Old school crowdwork is fine but if youre going by total laughs its constant and hardy laughter. Theres craft but laughs are the true measure of an act. Im a musician so Im only a comedy appreciator not a pro, but I feel the same way about music, technique is great, form is fine but if the music is shit none of that matters. In other words you can be a mediocre musician and a great entertainer, and a fabulous musician and have nothing but shit sets. I imagine comedy is similar.
