RDJ can be proud of himself. Or people who actually know him can be proud of him. You, a random person, don't have any leverage and legitimate ground to be proud of him. You can just root for him. But that's not the same.
@@CristianaQuaranta I can actually, because I did ;-) But you can choose to ignore a friendly encouragement to be mindful of what you say (which, based on your reply, I presume is precisely what you will do) because saying you're proud of a person you've never met is somewhat ridiculous and plenty presumptuous. Also, if a random person were to say to me they were proud of me for something I did, I'd definitely find it super weird and upsetting, I'd kind of appreciate their well-intended gesture but I'd also be thinking to myself "who the F are you to be proud of ME?! I get to do that, not you. You can say that something I did is nice or that you like it but you can't say you're proud of me FFS, because you don't even know me, my past or my present so you can't possibly know if the thing you want to be proud of me for was actually a challenge for me or if it was just something random I did but you really liked it. Your opinion is irrelevant, I don't even know you and it's freaking me out that you presume I want to hear your opinion on me in regards to something you have ABSOLUTELY no right to judge me by any merit because it's not yours to judge, but mine. So buzz off and instead of me, be proud of yourself or whoever the F ever needs external validation of complete strangers.
he was amazing in chaplin but sorry...he had to go against Mr.pacino and Mr. Eastwood , and Denzel too... so yeah..its tough..but Pacino deserves more..
Over who? Like yall just say anything "I like this actor so he deserves to win" meanwhile you haven't seen all the other performances. No one deserves anything. Leonardo lost for years before he won and he's far better an actor.
@@thelevisullivan "...and had waited long enough for an Oscar." That's just it - it was Pacino's eighth Oscar nomination, and after seven losses the Academy figured that they better give it to him. RDJ was being polite - he's not gonna say that Pacino robbed him.
Robert is so good at expressing the emotions and thoughts of his characters without dialogues. He can pull the audience in the movies. His acting was spectacular in this movie, as the antagonist. His performance was magical in this movie, it couldn't have been better and no actor could have played this role better than Robert. I've watched his movies ever since I was a child, he was my childhood. To see him improve and get a great, big role like this couldn't have been better. He is an amazing actor and an amazing man, he definitely deserves this nomination. Congrats on your nomination! Fingers crossed 🤞
Whoppi and Robert are some of the first actors I came across, love and never forget their performances. I was about 10 when we started to see more American movies, (early 90s after an isolating dictatorship), but yes it might be that Robert Downey's performance in Chaplin was my first "present day" star( not from classical movies.. ) the actor I would know the name, recognize the face and always keen to see him again. I haven't seen this one, not yet, as I was not keen of a movie that might portray Oppenheimer and the entire operation like an eroic fact. Not sure that I'd the case, but that was the impression as in the promotion of the movie it looked like an omagiation of his success Maybe one of this days, as a lover of good performances
I remembered Whoopie's first days on the comedy circuit. Hey, most revered and beloved Queen: remember the Other Cafe doin' nights with Robin Williams and Bobcat Goldthwaite!?...I was the guy that built the dressing rooms under that little balcony for Richard and Bob...ah, Cole valley...once waited for the N Judah with Danny Glover, who was aggressively reading the chronicle, like some pulpy talisman warding off an admirer. All he gave me was a grumpy side-eye. I prudently kept my mouth shut. Now look at you. Triple Bravo!
I did love the movie. Saw it with my mom but I feel like Killers of the Flower Moon 🌙 is being overlooked. Oppenheimer has had more than enough media attention. Lovely movie but I hope Lily Gladstone wins. ❤️❤️🙏
The 1993 Oscar race was competitive. Most believe that Pacino had 3 or more better performances than his work in Scent of a Woman but was given the award bc it was overdue and bc it was a makeup for his 70s losses. Even if Downey hadn't won, Denzel for his work in Malcolm X was equally deserving as well.
great segment, but as Jamaican - and Whoopi would know - the word is "gan-ja" that last "A" sound should not be cut off.......Anyway, great performance by RDJ in "Oppenheimer". I hope he gets it.
Really don't like how they're still doing these remote interviews post-pandemic. This format is really not conducive to a talk show with multiple speakers. I can understand if they're covering a live event on the ground but if you're just there to promote a movie - there's no shortage of people with projects to promote - just show up.
New here and sadly I just couldn't get into the education movie sadly. Lol and also I'm very jealous that normal pple from drama club/ education can put on elderly makeup and not have to work a day in their life sadly and possibly
Hey I have an idea. Let’s bring RDJ on the view and insult him twice. It will be fine we’ll congratulate him and end with Whoopi and his work. (The View) The Skype interview was the correct choice. Ephesians 4:29 It’s fine. Someone get him a fro-yo.
We’ve become so desensitized to violence and war. I haven’t seen this movie, but it for all the people who seem to praise it- I’m not hearing any anti war push coming from that direction…
@@Ksu_The_Volunteer Barbie ( a film about a doll) is amusement too, but people keep talking about how it goes so hard on patriarchy. I’m thinking if Oppenheimer has such little impact in the real world (when there are multiple wars being waged) maybe Barbie is the better movie.
What the He'll has Sunny done to her mouth? It looks like it's not actually attached to her face. Sunny is usually quirky but now she is just plain scary.
This is totally rigged. They always have a person who gets a ton of media for their nomination, then they win. He totally deserves it, but it’s funny. Congrats RDJ!

He played it so over the top.lewis Strauss was not like cunning as shown in film and Robert made a mimicry of his character.sorry academy nomination of Oppenheimer is itself a joke.
good thing your opinion doesn't matter. Ever heard of actors making their own interpretation of a real person? Rdj used the script and specific directions from the director to act that way and he delivered talently. rdj never acted like that in other roles.
