To me he looks younger I think during his heyday he used a lot of make up for his shows that made him look creepier and older, he's just now growing into it.
Rob gets a lot of natural laughs out of Rogan, which most of his comedian guests even struggle to do. He’s a very natural, entertaining guy to listen to.
Rob Zombie should direct a Twisted Metal movie. EDIT: Just watched the Munsters trailer... Forget about it. EDIT: Watched the series. It was pretty good! 👍 not as dark as I wanted it to be but it was pretty entertaining.
it will never happen he said that dr satan was cheesy and didn't make sense thats why u dont see him in any other films he said that in a documentary !
I'm upset about Sid's passing and I think it's strange that he went to the hospital with injuries from a fall and he died from a lung infection that is fucking borderline negligent care causing death I'd look into it if I was his family something is not right there
@@razkable filming was completed in 2000. They had to resell the movie and the negotiations took time. I think you can actually tell the movie was filmed in the 90’s, even tho the film as a whole was ahead of its time imo.
My buddy in high school (now a Jeopardy champ BTW) said Rob Zombie was an example of what happens when a really smart guy gets obsessed with really dumb things.
@@andybaxter4442 Your buddy is insulting Zombie by saying he wasted his potential. Zombie chose what he wanted because he enjoyed it. Too many people try to people please and have lost the ability to even want things for themselves besides what others dictate we should want. I went through a stage in high school where I actually thought about this and it hurt to know that I was one of those people. I don't even know if who I am and what I want now is me or just what I think should be me after that realization. It's sad, we shouldn't have to lose ourselves because society wants us to be a certain way.
8:00 "I used to be upset about the reviews until I saw who wrote them." Rob, you're speaking what my heart feels and what my mind can't even put together.
Quentin Tarantino respects himself too much to be on a Joe Rogan podcast. You obviously know nothing about the man if you I want him here with Joe f****** Rogan.....
@Iceman 23 maybe he saw my avatar and assumed I'm a pro second amendment American? I can't imagine someone being that butthurt over me complimenting the devil's rejects and it's epic soundtrack. We're clearly dealing with some kind of hysterical, basement dwelling SJW
I’m not a huge fan of his music, and some of his movies were misses for me, but Rob Zombie has always seemed like a real genuine guy, and he is talented for sure. 1,000 Corpses is a fun, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2/Eaten Alive style throwback and considering around the time it came out, it was nearing the end of the bloodless, teen-slasher craze, it was a nice change of pace. Also, he definitely progressed with The Devil’s Rejects, I love all the location shooting they did with that movie
Universal Studios: "Hey, let's make a movie with Rob Zombie called HOUSE OF A THOUSAND CORPSES!" Then it wraps and they're like: "WE CAN'T RELEASE THIS!!" What the hell were they expecting? A skeleton dangling on a string, and a candle floating across the room...also on a string? With a theremin? LOL
I guess those guys were expecting something like “Scream” (which was released 4 years earlier) and “House” was not that at all. And ironically then, Universal would release “Hannibal” a year later after booting Rob and his producer and everyone out in 2000.
I loved the first two White Zombie albums! When La sexorcisto Devil Music vol 2 came out it was raw and hard core. Never heard anything like it. Astrocreep sounded fine-tuned and took it to another level-still one of my top 10. I love his old stuff the most. Last time I saw him, Linkin Park played before, Chester sang, and Deftones opened the show. Epic.
I used to carry La Sexorcisto on vinyl with me everywhere when it came out and put it onto record players at random parties. Everyone would freak because it was so new at the time.
I always related with villians in general. The super villian that wants to knock out 2/3rds of the lower human population to make sure we have enough resources for the most intellegent amongst us to focus strictly on progress? Yeah why not?
As a kid I watched jeepers creepers and went #2 in my pants...then I had to watch monsters inc after that. Also movie called signs scared me when the alien is on the roof. But the scariest things were made for kids like puppets and clowns, there's nothing scarier than the sound of a little girl singing especially if it's during a horror movie. Kids shows can be creepy
@D C It's actually common knowledge that people who feel different or alienated tend to relate more to those types of characters in movies. It's extremely basic and nothing really profound about it.
@72 degree pyramid technology Suppressed patents bro I watched that when I was like 6 - 7 - 8 - or 9 yrs old. That shit was awesome, totally unbenunsted to me it was a horror movie. I am excited for the sequal of the Devil's Rejects. That was an awesome movie as well, and I had watched that to as a youngling.
Randy Prescott In my opinion, he’s smart enough to be living his own life, do what he loves most, and become successful at what he does. He has a beautiful wife, makes incredible films, and he’s a professional. Rob Zombie literally provides a breath of fresh air into horror cinema; a genre many people love so much. I respect him.
Man, there's something about his films. My best friend growing up loved horror and he would make me watch tons and tons of it with him, I could take or leave most of it, but The Devil's Rejects was the first one that really stuck with me. I can't say I enjoyed it; it actually made me feel a little sick tbh. But it was utterly fascinating to 12 year old me. House of a 1000 corpses as well. That's the moment I "got" horror movies and why fans of the genre just dive completely into it. I've maybe watched it twice, and it's been over a decade since I last saw either of those movies, but there's multiple scenes I remember clear as day and might never forget. As a preteen and young teen me and this friend watched literally hundreds of horror movies; from the mainstream summer blockbuster hits to the most niche obscure fucked up shit we could find. 99% I've forgotten completely, but those two Rob Zombie films stick out in my memory big time (as well as this indie flick Long Pig, but for different reasons).
I saw him when he played Ozzfest a couple years back. He was wearing a cowboy hat with a white suit covered in studs and glitter and tassels and he danced around and shook his ass...... I thought I was at a Kid Rock show.... But damn did his set kickass
@@SickBoyOC not really my style of music but I got dragged to a show a few years ago and it was awesome. I've seen many concerts where the headliners look kind of bored and just going through the motions but not this guy's band.
Rob Zombie is mad inspirational. House of 1000 Corpses was the first movie that actually scared the shit out of me, post 80's horror flix. That one where he wife is a DJ was really awesome too.
I remember listening to Thunder Kiss 65 and thought this dude must have a deep gravely voice.....and then Rob spoke lol He's one of those people where the voice doesn't match the vision at all.
House of a 1000 corpses is a masterpiece. My favorite horror movie by far. Its cut and exectuted so perfectly. Its like a bad trip a psychedelic horror. Love how it was spliced together the music choices etc.
@@salvagemonster3612 you do not want to get into cinematogrpahy with me ill spare ya and just say kubrick is my favoritre director. In this film as i mentioned above the way he splices and cuts psychadelic horror together. Color schemes and perfect subtle background sounds and music throughut creating trippy intense moments. As for the writing and scenarios accompanying the dialogue its perfecftly done. You have edgy filthy humor with softcore porn like scenery. Sex and blood and skin wearers, satanically ristualistic and schitzophrenic. Watch it again it was very entertaining and as the man said above you wouldnt dare watch it on psychedelics.
Or he could make the movie. Since Tarantino’s more of a drama/action movie maker and he’s a horror genre guy. I guess it depends on how you want your Manson movie
I always thought that House of a 1,000 Corpse, was the Remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre that never was. I think that HTC barrows heavily from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, not copies, or reused old ideas, but Rob Zombie just heightens the theams in Texas Chainsaw, and just made the perfect homage to that landmark film. The whole HTC Franchise is just amazing storytelling. I can't get enough.
I think his remake of the original Halloween was wicked. Made Micheal Myers wicked evil, massive and totally jacked. Story was awesome. Gore was awesome. I'm a horror fanatic. Nothing since the exorcist still today I've yet to find.
Honestly his version of Micheal Myers was hands down the scariest. He may not have been the silent stalker style that the original was but the way he was so brutal made him that much scarier
I think that Rob Zombie knows that most people fake laugh and fake enthusiasm you know? I mean he’s been in music and entertainment industry for how many years now
George Miller and Rob Zombie both need to come together to make a movie. That collaboration would be epic! Even if it’s just another Mad Max them two guys need to make a movie together 👍🏻
Dear Rob Zombie, your 2007 film Halloween is an unrivaled masterpiece to this day. As a big Michael Myers fan like many others, I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work and I would like to thank each and every one of your team who worked on the film. Jason Blum and David Gordon Green have come nowhere near achieving what you have created.
Thats an unpopular opinion these days, however my opinion aligns with yours somewhat. I agree that his Halloween is an unrivaled masterpiece but thanks to Carpenter, who I assume is his way of being a hater of his success from the 1st Rob Zombie Halloween being more successful than any of his installments even though he was cool with Rob remaking it then turned around and trashed his vision of the movie even though Rob did exactly as he said make it his own movie without taking away from the story. Also Dimension, which I assumed after hearing Carpenter's distaste for his first Halloween decided to come in and take over Halloween 2 and screwed Rob over which is why Rob said he was done after part 2 and it turned out no where near as good as his 1st. Since then Rob has caught a bad rep as a director and writer. Now for the Blumhouse movies they're good movies and even better than Carpenter's 3rd forward movies but they don't touch Rob's 1st Halloween.
Well that's the thing trying to one up Rob Zombie and trying to be better than him is like a serial killer copycat trying to one up and try to be better than The Zodiac Killer or Jack The Ripper.
Rob Zombie movies are quite possibly the best in horror movies today. Granted, his movies are not for everyone, but if you get it, you get it. One thing that sets his movies and music apart from the mainstream is that he has a vision from beginning to end, and he doesn't care about " mainstream " so he can't be bought.
Go see this man in concert if you haven't already, well worth the experience. His live shows are on a different level, basically an hour long live music video. Saw him at Pointfest back in 2011 or 2012.
I remember my brother buying his CD after edge using one of his songs for his entrance. I was probably only 12 at the time. Listening to him now that I’m 30 I’m loving this guy. This man is definitely an articulate artist.
Hes smart but hes definitely talked out of his ass before and been led by his ego when it comes to movies. That's why he hasn't made a good one since 2009
Saw this when I was 12 in the theatre. I remember it being very colorful, suspenseful, and grotesque. It was one of the best scary movies I’ve ever seen.
There’s a rawness and realness that Rob Zombie captures in his films that makes them so much more terrifying compared to nowadays super natural films and even other slasher films. I started watching his movies when I was like 10 and have loved them ever since
I still remember when his Halloween remake came out I was 10 years old. I loved Halloween holiday, scary movies everything I thought I was tough as shit. Until I watched his Halloween remake which made me shit bricks that night. I had never seen such horror I was hooked immediately. Plus Dragula is a kick ass song.
@Jessica Zane. HO1000C was indeed kinda of a shitty movie but devils rejects was definitely on to something kinda special. But it still was inches away from something that was truly special.
Lightupthadanks 420 one day you will wake up alone and wonder how you got there in life. It wasn’t a RU-vid comment that forced you into a life of exile. It will be a culmination of negative thoughts you project out into the world. Be positive. Calling someone a little pussy bitch gets you absolutely no where in life. Doesn’t make you sound cool. It makes you sound pathetic. Luckily you have the rest of make better decisions.
Honestly I didn’t like how he gave Michael Myers a backstory I thought it kind a wrecked the feel and when he made Michael Myers talk at the very end of the 2nd movie😕. The originals and how Michael Myers never spoke made him an amazing terrifying Sociopathic Monster and reminded me of Jaws for some reason... unrelenting unstoppable beast
