This is fabulous. I talked to him after one show last year and he told me his high school drop out story. He was so encouraging in helping me pursue my future.
I got to Run Sound for Robert Ellis last year. He is one of the most talent musicians I've ever met--one of the best guitarists, pianists, and drummers I've seen. simply amazingly talented.
Hey there guys, do yall know what it takes to play a set on their show? Ive got alot of original songs id like to share. Check out my channel if yall want? I currently only have 1 original uploaded though. Any feedback is appreciated
So I'm your quintessential English music snob who regards US-country sounding music as some of the worst music ever. HOWEVER, stumbled across Robert Ellis here (fist time I've heard of him) and am obsessed with this version of "Drivin". Beautifully done, love the lyrics and wow that guitar! Just brilliant.
I originally discovered him on the Cayamo Cruise a few years ago, and have tried to see him every time he has performed anywhere near us ever since. He's also a very nice guy!
Definitely a good fresh sound in country music performance I have heard in a while. I feel as if I returned listening live in Nashville's Margaritaville Steakhouse. Wondered if he played there?
I do know that he tried the traditional Nashville scene for a while earlier in his career. Luckily, he broke out of that, and was able to come out with more original stuff.
I agree. hard to say what he's got in there though. it's likely custom, maybe a refinished vintage model judging from the headstock. tricky when they make so many reissues though. they're really warm though, so probably not the tinny stock alnicos found in most fenders. hope that kinda helps
This guy is an americana/folk singer from Charleston, SC. If you're into Robert Ellis, then give Avi Jacob a listen and help his submission for Tiny Desk be heard. Here's the link to his submission, Modest Man.
