I SUBSCRIBED as soon as I realized 🫵🏼 were into Blunt‼️ Robbie & Robert changed me , raised me to become a Proper Sophisticated man! showed me another to Rock !! I Still LOVE Dio from back then /who showed me his way to rock also Gosh just can’t say enuf about the Plant/Blunt Collaborations‼️ All Three are just pure class! I believe one day plant and blood will be recognized for their push to new sounds & influences !! They were groundbreaking ‼️
Here's one of my favorite guitarists of all time and I always was impressed by how Robert Plant seemingly intentionally parted ways with the signature Les Paul player to join up with who I consider one of the signature Fender Stratocaster players. His tone was immaculate.
Dude, you look great, you sound great, it is fantastic to have come across this video and see how you have evolved. I still think that your song 'Everything's Nothing' is a class act!
so stoked to come across this back story because i know each note by heart of big log and the mental in the mood solo, as you say..so epic and dripping with atmosphere...
Hey Brother, I like your style, research and your honest opinion, you're a fan, I agree that swirl sway motion of Robbie's playing, and I agree, Jimmy is Jimmy and Robbie is Robbie..onya mate Kev Sydney Australia
Some of the best musicians I've worked with weren't good people or easy to deal with. I'm convinced there's something about being a regular guy that may make you push the boundaries of music somewhat less. Of course there are a few greats who ARE great guys and I'm happy to hear Blunt's one of them. 55 years after the fact we may forget, though how innovative Page was and not appreciate his contributions, because his influence has been so strong, he's literally shaped the genre to sound more like him.
Couldn't agree more. Robbie's playing was quite magical on those records. Tonally, it was great to hear clean, precise guitar sounds at a time when the gain and locking-vibrato scene was taking hold. Very impressed that Plant took a brave approach in his early solo career. The sound is very much of its time but in a good way - a clean, shimmering 80s vibe but still powerful and moving. I wish Robbie had made more records but it's nice to celebrate such a wonderful, inventive player. Thanks for this tribute to a player who deserves to be better known.
Thanks for your comments and very well stated. It was refreshing to hear clean adventurous playing amongst the speed distortion that was prominent at the time. Appreciate your insight.
