I dont know about the product, but I do know that usually the thing that the product might not be so perfect is hid with amazing players like this guy. Awesome.
@BledsoeBluvd IN ANY IMAGINABLE WAY! you can put it straight to ur amp and mic it, you can conect it via usb, you can conect it to a mixer and then to the cpu, you can conect from the earphones output to ur pc's or Mac mic input, you can conect the L/R outputs and mix them... tons of posibilities
Played through on of these things at the San Francisco, Guitar Center. It has a feedback setting that I REALLY LIKED!I Its like an ungodly amount of gain. Did not make me sound as good as Rob Marcello does. Amazingly easy to use and the sounds and tones are amazing. I want one!!!! $499!
Yeah man, Rob is very under-rated...he's much much better than many "recognized" guitarist out there. This guy's one of my favorite guitarist. I'd love to learn some of his techniques. Rock on!!!
Nice Rush type tone at 4:50. That chorus blows Line 6 products right out of the water. Line 5 also has that unnatural note fade thing going on with all their products. The GT-10 looper is a nice feature for creating. I'm sold and will looking to pick one of these up.
Rob is really a versitile and much undernoticed guitarist. I was just rapping with him at a guitar show last weekend. He's the most unassuming guy to meet in person. I played a little at his demo, and despite the fact I can't play worth shit, he showed me the greatest respect.
Man, this guy is a wizard. I just purchased the GT-10 and have to say, it's a fine piece of gear for sure. You just have to get into deep editing on it to get the tones you're looking for. The more time you spend on it the better. The only thing that would have been better for editing the GT10 is Boss putting out a PC based editing software. It would be much easier to do deep editing. Come on Boss make some software to edit this unit on a PC! At $500 for GT-10 it should have editing software.
These actually sound really good when played through a nice clean amp. RU-vid's compression and low audio quality doesn't give them a fair show. They actually sound pretty warm and organic when set up right.
aside from being a great guitar player, Rob is probably one 1 of the most down to earth guys you'll ever meet.. when i used to work at Sam Ash music in the chicago area, he used to come in w/ the roland rep. about 2 to 3 times a yr and demo new boss stuff for us sales guys in the guitar dept..
I have the x3 haven't tried the other but i did a lot of research, basically if you're looking for the best tones go for the pod, if you're going for effects go for the gt - as for recording, the X3 is great for it thats ones of it's specialties if i remember
I can hardly help since I just got mine a few hours ago and still need to figure it out! but from what Ive seen I got some great sounds from it,including distortion...I love the preamps and can't wait to play with the harmonizer :) Good Luck! Try the factory settings for now.
This piece of gear would make a most worthy upgrade from my current digitech RP21d & nicely compliment my just recently ordered (and still not shipped) Roland GR-55. Oh yea.... pure excellence comin my way.
hell yeah especially the spider III series you can get any and I mean ANY tone available and even create tones never heard before (trust me Ive tried EVERYTHING you can think of woth the spider III) Line 6 all the way
@linuxguy2009: it sounds quite like this when you use headphones ... but set this beast up on an amp and sound like this through the mix is a hell of a job ... You can bet a crew of engineers helped Rob to set up the tone here, i wish the same crew in my room to help me out as well :)
I use to use Line6 only but I recently grabbed a Boss GT-10 and it has much more tube bite than the pods and many more tonal options. I even liked the Boss ME-50 which is cheaper than the GT-10 and easier to use. Ofcourse if you have the extra cash grab a GT-10, you will fand any tone you need in these things. Hope this helps.
@linuxguy2009 Most of the tone comes from your fingers..This rig and his EQ settings sounds a little thin, however, still sounds good for a lead tone, not to mention,he plays SUHR GUITARS..these things are 3000plus...top notch. Nice guitars make a big difference as well.
BTW, I meant to say the GT10 wins in tweakability. Let me say, I was NEVER a fan of Zoom or any of their products...until the G9 came along. Its almost like they made a mistake and made something good. The input jacks on the G9 are metal and seem pretty sturdy.
Yeah there should be, on the me-70 i just turn off all the effects completley and turn the cosm amp models down to off and thats it, but if thats not quite the answer then iv no idea.
ok is freaking easy: press SYSTEM, select PDL CALIBRATION, depress the heel of the pedal and the message OK appears... Than depress the toe of the pedal to set the max and appear OK.... Now you're setting the PEDAL SW.. Firmly depress the toe of the exp pedal with the force that you want to applicate to switch... after this passage you can adjust the Threshold with the Dial and you can try that... when you think is ok just press CATEGORY/ENTER... you can download free the manual in bossus site
Blimey! I thought I was begining to make progress on my guitar. After watching this guy I may as well give up!! I know it's all relative but he can play ANYTHING! Yours worryingly, a slighty more depressed guitarist ! ;-)
@linuxguy2009 Actually it does dude... You need to learn how to really get into the deepest parts of the EQ to get that kind of tone but it's a great pedal... He's working for BOSS so he obviously knows where to go for those kind of sounds... He's also using a custom Suhr guitar which is the pinnacle of quality so that gives him already a great advantage... Trust me, it's a great unit. It's just like any piece of pro gear, you need to know what you're doing before you can reap the rewards...
HEy, I have a GT-8 and it sounds perfect to me! Do I really need to exchange for a GT-10 to get more sounds? I don't think so but... does anyone already tryied GT-10?
