Watching this made me realize Robby Gordon is perhaps my all time favorite American racer - Indy, NASCAR, IMSA, Dakar, SCORE. I didn't know he was still racing trophy trucks - he must be in incredible shape to take that punishment at 50+ years of age. LEGEND!
Robbie has to be the last guy I would ever buy a truck from. I love watching him push it to the absolute limit. Maybe when he's 80 he will lift the gas pedal enough to finish Dakar.
Lol I've followed a older gent(75, 80 yrs old) in a Lexus suv from sac to redding on i5 doin 110 the whole way haha then we waved as he got off the highway. That's gonna be robbie at 80 lol.
Robby has this amazing skill to be on that fine line always fast smooth. Its seems so effortless like floating. Probably like being in the eye of a tornado
I remember pitting for him when he was around 18, driving his dad's buggy. His dad would be seen on occasion out on the course yelling at Robbie to slow down. Lol
this race footage shows that you don't always want to be in the groove on a " off road " course , he knows when an how to get clear fast footing for the race truck #respect
@William Butler No doubt Robby is one of the fastest guys out there. But he crashes & breaks down a lot due to driving like a Bat Out Of He'll. Hi is a classic. I Love To Watch Him Along With Sound Of His Truck.
I miss the days when trophy trucks were factory trucks with modifications. They had real body panels and weren't mock ups being empty of any truck soul. They're now just closed wheel buggies practically... That being said... God, I love this shit!
His ability to control a race vehicle is the most outstanding of anybody and with the fantastic power he gets or has in his offroad race vehicles is the best i have seen.
Kept thinking, "how's that thing not rolling ove?" Then I realized his massive brass balls act like a counterweight and create a low center of gravity at the same time.
Love this guy's competitiveness, but man it'd sure be great if he could finish a race w/o wrecking or breaking his truck!!! He was in great position in the Baja a couple of weeks ago, and crashed, but still finished 7th overall.
@@Danster547 Colin McRae. RIP one of the greatest rally drivers of its era and one of my personal rally idols together with Vatanen and Sainz. The madman could do an interview while driving a wrc like it was just a Sunday car. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZbTbZfUKChY.html
I remember when Robby drove an IndyCar for AJ Foyt and would routinely blow up the engine just to piss of the old man. He never understood the whole " slow down to go fast " thing......he just put the pedal down and held on for dear life. Not very effective, but hellacious fun to watch him drive.
This man has the luck of the gods ! That's all I can say after counting no less than five times he should have crashed in this video ! My hat is off to you sir well done ! 🤔😳👍
The videography on this is amazing! What an incredible fast video capture! Too bad the audio is just over distorted noise blown out by wind and hard to even listen to.
DARKSIDE I don't know about that . You need to check out the video here on you tube of a guy named J.N. Roberts. The bike he's riding only had about 4 inches of travel. I think that he would give robbie a run for his money.
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 How many T A championships or Indy races ? did your guy run a one man NASCAR team? also stadium series he is busy. I had a 77 Husky 250 it would make you pay to go fast. Malcom Smith was a bad ass also i'm old now so i just watch the kids.
Robby is suffering from a severe case of masochism(Gumball Rally). Balls to the wall and petal to the metal. You glorious badass.. If he kicks up any more sand soon there won't be a Baja peninsula. =-)
He drives like his ass is on fire and he’s running like hell to put it out! He’s definitely fucking mad in that truck and driving like a man possessed. Mad respect for this daredevil in a truck 👍
Crazy!!!!! This makes me think about here in Europe in Motorsports you see everything from 4 to 16 cylinder inline, V's, diesel, Hybrid, fwd, Rwd, and, litterally every configuration of vehicles, while in USA everything is based around V8s. You can understand a lot about our differences but we all have in common the sense of speed and full throttle!!!!
“There's a point - 7000 RPM - where everything fades. When your seeing becomes weightless, just disappears. And all that's left is a body moving through space and time.” Carrol Shelby
Watching Robbie's style reminds me of watching footage of Ayrton Senna in his prime! They way they both seem to be able to make their vehicles dance is very similar to each other.
I was thinking the same thing. “We don’t have enough road to get up to 88!” But that truck can fly! (and probably has a flux capacitor): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G3AfIvJBcGo.html
