even if his questions were bold, he made rdj extremely uncomfortable, u can see it in his body language. plus, he’s been known to anger people he interviews by asking dickwad questions
Yeah, I think the same interviewer did that to Quinton Teritino (cant spell his last name) by trying to make out that he is a violent person because of his movies. But he completely just shut his ass down in the interview. It's so good
He sits down for a promo interview, gets flat out ambushed by a question that belongs on 60 minutes THEN the sleazy putz has the guts to laugh as he's walking out... Rob, I applaud your ability to avoid kicking his teeth down his smug throat.
JudgmentDay78 while I respect your opinion, I don't think he's worth that much energy and given Mr. Downey Jrs taste I'd hate to see him wreck his shoes on this pos.
Spckeck Good point. All I know is the man has worked hard over the years to overcome that reputation he gained as a young man. Young people do stupid things, we all have at some point done something we're not proud of later in life. He's been interviewed lord knows how many times about it. Let the man get on with his life and look at him for who he is now, not who he was 20 years ago.
o yes it would be different if this was clear it was a interview about those things but when it is just in the bounds to promote something you cant step out of that it is so unprofessional
You're wrong, he did not "storm out" of the interview. He did not react to the inappropriate, insensitive, tasteless questions with any aggression, he didn't say anything mean or nasty. He was very calm and cordial, and even said to the douche-bag reporter that he was a good guy, just a little to much Diane Sawyer and walked out. Who ever wrote the title for this video does not grasp or understand the use of the english language, and appears to only be interested in sensationalizing it. Best to describe what it really is, don't you agree?
Storming out of an interview is a bit of an over exaggeration but lets be honest, he was pretty quick to leave the interview. Albeit in a calm manner but in the middle of a bit of an sensitive question most likely written by someone else and not the interviewer himself rather probably an outsource from the company he works for. Downy knew this, thats why he said "you seem like a good guy" meaning that it wasnt the interviewer that made him upset but rather the question itself. He doesnt seem to be the type to blame others for how he feels, he seems to just take responsibility for how he feels and try to either resolve it, or in this case, leave.
I really respect how even when walking out of an interview, Robert Downey Jr. does so calmly and maturely. The interview should have been about the Avengers. There's a time and a place for everything, and Downey has answered questions about his past in previous interviews. But when this is clearly an interview about the Avengers, those questions had no place.
If Robert doesn’t feel comfortable talking about that- and I’m sure he’s not comfortable talking about his past, then people shouldn’t ask him, it’s simple
@@sharpaycutie2 the reporter did know. It was his job to interview RDJ on Age of Ultron. He instead started asking him inappropriate questions about his past which is why RDJ asks if we’re doing in interview. Clearly he was uncomfortable and left because RDJ was expecting questions on the movie not his life
@@sharpaycutie2 okay but anyone’s past about drugs or alcohol isn’t important to talk about, Nd it could be a hard topic for the ppl who went through it
That was a cool and calm response to a clearly uncomfortable question that shouldn't really be asked at an interview about a film. If you want to delve into a troubled past why not bring up some of the troubles Downey's character has and see if he relates and draws from his own past. That would be an actually interesting question too!
Ok he did drugs.fuk leave him alone he has changed his life around ,leave it in the past He moved on to bigger and better things congrats Robert Downey Jr. Ur a dmn good actor. Love ur movies
no ones bashing him for that. Did you ever think that his testimony could inspire others? honestly, you fucking yanks can't think people are prying whenever an honest and sincere question is asked.
@@juniwilliams i know I'm 2 years late but, he literally asked him something Robert never wants to remember again, how would you like it if someone was pushing for answers on something you don't want to remember again, I hope I'm reading your comment correctly cuz it sounds like you're siding with the interviewer here
@@juniwilliams the thing is they are not friends. That’s stuff that only friends talk about. The dude was prying when RDJ was simply there to promote a movie
the interviewer made me cringe too much while he was struggling to get out the question but stall at the same time uhh if it felt that wrong you probably shouldn't have asked man
This guy needs to learn when to and when to not talk about something he made Robert so uncomfortable if I was downy I would have took my shoe of and done some pretty serious damages with it.
I loved this, he was so calm. The interviewer went completely off subject prying into his personal affairs and Robert was right for walking out. He did not " storm out", he just left
Okay SOMEONE tell me they didn't see Tony Stark as he was doing this. That's literally text book Stark reactions right there, "Bye" then walking out. They are literally the same person on and off screen. I love him all the more now.
Textbook movie stark which is literally just RDJs personality because they let him have so much freedom with the character. He's still similar but not so much like comic Stark
@@SirBool he was already a well-known great actor!! But he’s going to be known has Tony Stark, and I think because he starts, and I became the beginning of comic blockbusters, he did put himself into those movies!! as much as I didn’t want Iron Man a die, it was a good way to end those 10 years because they made us feel that, that lost of Tony Stark!!👏 👏
If the man knows that he’s answered a question like that in other interviews, he didn’t exactly have a reason to ask the question again. Robert had a bad past, and has worked to over come that past! He doesn’t need a non-caring interviewer to ask him such a dark question as if they were just friends having a deep conversation. The way Robert handled it was spot-on amazing, and I applaud him for thay😌💕👌🏽
Great job Robert! You talked about this million of times in the past including Oprah. You showed millions of people that you can bounce back from mistakes and be successful from your past. You are not obligated to justify your past to strangers or silly interviewers. Opening bandages on wounds! Your fans love you and are happy for your success.
(I’m a brain surgery survivor. Siri is helping me spell. I’m sorry if some of my sentences might be off )You are 100% correct!! And he knew with Oprah would that was going to be about!! This is in promoting his movie, that I was just trying to Pedro minute to be noticed!! Robert Downey, Jr., walked off like a professional, and that idiot is being made fun of on RU-vid right now!! 😂😂😂…
Yeah he did the same with Quentin Tarantino asking him about his stance on violence in movies and Tarantino shut him down telling him that the interview is nothing but promotion for his movie and not there to talk about anything else
You know how you don’t ask a person with PTSD about their past trauma, you don’t ask Robert Downey Jr. about his past. It’s just “Professional Courtesy”.
You can see his breathing starting to get heavier towards the end but his eyes are locked onto him. I don't think that many people have that level of control to NOT lash out.
Krishnan is a hopeless journalist. He had a similar interview with Quentin Tarrantino where he talk the interview in a completely unnecessary direction. I'm not sure if he is a self publicist who wants attention for upsetting big names or if he is so dim that he doesn't understand the difference between a movie promo chat and a "warts and all" hour with Oprah.
He was there to talk about the movie not his past or anything like that I would leave as well if people started making so much personal questions instead of stuff about the movie
First, he didn’t storm off, he handled it calmly and professionally. Second, you could tell Robert was getting emotional. It’s not his fault it’s that dudes fault.
I’ve learned so much from this interview in my personal life. Remove yourself from toxic people. I’ll leave .. and I’ve walked out on so many unecessary
The title is misleading. The reason he "stormed out" of the interview was that the interviewer started asking personal questions and RDJ didn't want to commit to the interview so he left calmly and appropriately.
You don’t just ask questions like that to someone you don’t really know, nor understand. Robert felt irritated and uncomfortable, you could tell. He got past and through that stuff and it’s in the past, so why ask about it. It could set off a trigger within some people. Plus Robert didn’t even storm out of the room, he just walked away in a calm manner.
These types of interviews are arranged by people who want to defame other people Downey cleverly walked out Amazing Really well done Some people don't let you escape your own past
I thought he was acting twitchy and sketchy ..prolly why the line of questioning went down that road.... Druggies on the mend ...or so we are told... are our kids superheroes now? Nope.
Laughing knowing that the best actor you love is angry at you and walking away from you offended by your words acting like your a hater. There is something wrong with that guy and Robert Downey Jr. Has every right to do what he did.
They're typically there for time management. His schedule, especially when he's doing press for a new release, is likely insane in terms of the amount of other interviews he likely had that day. Their job is to ensure that when an interviewer's two or three minutes are up that the interview is ended so he can move on to the next one and not get wrapped up in answering a question that requires long answers. Gotta keep the train a-movin'.
I detest the fact news people keep saying he stormed out. He didn’t storm out, he walked out calmly and respectfully like a boss 👍 The interviewer deserved it anyway
