I met Robert Conrad in person in 1975 in West Palm Beach at the Theatre that was showing his latest movie "Murph the Surf". I was 13 and in awe. I had the opportunity to speak to him on his radio show and recounted my meeting him and he sent me an updated autograph some 40 years after the first one. Great actor, great guy. RIP Robert Conrad.

Nearly sixty years later, Mr. Conrad and The Wild Wild West have more than stood the test of time..... Rest In Peace....Job VERY well done :-)

Robert Conrad should have won an Emmy for his performance as the French trapper in Centennial.

People might say Robert was bragging on himself but i grew up watching this man and i can promise you this man isn't bragging because he could do everything he said and more and im glad he was that way because he was just like i expected him to be Robert Conrad was a mans man that's the bottom line and macho doesn't do him justice, R.I.P Mr. Conrad we miss a real mans man in entertainment these days.

Every man I ever met who was born between 1950 and 1970 always claim TWWW was their all time favorite show. This is a great interview and his down to earth all American style really comes through.

One of my favorite TV shows growing up. Robert Conrad and Ross Martin worked so well together. What an amazing show and cast.

My seventh grade teacher was a personal friend of Robert Conrad and one day we spent the afternoon at the studio to see an episode filmed. So we all got to meet him, and we all thought were doubly lucky in that a guest star was Michael Dunn (Dr. Miguelito Loveless) who appeared in only 10 episodes.

Robert Conrad and Ross Martin were very great actors. And the Wild Wild West was one of the greatest western shows too.

Loved the Wild Wild West as a kid. It had that mysterious, western, adventurous and kind of mystic feel to it. Artemis was also a big part of it.

Robert Conrad was big in my life from childhood to adulthood. I loved everything he did and saw everything he did for decades. I was devastated when I learned he had passed. It was like losing a member of my own family. Thanks for giving me so many of my life's fondest memories Mr. Conrad!

So sad to see all my TV heroes age and die. Robert Conrad always delivered a brawl, gadgets and pretty ladies in every Wild, Wild, West episode.

As a child, I had some of the worse role models. And being an intelligent child, I knew I had to find something else. And then came the Wild Wild West. And Robert Conrad aka James West gave me my first intro to what a gentleman was. To this day, I never hurt a woman and I never will. And you treat men with respect as well, even an occasional enemy. But when the time comes for defense, you do what you have to do, and no one ever pushed me and got away with it, and you never kick anyone when they are down (unlike the assholes today.) I'm very happy to have known Robert Conrad, even if it was always from a distance. RIP my secret friend. God bless you.

I was a young kid and idolized Robert Conrad. Wild Wild West was something I really looked forward to every week. Getting some hot lady at the end of every episode was the icing on the cake. Many years later I moved to Los Angeles. It was very common to see TV/Movies filmed in neighborhoods. One day I took my dog out for a walk and Robert Conrad was filming something. I didn't talk to him but it was really cool to see my idol in person.

Nice to see someone rise to such heights and still keep his feet on the ground.

I always was amazed at Mr Conrad’s energy .

I met him in the 70s at a car show. He was just standing around talking to people. So approachable and down to earth. I asked him to sign his picture for a friend. I told him that it was for a friend who wanted to be there but her husband didn't want her to go. He said, "Tell her I'm sorry she couldn't be here." I said, "Not as sorry as she is." It was an experience I'll never forget!!

Robert Conrad accomplished more different things in entertainment, than anyone ever has. 1, musician, 2, Singer, 3, actor, 4, Stuntman hall of fame 5, Writer, 6, director, 7, producer, 8, radio show host. His own bodyguard, and one of the greatest actors, that treated people like they were one of his family, and that was no act. A great person. Check out his song "The Great Magician", or "Again" he had a amazing voice. He made one big mistake drunk, but he paid the price of making it, many ways. Robert Conrad was to me and many, a true Off Screen Hero also.

As a kid in grade school, i fell in love with "The Wild, Wild West" and Jim West. My favorite TV show of that era.

As a kid Robert was one of my hero's. Jim West was a western James Bond and he really is an ICON. Also Conrad was smart enough to keep his politics to himself. Also loved him as the crude, rude and socially unacceptable Pappy Boyington. LEGEND!

one of my favorite memories is meeting Robert Conrad at a swim meet his son Christian was competing at back in 1973. one of THE biggest Studs in Hollywood.

back in the 1960s, he was my television hero. we had THE WILD WILD WEST, THE GREEN HORNET, THE MAN FROM UNCLE and THE TIME TUNNEL , just to name a few. we had 3 channels with all this great variety of talent, i miss those days, so what happen ?

My three favorite westerns while growing up were Paladin (Have Gun, Will Travel), The Rifleman, and The Wild, Wild West. One could argue the last one was really more on par with The Man From Uncle, but I don't care. It merged the two most popular genres on the 1960s and the babes were so hot they beat almost any woman you see today in film. Plus the lead actors were believable in their roles. When you look at their bios you realize they had been through a lot in life and were genuine tough guys in the best sense of the term.

Robert Conrad's Columbo episode "Exercise in Fatality" has one of the best "gotcha" endings of all time! It's also one of the very few Columbo episodes where the Lt loses his cool with the killer.

Robert Conrad was a class act and he was the real deal tough Macho man. He had no fear of anyone or anything. He was one of my idols and role models. He will be deeply missed and truly never be forgotten. Love him in the wild wild west and the Duke plus the Black Sheep Squadron also battle of the network star's. I just went on a 4 day binge watch of Wild Wild West on (PRIME), every episode has been digitally remastered, what an incredible show, to this day I still think it’s the best thing to ever been made. And to watch this interview with Robert Conrad is amazing, what a nice/intelligent guy he was. I love the fact he was proud of his work, as he should be, he really was such a perfect actor, never went overboard and never cut a performance short. I wish T.V. show creators now a days would learn from WWW, too many shows being made now aren’t fun or imaginative, they drag story lines into dark and depressing places, people only have so much viewing time each day, they’re looking for an escape from reality yet still watch something not too slapstick. Wild Wild West really did it right, it had the perfect balance.

Robert Conrad and Jack Lord were my grandmother’s favorite actors! Because of that I watched The Wild Wild West and Hawaii Five-O regularly! ☮️🖖🏽

I remember being a kid, my family would watch the Wild Wild West together, oh man the memories. My mom, sis and two brothers are gone now, brings back deep memories. I was sad when he passed. His role in Columbo was awesome too. RIP to all of them.🙏

I have enjoyed watching Robert Conrad’s work all of my life. My personal favorites were The Wild, Wild West, Baa Baa Black Sheep and Battle of the Network Stars. He has always been very appreciative of his fans. I was able to talk to him via phone and email numerous times on his radio show. His death affected me a lot. I’m glad I have all of the DVDs of the WWW to watch!

I used to love to stay at my grandparent's house on weekends and sit up and watch Wild Wild west among other shows with them. Kids nowadays have all the technology, but they didn't have the pleasure of living in that magical time period when life was just more enjoyable.

Conrad was as lean and handsome as ever here. Wild Wild West was beautifully done, and without even trying became the genesis of the steampunk style.

Every time I hear the music puts me back in time.

Odd nothing much was mentioned about the series Black Sheep Squadron. I loved that show, too!

It was a difficult ending for Robert, which need not be repeated here. But I will be always grateful for his talent as an actor that brought so many of us great enjoyment.

This man was outstanding, as was the WWW. Not enough can be said about Robert Conrad, as well as Ross Martin and their fellow actors;(Michael Dunn etc..), gorgeous women, script writers, stunts and all. It was ahead of it's time and absolutely iconic. Conrad was tough and confident and he backed it up. He and his friend Ross also had two excellent Colombo episodes, another favorite of all time. RIP Robert, Ross and Peter Falk. Always.

I love this guy. I even love his insecurities, which are many. I wish I had got to meet him and give him a big pat on the back for helping me get through my my teen years.

Early in 1979, I was one of many "extras" for Conrad's TV show "The Duke." The day I was there, they were filming numerous fight sequences in the ring. Red West was also there.

Conrad was an amazing actor. Centennial and Baa Baa Black Sheep were my favorites. Always liked him whatever he did.

I was on set/watching the climatic scene of “The Night of the Murderous Spring” (season 1, episode 27) on my 5th birthday (march 11, 1966). In the scene was West, Gordon & Loveless. I ruined a take (i was 5) by asking my dad a question. The director - Richard Donner - yelled “CUT.” Michael Dunn covered for me by stating that he blew his line. He was very nice to me and I got to spend a few moments with him after the scene.

My favorite show and actor...even now...That's the way we are from Chicago!

He kept his mind, still sharp. His remarks re the cost of the show being high, it showed on screen, it was well done.

I loved the show when it first came out ... thankfully, it aired early on Friday evenings, so I could still have a social life. Started rewatching the show recently ... it's still a fun watch. I suppose, like a good wine, it just gets better with age. A great cast, led by Robert Conrad, plus a who's who of guest stars! Thanks for posting this interview. It's a shame Ross Martin departed so early.

Tight pants or not , he was stunning , a great actor and a superhero of his time and did it without a cape.

I am SO impressed. He aged so well. LOVED that show when it was first on.

What a great interview and what a great down to earth and humble man. Not an ounce of bullshit Hollywood ego between his ears. He tells it like it is and walks it like he talks it. Too bad he had the health issues in his later years. You can tell he remembers his humble beginnings when he talks of unloading trucks and working for peanuts. I was a senior in high school when TWWW premiered. I went to my buddys house as he was leaving for the Army and his Dad had it on the TV. He said he never saw such a physique in all his days. Yeah, Conrad had a chip on his shoulder. Only difference was he could back it up.

For several years The Wild Wild West was the best weekend (along with Mission Impossible) television. The show getting cancelled with a +30 rating shows the power congress had during that era.

Oh yes. Wild Wild West was such a good show. Also loved Baa Baa Black Sheep. Mr Conrad was a bad ass.

I grew up watching The WWW. Robert Conrad was my favorite actor. Because of watching him I wanted to become a Stuntman. In 1987, I fulfilled my dream in Hollywood. Thank Your Mr. Conrad

In the Wild Wild West Robert Conrad did nearly all, but not all of his stunts. If you watch the series carefully you will see where a stuntman substitutes. Still a great achievement you will never see again. RIP his battered body.
