With the gold plating and checkerboard binding, it looks as if it may have been a custom job. Beautiful looking and sounding.

Banjo sounds awesome. Never sacrifice timing for speed, just saying 😀

I'm pretty sure Ralph Stanley played a similarly styled Gibson Model 6 archtop earlier in his career and established the hard, driving "Stanley sound", the only difference being the wreath inlays on his banjo.

I recognize this little interior space from a video with guitarist & hardshoe dancer Cil Pierce. Where is this little wood music yurt, it's certainly the site of a lot of good music happening!

Why start off slow then speed up? Keep the tempo at same pace

Just wish he had played that without a capo to get the "real tone" from that archtop.

You have speed, now work on your musicality. Your rhythm is all over the place. Slow it down and lock in your rhythm. Then slowly speed it up with the rhythm locked in.

I agree 100%.

I was gonna say the same thing. He needs to get all the notes, missing all kinds of licks and yes his rhythm isn’t solid.

Slow down son, you're rushing it and missing notes, faster isn't always better and timing is suffering
