Thanks kindly for sharing Bobby. I'm 62 now & I've been a fan of yours for 40 years. And I must say Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Raging Bull & Goodfellas rocked my little World. Ciao from Sydney DownUnder 🙏👌
The acting opportunities and the people he's met along the way is phenomenal!!! He's one of the best along with his dear friend, Mr Al Pacino, who is also one of the best!! God Bless Them Both 🙏 ❤️
One film he did that is rarely mentioned is Jacknife. It was one of those B films about the effects of war and PTSD that I inadvertently saw at the cinema who knows when. It really moved me the compassion his character showed for a fellow soldier.
@@buffythehaterslayer6918- yeah, 9 Academy Award nominations (won 5), 9 BAFTA nominations (won 2), a Golden Globe plus throw in Walken and Streep. Yeah, "meh". In 1978, it was epic. Still is. Movies with such realism, scope and intensity are rarely made nowadays. Apocalypse Now came out the following year - also epic. Platoon - a bunch of brooding pretty boys donning hair gel, prancing around in a jungle.
The interview might seem tone-down and a bit underwhelming, but one should remember DeNiro, throughout the peak-decades of his carreer , was quite a recluse, and rarely gave interviews , so this is a bit like BigFoot coming out of the forrest and revealing himself.
I WORKED WITH BOBBY DENIRO ON GODFATHER, PT 2, (I WAS LOCATION MGR)JUST A REAL, NICE GUY,...A TRUE ARTIST...LOVE THIS CLIP..WELL DONE....JACK ENGLISH..WEHO 4/2024..FILM/TV/ETC 89..YIKES!......JE
De Niro is arguably one of the greatest actors from his generation whose influence is undoubtedly "Marlon Brando", who he replaced brilliantly in order to play young Vito Corleone in The Godfather part 2.
@@buffythehaterslayer6918 Yeh they're both beautiful in this film. Two very hot men. I watched for De Niro (had a crush on him back then) but Pacino drew me in.
Stop with the praise already. He's an actor. In life we are all actors. He just does it in front of a camera. So they become labeled. They become egotistical and think people should listen to their self obsessed tripe. I have to congratulate him. He worked hard to become such a fool.
Thanks for sharing this, great interview with Dinero his explanations n commentary onhis life in NY , very interesting. Enjoyed his sharing of friendship with Martin Scorsese, genius director. Plus hiw he basically helped discover Leo DiCaprio witThis Boys Life
1:50 Yep, High Altitude LowOpening aka HALO. Their origin is D-Day, retired now but our old Intel OIC... his grandpa was one of those HALO'd into Germany on D-Day. Mohawk and everything. True badass generation.
My friend worked with negotiating, contracts, administrative responsibilities to secure collections etc at UT which is a multimillion dollar university of course. I never got to ask her how the connection and decision was made to house DeNiro's archives there.
