“What car do u drive” “Porsche 911 gt2 rs” “Oh, so it’s a Volkswagen” “No it’s a Porsche” “Porsche, Volkswagen same thing, German right?” “Let’s not forget WW2”
Watching it as a southern italian, I can say that this kind of "gesture" is quite common here. But I never would have expected to watch it, in an american movie. It made me laugh so hard hahaha
yeah i dont see this as sooo far fetched it just has to be a lie... its definitely believable if you have any experience around salesmen in general. having been one (not for cars admittedly) i can guarantee jokes are a sure fire why to get the customer on your side if the jokes land well. idk what it is, but people love buying shit from people that make them laugh, smile, etc.
I said that 3 bodies joke to a lady once, she didn’t like it to say the least. I had to tell her a “body” was a real unit of measurement for volume capacity, kinda like “stone” is for weight. She bought it. Nice save.
Just say “The bodies of all of you’re exes fit in there” with a smile and fake laugh. They will laugh with you, win their trust; and eventually buy the car from you. It has never failed me…and there’s nothing to save from there. All natural
@@angelmedina4207 but you have to bargain it though. You have to sound kind of hesitant while you're saying "you know, I think I might need to fit six in there"😎
One thing about Robert De Niro when he made Mob movies.. you'll be surprise how good he is.. De Niro is a high top caliber actor in every aspect of acting.. he can play both good and bad.. he can make you laugh and cry and even get people angry sometimes by the way he acts.. He's one of my favorite actor aside from Al Pacino who's also a very respected actor just like Robert De Niro.. I can't tell you right now the list of my favorite actors and actresses who made their own legacy in Hollywood.. Even they're all gone someday.. their films that made them popular will never be forgotten forever..
I saw De Niro in many movies , never disappointed me but my favorite one was "Awakenings" next to the late Robin Williams. If I didn't know Robert from other movies I would believe he is actually a disabled person and then suddenly Robin throws the ball and Robert catches it ...I mean "OMG what was that"? The guy is just born for acting
back then when the movie was filmed audi was still an independent car manufacturer. It was bought by vw at a later point of time. But yes, I get the point 😐
@@esseeedee also, i dont live in a english speaking country. Otherwise, you can correct my sentence structure and vocabulary but that have nothing to do with my comment.
@@windowrob What about his opinions? Lol the way he conveyed his message was goofy, not the fact that he was sick of tire kickers, which is fine. It’s the elementary school-esque way he delivered his opinion as an aging man that was hilariously cringe.
Bobby boy making it sound like that's a bad thing when those LS430's are still running smooth to this day. Hell! I keep waiting for one to be up for sale and either they're still too expensive for an old car or people just don't even bother getting rid of them.
"What kind of car do you drive anyways" "Oh, it's uh, Audi A8L" "That's like a Volkswagen" "It's an Audi" "Yeah, Audi Volkswagen same thing. German right?"
@@gsix yeah, and? Volkswagen is recycling parts, platforms and even whole cars too for their different brands and in different markets. It's standard practice.
@@chrishandsome4267 No it's not. I just wanna know if the person thinking that's a cool quote is like 13 years old and is dumb because of puberty or if it's a mentally challenged adult.
My uncle has worked in some car dealerships for more than 20 years, he is the sales manager now. He said, greet all who comes and explain everything you know, answer whatever their concerns are, don't misbehave if not required. Expensive cars don't get sold easily, however, your attitude can make someone your potential customer. Let the product speak for itself, don't push the customer, they will eventually buy when they require. He even once showed cars to an enthusiastic teen, who came back after 7 years and purchased a car from his dealership when he had the purchasing power.
That’s true…the effect of a salesman makes a huge difference. I remember when I was in high school my dad was trying to decide between a BMW or a Mercedes, he had his heart set on the BMW but I talked him into at least checking out some Mercedes models I really liked. The dealer he dealt with at the BMW dealership was a nice guy, but didn’t really leave a lasting impression. The salesman for the Mercedes was incredibly nice, helpful, and very charming. He ended up still going with the BMW he wanted, but I remember him leaving the Mercedes dealership and saying “God I wish I could buy my BMW from that guy, he was great!” I guess my point is just how big a difference a good, likable salesman can make. If someone hasn’t already made up their minds, a good salesman holds serious power of persuasion. I grew up as a coder, but I tried working in sales when I was younger and I was just awful at it. I realized I’m a terrible salesman, especially trying to sell something I don’t even believe in. I think sales is an innate talent, someone like me could read 1,000 books on how to be a good salesman and it wouldn’t make a difference. It’s something you’re born with.
When you wish you could buy the other car makes a big difference. I met alot of salesman at car dealership and some needed alot of polish .I found them a bit obnoxious.
My dad caught a kid shoplifting from our store, and instead of freaking out and throwing the kid out, he just told the kid to pay for it, and he did! Never leave money on the table.
During my car sales career. For years in the showroom, talking to customers, showing them the cars, and this part of the movie almost always pop in my mind😂 how I wished sometimes I can talk like this.
@@oiinahgiiusadurrybrahchuck7209 then you should be unhappy with your employer instead of potential customers. if all sales are attending customers expecting them to buy then we will see a drop in sales and reputation of the branding especially in todays internet age. These couple are considering it, they may still return for a purchase, but what del niro did pretty much made it impossible. i get he is the boss and car sales isnt his main business but this puts dealers in a bad spotlight.
I just love watching Robert DeNiro in just about anything and everything. He just always owns every scene he,s ever in.Love how he delivers that line about using dead bodies as a unit of measurement too!!If a dealer said that to me i,d laugh and say safe i,ll take it.
But you still don't talk to them like that I know it's frustrating I agree 100% but that's part of being a car salesman "Not from you I wanna see the manager!" the customer said it best and that's what it will lead to
