstinance can come with that age. Skye is an absolute beauty, a goddess, but shame on her for disrespecting her fabulous mother. I can't believe Nicki forgot to pack her laptop. I felt the pain of that mistake. I hope she added the day she lost, and I can't wait to see more. Definitely missed Carlo and his drone talent, especially for Lucca. Nicki is too talented a producer not to learn the drone. She needs to be more patient and persevere, the same way she learned to wrap the onions.

This was a great video but what I didn't expect at the end was Sara and Luca (whose video I was going to watch next)! That's too funny. Oh ugh! Walking up 500 steps and forgetting something! The wall in Lucca is fascinating- so wide. Never expected that! Nice to see Sara and Luca- I already knew the surprise. They are also on my watch list. I have been packing light (carryon size) for years now. Still amazes me how heavy the bag gets especially with the electronic stuff!

i was in tuscany about 10 years ago in the town of lajatico - i was there to see andrea bocelli perform at the theater of silence. it was magical!

Thank you Nicki. What a fun trip. I love Lucca with its walled city. Last time I was there we rented bikes and road all around the city on the wall. So nice you were able to meet up with Sara and Luca. Take care and be safe. Ciao 👩‍🌾

Suggestion: Put checklist by the door for everytime you leave the house. Purse, makeup, camera, laptop, things to drop off, list of groceries needed (check fridge), etc.
