What a PERFECT movie, I wish all the people who hate it without reason or without having watched it, know that this is not an adaptation of the 96 movie
A lot of people have immediate knee jerk reactions without taking the time to research what they’re criticizing. An honest downfall of people I would say
The choreography from this musical LITERALLY WILL SMARK THE NEXT GENERATION OF DANCERS‼️‼️ MY GODDD IT WAS SO AMAZING SEEING SOME OF THE MOST TALENTED KIDS GO OFFF‼️ KUDOS TO THE CHOREOGRAPHER AND HER TEAM YALL DESERVE AN AWARD FOR BEST DANCE SEQUENCE IN A FILM‼️‼️
I LOVED this adaptation, as someone who grew up reading the book first, i feel like the movie perfectly captured the quirkiness and fantasy of the story. The era is kinda vague, the mom and dad are no good, the Chalk writes on the chalkboard. All the proper things happen but we get new fun things, like a mobile librarian who is a friend of Matilda's. Or scenes that show us inside of M's imagination. Imagine if she got to be friends with Anne Shirley-Cuthbert. They'd write the next great novel in 24 hours
@@andreasanchez1453 the book is fabulous! There's several audio versions with different narrators but make sure it's the book by Roald Dahl. I highly recommend you read or listen to The BFG, the Twits, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach. Such good books with peculiar writing
watched it without thinking much but every music scene stunned me in the best way possible! the energy is amazing the cinematography is amazing the choreo is AMAZING
I would have been screaming praise and clapping like a mad man for them at the end of every single take. I cannot imagine! I have watched the movie four times in three days because I love the choreo most of all! It's an absolute master piece.
I’m surprised how people don’t know that there is an actual Matilda musical and that this is not an adaptation from the 1996 movie. Like- that’s why it’s different
My jaw is on the floor at the performance of those kids. The amount of work required to get the dances to that point is already stunning, but the energy they put into the performances is hard to get my mind around. They must have had an amazing culture on the set. Truly a joy to watch.
watching this film was absolutely incredible, the children were splendid. i watched this for months. i wish i could get this on dvd seeing as i no longer have netflix
I just saw the movie. AMAZING. I just had to find the girl with the red hat. She was so powerful. Here in this video I found her name. I am going to follow her career :) I loved the musical and was a bit scared if the movie could live up to it. It did. What a great movie. Great great work by all the amazing kids.
the dance numbers really made this for me. I know they changed some elements from the play, but it worked for what they wanted to achieve and if you want a deeper story there is always the original matilda movie which holds up well and gives more character building to Miss Honey
I LOVEEEED EVERY BIT OF THIS MUSICAL! My poor ass couldnt afford to watch the live one that’s why im so happy netflix did this huhuhu I am blown away by Alisha Weir. My fave would always be her storytelling scenes. And come on, the children are perfect uughhh you guys have to watch it!
No AI could ever replaced over all these beautiful little sparkling stars. Thank you to you all, the choreographers and the production teams for all your hardworks. ❤
I see this as an amazing start for kids who want to have a clip of themselves for acting. Opportunities like this to get connections and friends don’t come along like this. These kids worked their butts off and made the movie amazing.
I was damned amazed at the talent of all those kids in coordination. Especially Meesha Garbett in that tracking shot in the hallway. She freaking killed it. my old ankles and knees just ache at the sight of all that.
@@rlojhan It’s so-so. The messages music and energy of the kids are barely enough to hold it together. I would recommend it for the middle school or high school theatre kids around you.
I just watched the movie yesterday. It was great! I loved every minute of it and I'm not even into musicals like that. the talent on these kids is amazing.
Call me silly but I must confess that I didn’t believe the children really did the choreography. I thought they used adults as stunt doubles. The kids were so energetic, I felt a little jealous. Imagine growing and remembering that you once did this AS A CHILD. Just amazing. That blonde prefect was perfect. She reminded me of the girl in Sia’s music videos. The plump, cake kid (I’m not good with names) was on fire! Gosh, I can’t believe how impressed I am by the kids. I almost still don’t believe they really did it themselves.
The acting is beyond anything I have seen in kids, yes there are some excellent kid actors, but nothing as talented and dedicated as these young fellers. The cinematography was insane, the set, props, soundtrack, the musical numbers, and the choreography, all combined made this movie a film to watch for months. I grew up reading the book and the movies/theater productions that were made, this movie captures all of those in just over 2 hours.
I would literally pay to see the B-roll of them doing the parts in practice cut into a sequence for every major act. These kids are so god damn impressive.
Huge, accurate sets should be the norm. Harry potter did it, lotr, house of the Dragon, and now Matilda! Let's employ creative architects and contracters more often and I honestly think we'll have more beautiful movies. This movie was intensely good, i didn't have a dry eye through it. And it was mostly kids acting and dancing and they did AMAZING. There is probably only 5 adult actors in this film and its fabulous.
Its amazing and wholehearted that they used so many kids, it must have been so fun on set. I had always been neutral with movie adaptations of stage musicals but this movie is amazing. A really good adaptation and must watch.
The Prom was the first time since Mamma Mia that I’ve seen a stage to screen adaptation. Then came In the Heights, Tick Tick Boom, West Side Story and now Matilda
I just watch this film today and it was absolutely freaking fantastic I think that it might be better than the actual Broadway musical I know that the Broadway musical came out first but this was freaking fantastic if you haven't gone and see it yet and you're here watching This little short behind the scenes clip go watch the movie now It is fantastic I am probably going to rewatch it 12 billion times because it is absolutely freaking fantastic I cannot rave about how good this movie is absolutely fantastic
Literally my favorite RU-vid video ever the movie is jsut so good and children are so smart I could never I play Roblox and my whole avatar is the trunchbull😂
