Tbh I would be 100% down for bookshelf reactions without the roasting!! A good roast is always fun but not necessary. I also just love seeing different people's bookshelves and collections, so I'm mostly just like you and marveling seeing what others do with their shelves. So no need to try and force yourself to roast things!!
Maybe you should rename it to a combo of "toast or roast" as Gavin toasts on nice shelves 😂 but you saying "oh no i should be roasting" is hilarious. Also, I can just imagine Daniel reacting to you praising funko pops and double stacking books 😂😂😂 Loved it, pls reconsider making this a series ❤❤❤ its fun🎉
Kathy Reichs writes the Temperance Brennan series that the TV show Bones was based on. The main character is a forensic anthropologist. So, yes, they're mysteries with a scientific twist.
This video was so fun! You should absolutely give Keeper of the Lost Cities a try-the later books do drag a bit, but the characters and worldbuilding are delightful.
Finally I get to be a part of something! ❤ Thanks so much for including my shelves in your roast Jesse! Yep my bookshelves serve for books and any other nick nacks. I don’t have my series in order since I’ve done it before (alphabetical order by author, by genre) but I like to change up the order so the book collection feels new. Yes, Reese’s are my favorite too! 😊
HA the flipping bird was a christmas gift from my roommate she truly loves me lol. but we technically share that bookshelf so the top few shelves are her (and my) childhood favorites. as for the dead plant.... i do not have the heart to throw the corpse away HA
my bookshelves are at 9:02 ! space is definitely tight in the dorm lmao 😭 the frankenstein shelf has other books on it bc those are my other all-time favorites !!
I would love to see more videos with you reacting to bookshelves. I enjoy all the positive things you have to say about the way others choose to home their books. You are one of my favorite Booktubers and I appreciate the time and thoughts that go into all your videos.
the warrior cats collection made my heart so happy. I loved them as a kid so much and I probably will never get over these books. They were my first obsession ahh ✨💖
Yes, please do more bookshelf reaction videos! I love listening to you talk about books and bookshelves. I couldn't roast anyone either. I just want everyone to be happy. :D
You haaaaave to read the Keepers of the Lost Cities!! It’s a long series (and still in progress) but since it’s middle grade you can fly through them. It’s basically wholesome Harry Potter without the terf author 🤗
As a warrior cats fan, the people who hate warrior cats the most are the fans themselves 😭 It’s def a “I started these when I was young and now they’re a huge part of me but as I grew older I realized the writing in this absolutely sucks but I’m still fond of them because of the nostalgia” situation
OMG! Mine is the bookshelf with the Adventure Time funkos! Thank you so much for picking it and for the roast lol. We love someone who can appreciate Funkos and Adventure Time!
i LOVE this!!! especially love your first impressions raving about the bookshelves and then (maybe) a line 'roasting' before continuing to admire them 😂😂😂 more please!!
I just started Keeper of the lost cities in the new year and it is a commitment but OMG IT'S SO FUN AND SO GOOD! I was just pulled into the world and it's reminding me of when books pulled me in as a kid. I am loving them. Go into them looking for a fun story with some mystery and magic.
Okay, as an adult Warriors (Warrior Cats) fan, I highly recommend them. Start with Into the Wild, which is the first in the Prophecies Begin series, the first series Erin Hunter wrote. If the first book doesn't hook you, that's fine, but the majority of fans will tell you the first series is the best. It definitely feels full circle by the last book of the first series. After that the other books are good too, but there's a specific order to reading the others. Anyway yeah, please feel free to try them~
This was super fun!! I think this is really good for you to get out of your comfort zone (hopefully you like it too) and you get to talk about multiple different things like design choices, book choices, what you still need to read, etc. I’m just feeling like I’m seeing another side of you I don’t get to see in other videos and I’m really enjoying it! ❤ Edit: while I do enjoy the idea of Bookshelf reactions, I also like your attempts at trying to roast something and doing your best 😅
This video definitely had me chuckling. It seems like you would have so much for fun just doing a bookshelf reaction video, but I'm not going to lie it was hilarious every time you had to remind yourself that you were supposed to be roasting the shelf 😅
Hey, I'm the first one you roasted! Agreed, keeping the books in boxes is very Inconsiderate! (Thank you, the move went well, soon I'll get to set the books free on my new bookcase!)
hahahaha I love Daniel's series, I actually came here because I have seen all of his and was searching new ones.... I LOVE YOURS, is the opposite but in a fun way, you are adorable.
You really should read The Keeper of the Lost Cities!!!! The series looks giant but for me it flew by SDO QUICKLY! I was near the end and dying for more!!!!! The story will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions that never ends
I’m so sorry but I was ready to send you pictures of my bookshelves and…then I completely forgot. Maybe I’m not ready to be roasted, maybe it’s Maybelline
KATHY Reichs, not Kelly. She is a forensic anthropologist by trade, and she writes crime/mystery books. Very prolific writer! She was one of my mom’s fave authors.
I've been reading the Warrior cats series since the late 2000s and I have some THOUGHTS on the series lol to sum it up though, it's ok? The first 2-3 arcs plus Dawn of the Clans and some of the earlier super editions are decent to good, but the newer books really need more time between books to really flesh them out. That, or they need to be trimmed down to 3-4 books instead of 6. I could definitely go on though lol
I, an og fan of Warriors, can definitely recommend the first 6 books of the series 😂 But wouldn't recommend reading further than season 5, I guess. Personally, I'm too long into it now for me to quit 😅😂
Well I'm a fan of warriors 😺 and if you don't want to get into a ginormous series go for Erin's smaller series like: Bravelands in Africa, Bamboo Kingdom🐼, Survivors about dogs🐕, and Seekers about bears. 🐻❄🐻😺
Haha instead of roasting shelves you could do a "what I assume about you" personality analysis or something like that based off of the shelves sent in 🤔That would be fun to watch. Oh my gosh I was commenting this as you started talking about this same idea 💀
