dedication bro that’s why wayne used that word for his albums. something i need to work on. we won’t always be inspired to go out and do stuff so instead we have to be disciplined enough to and be dedicated to what we do
That's a good point: skate parking does seem to be closer to the ground and I think that's part of what's brought me back into the sport. Coming from the 90-00s era of skating, it was all about big sets, big gaps, big rails, or bust. Now, people seem to love either the steez in a simple trick or something more tech.
Hey John, I have a video idea. I just watched “Elf” for the first time and there’s a scene where Michael gets a skateboard from Santa. Santas book says he wants a “real huf skateboard with high 145 Thunder Trucks, 52mm spitfire classic wheels and bolts”. Thought it was funny that they actually said real parts and pieces. You should ride it and see if the kid had good taste. As usual, loved the video. Happy Holidays John!
@@JohnHill It’s during the scenes when Santa’s sleigh has crashed in Central Park! The book is only shown for a second or two but you do see the board after.
The amount of work you put in skating while doing the video portion talking explaining and show the rails transitions and all the lines you can session… props you’re a dedicated man I enjoy you’re videos . Keep that passion alive brother
Skateboarding has got to be one of the hardest sports to be consistent and good at! Coming from a snowboarder that can hit 90% of rails and double backflip and more in the park! So fun to watch!
Your videos always make me want to skateboard again. I think back in the day, they were trying to replicate dimensions of street spots - and that’s why it’s so big.
Always interesting seeing how park development has improved over the last twenty years. Parks built today are so sick and the one my city built us back in 2001 when I was 17 is sooooooo dumb, lol. Also, I think you mean "disproportionate," but I was following and see how goofy some of those obstacles are.
Front tail to fakie!!!! One of my favorites. I had them on lock and would pop out so good. The pop out was my bread and butter for that trick. Doubt i could even do a sloppy tail now. Havent skated in years
I love getting to my office job and eating breakfast to a new John Hill upload. Keep killing it dude, as a non skater.. I am a huge fan of anything you do.
that final 50-50 was impressive, fun video my guy. as someone from small town middle america i WISH my town could get like a quarter of this park, currently it has absolutely nothing. a long time ago it had a flat rail and 2 wooden quarters and they called that a skatepark, that was like 15+ years ago though
I know this spot, that's the skatepark right next to Dorsey. John coming here to the hood is something I never expected but I'm glad. John, if you see this, you should go skate at Rowley skatepark in Gardena. It's a smaller skatepark in terms of size, but it's a great park for lines and ledges. It even has the flat bar you were looking for
Wow, I forgot u; could sk8 like that: I would've liked to see a "flip trick" off the Manny pad(when u did manual down? 😅 But those obstacles are big! And your flow was on point.
If you ever come to the uk there is a really big skatepark i think one of the biggest in the world called oxhey skatepark it has some cool features i would say go look it up
Dude, that oversized square rail-hubba thing down the 3-flat-2 is proper street level rail steez, it's huge!! Get comfortable on that and it should up your street rail game big time.
What do you mean. I posted skate tech terminology less than 24 hours ago on Facebook and tagged random skaters. 20hrs plus time zone lag.... naw skaters definitely be on timing.
😂❤ I know my skate techs and I know when I'm supported. We know time lag is real and I've been talking about my skateshop for years lol. Let's reopen CT Bike. Make me manger! Aren't Renki from Skate8 the animation?
I’m so upset because I’m at a ski resort and they have a skatepark here but I didn’t know so I didn’t bring my board and it’s also snowing so I can’t skate and now John’s videos are all I have 😭
Dude, you have no idea how good you've got it in SoCal. There's honestly like 5 good skateparks in the whole Bay Area, and you'd definitely call all of them gnarly. I skate transition, so I love them, but a really good plaza skatepark like that is rare.
The real name of this park is “Rancho” and it’s in the heart of bps territory (bloods) like down the street from where training day was filmed do not go to this park alone or late at night.
Haven’t seen you for like a year or so. I seriously hope everything is okay In your life. I’m not trying to be rude or a dick I just oddly care you made me love skating again. But you don’t seem as uppidy as I remember I just hope mentally and medically you’re doing fine man. Best of wishes and I hope your career keeps taking off.
Could have been the lighting in this video but just what I saw and don’t wanna see another legend go down a bad road. Just know your fans care or subscribers or community everyone does care about you.
Kind of random but anyone reading this comment remember a place called the Burden Lake Bowl in upstate NY? Also known as the Albany pool or bowl. Legendary location
Rob built a skatepark in city, Shreveport, LA The city stole half the money and made the worst excuse of a skatepark. Rob told them to take his name off it.
You guys have no idea how much it cost for excavation grading, rebar, concrete, building permits, labor, dump fees Tools, time steel for the rails. They build something to last forever. It has to hold up to the winter.
