You know what they all have in common, they’re either rebuilding or entering a rebuild. Essendon haven’t been in premiership contention for 2 decades now. I love essendon to its core...... But we are broken.... So broken.... I know alot of other clubs and fans think we deserve it. But we have been punished and poor Hird got absolutely hung drawn and quartered by the media to the point he tried to commit suicide. That in itself is horrendous and a disgrace. The Daniher (no) trade summed up Essendon. They had an opportunity to get 2 first round picks for a bloke who is always injured, and they refused to even discuss it. They didn't have to trade him, but to not even negotiate was complete incompetence - and the majority of the Essendon supporters (including the likes of Lloyd and Robbo) cheered them on.

So disappointed in my club, another year wasted I didn't purchase a member ship this year for the first time in years, and I will not again next year untill they start to show something. Passion, honesty, aggression and ffs accountability. We are a joke and as consistent as a flake, culturally we are a mess.

There is always so much criticism on clubs that actually have a crack at trying to win a flag. They traded for some high end talent and it didn't work.(hasn't yet) Would they critics be happier if Essendon just went to the draft and ignored trades for the next 5 years? I am Hawks fan so I am never unhappy when Essendon fail but they had a crack and it didn't go to plan. Woosha took a job that surely nobody wanted and did his best in a terrible time for the bombers, then departs without having the media circus of being sacked and the new coach being unknown for half a year. Essendon fans should be thanking him. The media dickheads like to rattle on about things like "culture" and ask "what do they stand for" which is all just code for " I have nothing real to criticize but I want to have a whinge"

This is exactly what’s wrong with the media today. This is not a forum to rant about the club you follow. Gary Lyon rants about Melbourne, Robbo and Lloyd ranting about Essendon. Be impartial - viewers don’t need to hear supporters whinging about their club.

This isn’t soccer. You can’t just pay to win. Teams are meant to do well then not so well then poorly. That’s what makes our game great. The fact that any team in any year is a chance. Essendon will come back one day. They don’t need special treatment nor does any team. It is what it is.

Can I say as a representative of the 17 other clubs that we are not sick and tired of essendon being absolute pus. More of the same please- another 17 years of mediocrity would be awesome 👍

Let's tie ourselves up in knots because Essendon had a 'run-of-the-mill' year. They played finals last year, were smashed with injuries to key players this year, and still managed 6 wins and a draw. And yet it seems like the 5 teams below them get a pass.

essendon will never be a top club unless they get a top quality forward.very good back line,good mids who will be better next year but nothing much up forward,they use to much handball,let daniher go and get ben brown.

First time I have heard Robinson speak about any aspect of Football in about 3 years. I am surprised he is still in the game of sports journalism considering his loss of credibility and integrity whilst reporting on the appalling drug issue at the club.

Robbo has been an EFC man since he was born. I see a man who deeply loves his club, and as a top AFL and widely respected journalist he has to also balance out being objective. But what you see here is what's been missing behind EFC doors. The Board are weak. There are several other extremely powerful groups within the club that have historically always had serious juice, they need to get back in their rightful place, sure be involved, but stay out of politics. Dodoro who came from working at Footscray Town Hall where he met 'Harvs', managed to end up 20 years as the coaching bloke, hello? The greatest recruiter we've had is the legend Neil Judkins who Eddie poached to CFC. Dodoro's time is well over. Too many cooks in the kitchen. When you see Lloydy and the best player I ever saw, the magician Timmy Watson come out as they have and slam the club, well you know it is is a God awful way. To not give Bellchambers a final game was just appalling. The Captain is not a Captain, he's not a leader, he's more into the AFLs political Wokeness multicultural salami slicing climate change you name it leftist issues, taking a knee for God's sake.
