That's like people who like to say White Scottish, Irish and French created Country Music, no they didn't; certain individuals from these backgrounds help create it. There is certain type of patriotism that people love; basically they take pride in other peoples accomplishments as if they had been involved. I remember this wee Scottish nationalist in a bar telling everyone that Scotland gave the world penicillin, no they didn't it was Alexander Fleming and yes he was Scottish but Scotland didn't invent it, it was an individual. I always object to mass appropriating of something that doesn't belong to them. If all the people that created the blues were fat, would that mean that all fat people could say look what we created?
