To all of you in the comments celebrating sobriety, congratulations. I lapsed after 14 years in may of 2021 when my husband died. I know I'm making an excuse and i shouldn't it was my own doing. Lately i have noticed that it's becoming an everyday thing and i don't like it. Tomorrow I'm going to wake up on day 1. You all keep up the good work and God willing I'll be back in the club.

January is a hard month. Among many people I've lost my husband's best friend to suicide 6 years ago, and two days after that my cousin succumbed to his addiction. He was tortured, and I'm sad he felt he couldn't get the help he needed. My husband has been sober 15 years. It's hard. You're strong. You can do it. We DO love you.

Just wondering, what did you do to make yourself feel better... happy, when you gave up. And what did you do after that to relax and look forward to that time of the day, or weekend hanging our with mates. Don't have an alcohol problem but a pill problem (that I need after 3 back opperations and can hardly walk, but I don't want this problem. I want to look for another way). Message me if you have any advice, although I understand if you don't have the time in this post Covid climate.... cheers mate.

That's Awesome !! A lot of addicts wait too long to quit and it becomes too late to quit when they end up overdosing and dead. I am one of those people who spent most of his adult life as one big non stop party and didn't at the time think I'd ever be able to quit but after doing just a few Months in County Jail it got me used to not getting high every day so when i got out i packed my bags and moved out of State down to North Carolina in the middle of nowhere where I didn't know anybody and I've been clean ever since. 10 Years Clean. If you're an addict you know you won't be able to quit if you don't get yourself out of that situation you find yourself in on a daily basis. You need to escape it and get as far away from it as you can otherwise the same old bad influences will see to it that you don't stop using. You know who they are. So called "friends".

Three years in over here...Prior to, I had a palm sized piece of my skull removed due to a brain infection and put back seven months later, a dozen or so major seizures, having to cut off like 95% of my friends due to them bumming me out, etc, and this stuff isn't easy to deal with to say the least. Like, you lose your whole life, and it's not easy to bounce back. You will lose your past life and friends. That part is hard to accept, but you'll gain a much more positive life and group of friends later on. I wasn't even a junkie or something. All that I did was party/hit the bar scene like three times a week, so my condolences go out to any of you that are using some hard drugs garbage. It's not easy to go what you're going through, being strung out, but stuff will domino if you man up, grow the hell up, get through it, get your mind together, and just say no. I've experienced too many friends overdosing and dying. Just stick with weed if you absolutely need something. Man the hell up instead of being a beta male and just stop messing up your life, as well as your loved one's. Hard drugs are for weak people, and you are not a weak person.

Those of us who are in recovery and have been in recovery and have years of sobriety, even days of sobriety are a fraternity of weak people who discovered an inner strength to overcome a demon that will never die, but can be kept at bay. There is almost nothing as hard as breaking the inner cycle of addiction. 37 years is a huge thing to celebrate. Rob. If you ever read this. I wish you.well and applaud your 37th year in the fight. You are the God of Metal and not only am I a huge fan of Judas Priest, but also of you. You have been a pioneer of many things and sobriety is just one of those things yet it's the most important. Without sobriety you could not have achieved the things you graced us with in Judas Priest. You are a shinning example of strength and perseverance. I love you Rob and keep up the fight. Thank you for your strength and for just being you. Always Jon from NM.

In a listened to the Preist since childhood and I've had a drug addiction since that same time. I am still struggling to this day and I wish I could find the right measures to help me quit but I keep screwing up my opportunitys because I am having a very tough time and am not able to find any way to cope. I am a self medicater and people make it out as if I am just suppose to stop without any support or assistance and it's hard to say but I just don't think I can do it alone. Robs message was beautiful and to me this is a speacal time when I can look at a device and see one of my favorate singers/musicians give everyone a hint of hope, I could have never experienced this when I was younger. It really makes me astonished that Rob would take the time to give a personal message to everyone and put himself out there for us all to have a moment with someone we have shared many years of entertainment with and I am lucky to be here to experience this and I will try not to waste this support in its own way. I can do it it's just I have nothing and no one to give me anything or any kind of support. It's kinda hard when you have no one, nothing and are lost I don't think people understand. I've been using since I was 11 and I started with benzodiazepines and got to high does. I don't know what to do but I gotta try and if I don't make it know that I loved all of you and I tried but failed. I don't want to fail at this but I think maybe I am just saying that and deep inside I dont wanna stop, dear God I hope not because I don't want to be lost forever. Be well and stay sober please this comes from the source you don't want or need drugs take it from a guy who's lots literally everyone and everything hes ever loved or had and am alone with nothing. All my love and don't give up!!
