@@IslandTopTeam I also did not know that this was actually you! Haha thanks for replying. Amazing performance, I love how you were constantly on the offense. Kitchen had zero time to breathe. I gotta go back and watch your instructionals again now haha.
The announcers said "head and arm choke from the side", but from the video, it looks like neither of opponents' arms were against his neck. Looked like it was a strangle between Rob's own chin on the side facing camera and Rob's other hand on far side of neck. Maybe someone can explain it in more detail, or say what it is called.
@gaetanmarcelin9813 Oh we're definitely friendly, we were chatting in the warmup room before the match and afterwards, I just wanted to be clear that I wasn't looking to be disrespectful in any way whatsoever.
road house choke. rob says it legal but based on ibjjf rules. "When an athlete strangles his or her opponent ,without using the gi, with one or both hands around the opponent’s neck or applies pressure to the opponent’s windpipe using the thumb." i dont care about ibjjf but my club does, so im trying to justify how i can practice this choke
@@IslandTopTeam but the rule clearly says one hand around opponents neck OR pressure to the windpipe. I can't see how your choke can be legal...I think the referee just doesn't clearly know the rules.... which I think are so stupid btw
@goku-pops7918 The hand isn't around the neck though, it is posted on the front of the neck. It has been used at very high levels with very knowledgeable refs monitoring the matches and no issues. I agree that the rules are silly, and there are definitely some refs that will interpret it as being in breach, but according to the exact language, this variation should be legal.
@@IslandTopTeam is there any chance you could put out a video making your case clearly how it doesn't break the rules. I think it will help your sales alot, and it will be something I can send my training partners after I submit them hehe
