A very tender treatment. I appreciate both versions more now. An intimate incarnation from a powerful and steady Rob Thomas. Even the improvised guitar-drum adds vibrance while not taking an ounce of compassion. Absolutely Superb.

Don't compare, that's always obvious. Rather try looking at it as someone who loved the song and wanted to show their twist on it. That's what I love about SiriusXM studio covers by other artist. And I thought it was a cool twist on one of my Favorites.

I never really liked this song, it just feels so ...hopeless? Makes you want to grab Jane by the hand and take her away from all that bleakness and ugliness that surrounds her. But with Rob singing it, the song is filled with a spark of light. It's like Jane really is gonna be okay. She'll be fine.

The haters aren't recognizing that this song is such a solid masterpiece.. it would be hard to fuck up. A beautiful song no matter who's singing it. Perry is a lyrical genius.

I liked it! You see some artists just like to do covers of their favourite songs. It doesn't have to rock. But I liked the smooth, mellow tone that he followed. Well done!

Thank you Rob Thomas for a kickass rendition of an iconic tune which I am now using when I play this song acoustically. Musical genius is taking a great song and not trying to copy it, but to make it your own. What a disaster it would have been had Rob Thomas tried to do this song in the original key and tempo. It takes a special kind of falsetto only possessed by Perry Farrell and female vocalists to pull off the range in the original key. But Rob Thomas took the essence and spirit of the song and sang it in a range that works for him and highlights his own excellent vocal tone and power and he nailed it!
