Exactly, I know a musician who worked on Lauryn 1st solo album and he been said it took a minute for them to get paid, let alone get credit for writing on the album. Lauryn Hill is very gifted and talented but she did not do that whole album by herself.

4 Grammy awards. Brother congratulations that is a huge achievement and beautiful of him to let his family members hold the awards at their homes. In regards to what he said about Miss Hill, I 100% believe him. She released that album over 20 years ago and she still very difficult to deal with. The problem is with her. No question. No wonder why there has bever been a second album.

It's sad to hear this but a lot of people get some fame and fortune and lose their touch with everyday people. Lauryn Hill has just lost touch with regular people. Robert Glasper seems to still be grounded though. I really like August Green too.

Yeah. But fame has a tendency to magnify who you are to the people that know you behind the scenes. If you’re treating people behind the scenes like crap then that is typically a true representation of who you are.

Him just airing out all of lauryn hills dirty laundry seemed unnecessary to me, especially because these are things we all kind of already knew. He’s a great musician, I wish he would’ve kept it focused on the music or at least kept these stories anonymous. But I understand that feels very disrespected which is probably why he put it all out there. Especially because he has been a great musician in the business for so long.

WhenYouWishUponaStar It was somewhat distasteful. I think the host shouldn’t have brought up the topic. He lowkey knew already about robert’s business with Lauryn. Granted I’m sure he didn’t know Rob was going all in. Also there have been rumors of these things happening. I dunno what goes on in her personal life but she’s being anything but classy. She needs to treat people better or face the consequences. She kind of had it coming even if I’m not completely on board with Rob going in on her that hard. My man was savage AF tho. 😂

What I don’t understand is, how come in the black African-American community or whatever we want to classify ourself as, are the only ones to talk bad about one another on the level that we do? I understand keeping it real is keeping it real but it has gotten to a point to where keeping it real is become snitching and throwing each other under the bus and embarrassment.

So Robert heard all this negative things about Lauryn, yet he still agreed to play for her? It seems pretty fishy to me. Then he did not want to audition for Lauryn... Seems like Robert was trying to be a diva. Apparently Robert is not familiar with Lauryn's work, if he was, he would know that Lauryn had another phenomenal album, the Unplugged 2.0. No it doesn't have all the beats and production that Miseducation has, yet it is stronger with just a guitar, a microphone and Lauryn's voice. People should read the lyrics to those songs and then come back and question Lauryn's ability to write. Also another musician said that all the sounds were in Lauryn's head, but since she can not play many instruments, it was their job to produce them the way Lauryn wanted them to sound.
@nicolletelangdon2694
@nicolletelangdon2694 3 года назад
@Anne Day Have you listened to Unplugged by Lauryn Hill yet? She very clearly states that the songs are the way they are suppose to be. They, meaning producers, record label execs and so forth, told her she could not do an album without musicians and she did. Lauryn does not do music just for sales or to remain relevant. The songs on Unplugged weren't as large because she calls out the system that we live in. As for the lawsuit, she choose to settle out of court to have peace of mind. Her record company(Columbia) did not want her to because they knew she was right and would win the case. However, most times it's cheaper to settle out of court than to prove your innocence. Just because you settle out of court does not mean you are guilty. The legal process can be a long drawn out course. Now, if those musicians you referred to as brothers were so talented and they worked on what my opinion is the best album in the past 30 years, why did they not produce other hit records for other artists? Singers and record labels would have been recruiting them so they could come out with other hits. The problem with Lauryn is that the industry has continuously tried to stop her because she refuses to play by their rules. You know she declined a role in Charlie's Angels because she was not going to dress in no skimpy outfit for no one.
@nicolletelangdon2694
@nicolletelangdon2694 3 года назад
@Anne Day The songs weren't big because they did not get air play. Lauryn wanted a different sound. If you've heard the album in its entirety, then you know Lauryn addressed this. I am the last person to victimize anyone, but Lauryn is a victim of the music industry. You can also listen to Neurotic Society and Consumerism which are heavily produced. They've been trying to discredit her but Lauryn is still good as ever. If you want your points to remain, then please answer where the other hit records that those who wanted credit for Miseducation production are?Lauryn produced The Score along with Wycleff and Pratz, and she wrote all her lyrics there too. But you know what, its perfectly fine for your to believe whatever you want and me to believe whatever I want. at the end of the day neither you nor I were at Tuffgang Studio to see how the album came along.
@thedream5095

@Anne Day you can’t compare production when it’s just a live recording with her singing and playing her guitar
@rctecopyright
@rctecopyright 3 года назад
@Anne Day For a lot of people what you're saying sounds like you are telling them Santa isn't real. The facts mean little where belief is concerned. They are believers so they wouldn't admit the truth even if they took the time to verify it. I'm guessing that a lot of folk have also vicariously attached themselves to the myth of Lauryn Hill and to depedestalize her would also mean invalidating whatever personal thing they were going through that made them connect with the work. The best you could do is shut them up with consistent facts but all they'll do is get louder or quiet but they'll still insist that they're right. Personally I'm not as deeply steeped in this as you seem to be but layman that I am I can piece together the information given enough to realize that Glasper is being more genuine than Hill defenders would like to admit. But that's not too hard for me to conceive because for as much as I appreciate her art I never put her into some deified position.
@4partmedia
@4partmedia Год назад
@@nicolletelangdon2694 wow. If you sign a record contract, you are making music with barcodes to sell. Stop fronting. An "album" is a community effort, just as The Fugees first album was. There were other producers and musicians who played on those albums. It is very clear you are ignorant towards the recording process--- you don't create albums all by yourself. New Arc deserved credit-- she didn't credit them, she never spoke of them. That's straight up stealing others works. You are wilding 😂😂😂

Just because the Europeans gives you grammys doesn't make you a genius the best musicians the masses don't even know their names lauryn hears what we can't sees what we can't she is the genius her latest performances has broken time restraints I am sure most bands can't keep up the pace but I love the speed up '-'-''thought jazz musicians were more mature I love glaser work absolutely the extra negative comments about anyone is too extra and not needed
