Nothing better than a good dose of Robben Ford to face the world. Twelve guitar strings, some bass lines, two drumsticks and enjoy it with your favorite drink. Thanks Robben Ford!!
This concert is absolutely brilliant with the amazing accompaniment of the rhythm section of Shannon Forrest nuanced drumming(perfect match for Robben) & the joyful bass of Michael Rhodes who we all miss very much & of course Casey Wasner, Rick Wheeler's nephew, who is a recording engineer - who co-produced with Robben, Purple House). Most of these compositions have not been identified with a name here except Robben calls 2nd one "Waiting". This is one of the best performances in recent years, of which there are many. Every Robben Ford aficionado will be awed by this concert from the lockdown times, since most of these songs are unique like PASSAIC ... trying to ferret them out until someone else identifies them... Wish there was a title list with the times so we can watch separately if we wish.
Man the sound of this live performance is so good ... spot on mix , clear and defined , perfect guys . The playing of coarse is at the highest level as you would expect ! Killer just awesome guys .
What an incredible performance from all these musicians. Michael Rhodes is such a superb talent and he is missed. This contains a number of songs I've never heard from Robben. Such a pleasure.
Robben's phrasing and intonation on that second tune is sublime - and love the brilliant tones from that SG. Discovered Michael Rhodes through his work with Guthrie Trapp - what a loss. He was always giving the other musicians on stage so much...
Hello Robben, thank you for your music and your stage and social media presence. Revelation was the song that made me try to learn playing the guitar a little All the best, as many happy memories as possible and always safe travels to all the people who appreciate you, your art and your willingness to go on stage with it - thank you
Followed you when I was introduced to your collaboration with the Yellow Jackets. That was incredible Guitar Chops. Then finally got a chance to see you at Jazz Fest in Clearwaters Coachman Park. Hope to catch you soon again. Since I'm a guitar enthusiast & played in Clearwater Beach up to Pandemic. I hope you come back soon to Gulf Side Florida. G-dspeed Brother. You are one of our favorites. Hands Down. Safe Travels. 🎸❤🙏🏻🕺💞💃
Even if I don't get to hear it....I'm warmed knowing that people are still playing great music. I'm happier when I hear it though. Not sure I've ever hear Robben play an SG. He manages to tame it and bring out the smooth and mellow side of that guitar. Sounds really great. Cheers.
Omg! This is so good. Thumbs up for the person who mixed it, awesome tones, very well balanced. Does anyone have the tracklist? Does that song 'Waiting' (6:02) was ever released? Searched all over but couldn't find anything.
I see he's simplified his Amp. I worked as a stagehand at one of his shows back in 1990 and he had a humongous rack of stuff. Either or he always sounds great
Too weird! Robben and I started out on Guild Starfire guitars about 1963 and are now playing Gibson SGs. Well mine is a cheapie Epiphone but I love the tones and how tiny and light it is. Great playing as always and I thank KFOG FM in San Francisco for turning me on to all things Robben. I gotta go talk to my daughter the Calico..First song works for me too! The second song is Wes Montgomery style Very tough to do.
