I love that Pete shouted out Steve Coogan. He often gets forgotten in this movie, by no fault of his own. Alan Partridge is may be the greatest comedy character of all time. Coogan is so good.
The intro with the “sessions” bit was really funny, what if every episode you guys started the intro with a mini bit where you guys give us “updates” as to how y’all are doing on the “island”, just improv bits on petty issues that you guys are dealing with while being on this island, I think it would tie in the stranded island theme really well before started off the actual content
Carlose looks and sounds high, cool to see this pod kicking off with Doc back. Fancy has good question but kinda awkward, hopefully he didn't leave but behind the scenes keeping the structure.
I think fancy is too busy trying to find people to act in his upcoming movie to be on this too much rn. For sure he’s still behind the scenes, these boys would be too far gone by now otherwise 😂😂😂
Carlos is 100% right about the lack of Mexicans on TV during that time. There was so much black television I would relate so much more to those characters as well. The black dad on TV was something I related to so much as well. Wayans bros being an example of that for sure. Thanks for that Carlos!
It's pure gold when they brainstorm outlandish stuff with Doc and he HAS to look at the camera and do a disclaimer every time. Along the lines of "I'm not part of this. I don't do this stuff."
Great episode. I love Tropic Thunder. And this being a first time watch for Doc is even better. Too funny lol Pete, I'm with you. I also NEED Severance season 2 ASAP!
I love the juxtaposition of doc sitting next to Pete lol, they should do a review of the movie twins with Danny devito and Arnold, and dress up in matching suits
carlos is right with his hispanic culture take... other than George Lopez. his show was poppin for sure!! first stand up i fell in love with when i was like 6 lol
I fell asleep 5 minutes into watching this movie the first time and took that as a sign to never watch it ever again lol. Only movie of my life that I fell asleep that fast 😂😂😂
(Had to edit in the GOATS cheech and chong with their up in smoke, corsican bros and born in east la stuff was loved by everyone.) Mind of Mencia Culture clash was a hispanic sketch comedy show on fox House of Buggin New York Undercover put a black man and latin man as the lead cop characters Ashley Banks from fresh prince was played by Latin actress Tatyana Ali Rosie Perez, Danny Trejo, Selma Hayek and Penelope Cruz were ALL over the place Hispanic comedians were popping off too George Lopez Pablo Francisco Carlos Mencia Paul Rodriguez Willie Barcena John Leguizamo Luiz Guzman Jeff Garcia Horatio Sanz Louis CK who is biracial and spent most of his life while growing up in Mexico Just because people chose to watch other stuff doesnt mean they werent there. I'd argue the late 90s did a LOT for Latin exposure in America. Especially music wise. @89arios07
@@trippinbawls88he’s talking about Mexican culture portrayed in main stream media. And more specifically sitcoms. George Lopez was the only one. Nickelodeon had Brothers García and maybe that’s it. We’re not talking about Puerto Rican or any other Latin culture he’s talking about Mexican in particular…
@303maravilla I mean.. were talking about America here at the end of the day. I'm willing to believe 90% of white Americans can't (or couldn't be bothered to) tell the difference between most Latino/Latina cultures. So a win for one is a win for all, in my opinion of course. But I get what you mean.
He doesn't need one.! The context of the movie was "Isn't it ridiculous and gross how Holywood treats black and minority roles". -He's on your side! It would be different if they actually decided to put him in blackface because he replaced a black actor...
Keep the left and right side orange bamboo walls as is but only for that center orange wall behind the sos logo, why not do a green screen with an island background that has certain evolving animations, it would make the set feel larger in scale and add to the island aesthetic, the set would feel like a small hut, and in the distance through the hut’s opening (center green screen wall) you’d have a glimpse of the island and it’s changing weather patterns, flamingos, tide waves etc
I get why Doc might be mad at bad friends, they fired him because of his drinking but let’s be real, Andrew drinks on that show all the time. Sometimes it’s more obvious than others, his face gets so red from the drink but he just blames it on his orange genes
In the movie RDJ says 'i dont drop character until i do the dvd commentary'. Well when the dvd commentary came out its Jack Black, Ben Still and Robert. The funny thing is hes still in character the whole time until he becomes Kirk Lazarus, and its the most hilarious thing ever
