Rob Thomas performs "Unwell" at Uniting Lyme-Free World Gala 

Thirty years chronically ill, repeatedly misdiagnosed; diagnosed with Lyme disease and confections a year-and-a-half ago, after becoming homebound and bedridden a year-and-a-half before that, due to the severity of pain and other symptoms. Just tonight someone shared Marisol's speech with me, so eloquently and sincerely giving all of us a voice; and then this video was in my feed. I cannot tell you how many times I have listened to this song over the years as I endure ever increasing debilitation. I hope for relief, comfort, strength, healing and peace for your wife and all those who suffer from this heinous disease and its many complications, and for strength for the loved ones of those who are afflicted.

I love how his voice breaks and there is no auto tune to fix it. Pure talent, pure music, pure emotions. I love his singing so much. 😊

no one get's it until they get it. I have lyme disease and many coinfections, I passed this horrible disease unknowingly to my 4 kids. There is not a day that goes by that this horrible disease doesn't affect our lives. There is nothing worse than seeing loved ones in pain and feeling helpless. When my kids are crying and asking why doctors won't help them, or believe them. I research hours and hours each week trying to figure our mess out. how to stop their pain. This song really hits home. There are so many levels of grief, a big one is the grief you go through trying to say goodbye to who you were before you got sick. Lyme disease is a life change. I went from being social fun person, to unable to leave my house most days. I am fighting for my life and my four kids and it is taking everything from us. Including time and memories no amount of money can ever replace. This song is so on target of these feelings. Thank you for all lymies around the world for being an advocate for this disease. I have always applied this song to me because of my fibromyalgia for 30 years. Childhood PTSD, anxiety, fatigue, and the 200+ symptoms of fibro. Now my visual vertigo has been labeled after having it for over 20 years. Sibo from when I was 6 and my appendix exploded and had 4 hours to live. The bacteria stayed in my system that long. I'm 50 this next month. Not a happy one sorry to say. I'm In more pain than ever and finally stopped working 3 years ago when life allowed it but I still cant get disability because I worked for the last 27 years of having it because I raised my daughter through it all. People wonder why we are still here with chronic pain...I'm wondering too.

I’ve been going through one of the hardest times in my life in the last year. This song just resonates with me so much right now, it’s been on constant repeat for months. This song has always been a favorite but it hits differently when you start aging and becoming sicker. This line in this song has kept me going lately, it’s truly what is keeping me going. “But soon enough you’re going to think of me and how I used to be ME.” Since I’ve been sick, I don’t feel like me anymore, and this song, in every way possible reminds me I am still ME. Rob is on the very top of my favorite singers and always has been. Just the very fact he is singing this at this event, for his beautiful wife, whom you can tell he loves more than his own life, gives me so much peace and respect for him as a person. I know I’m fangirling here, But this man and his music has gotten me through every single hard time in my life. Love you forever Rob. ❤

Hope the world gets to understand this and learns to be more empathethic with this kind of conditions, less judging and more comprehensive, because non of this is just in our heads, as they use to believe "we're not crazy we're just a little (or very) unwell". staring at the ceiling... yup seem like all I do on my bad days when I can’t get out of bed while life goes on without me. I feel like I can’t be the mother I promised my self I would be due to Lyme and 4 other co infections. If only my doctor would of listened to me and not tell me lyme is not in Indiana and telling me to stop looking for a diagnosis. But when I finally was tested years later I was cdc positive! I’ve lost all faith and hope in medical doctors. I want my life back that Lyme has stolen.

Rob Thomas you have not the slightest idea what your wife, you and the band have done for me. I was sick for 6 months, jumping from ER to ER. Test results were all over the place. My liver shut done, kidneys on their way. My head was swollen. Doctors, nurses, even friends and family thought I was psychotic. Most people turned their back to me, thought I was either looking for attention or on drugs. Doctors just administered morphine, prescribed oxy, hydro, Valium, Xanax... I had a prior “issue” with narcotics so I was beginning to walk on thin ice, almost walking on water... Finally was diagnosed with late state neurological Lyme disease at 19 years old. I was on antibiotics for 6 months, 2500mg a day. I still have symptoms like terrible migraines, some days I barely have the strength to make a fist, but anyways your wife’s strength, your determination to stick by her side... after myself being diagnosed, I began to search to find anything and everything about neurological Lyme disease, always was a fan of your music, but after understanding the meaning behind your lyrics, it meant so much more to me. You BOTH were my strength on the good days, the bad days, the in between days, the “I don’t know” days. I can not thank you enough for helping me fight the battle.

My husband of 25 years left me to fend for Lyme by myself,alone. I’d raised 3 children, homeschooled them was home taking care of my kids for 20 years before I became deathly ill with Lyme. I was treated like I was crazy, that I didn’t try hard enough. His lady Is a runner , because of course running and flaunting you’re abilities and ignoring your dedicated wife’s needs are less important than winning marathons. She’s never even had children never been selfless. Seven years now, now I barely can move without strong cannabis, marinol or Cbd. I now have neuropathy and have late stage Lyme. My life is hell and I can’t afford to go to doctor, because when your spouse leaves you and you’re to sick to work, you lose affordable insurance. My deductible is 7500 a year . If I pay it I’d be homeless. I used to go non stop, I volunteered, I visited sick, I taught really taught all lessons , not homeschooling or computer like they do today. I cooked twice a day sometimes three, my house was very clean, Lyme steals everything, but reveals so much about others around you
