I’ve only recently discovered Robert Gordon and I love his stuff, often more than the original versions! Sometimes RU-vid’s discovery algorithms drive me crazy, but I’ve gotta say, at 69, I love to be discovering new artists!
His appearance on SCTV was outstanding and made me dig this guy’s vibe forever. The Marshall Crenshaw song he made his own plus any thing with Link was great RIP.
All I want is a love that's hot Can't be sold and it can't be bought Love don't try to be something it's not All I need is a love that's real Love won't rob and love won't steal Love that moves like a drivin' wheel Well, all I want is a drivin' wheel Well, all I want is a drivin' wheel All round up, is my ideal Jump! All I want is a love that's right To hold on to with all my might Early in the morning and late at night All I need is a love that's real Love won't rob and love won't steal Love that moves like a drivin' wheel Well, all I want is a drivin' wheel All I want is a drivin' wheel All round up, is my ideal
It doesn't matter if Danny Gatton played the guitar. We all know that. The point is, it's a really great video. Really nice job by the makers. Very well done.
Awesome .. the clips from "Thunder Road" are the heat!!! BTW, Elvis was supposed to play Mitchum's younger brother, but the Colonel ruled it out ... a shame.
I played with RGordon back in 89 @ Jiggs Corner, Butler NJ. Our band was called Jet Black. He was a friendly dude. He was playing with Spedding that night, I will post some of the night soon. Please checkout rockabillygone, all one word, for originals and oddball rockabilly. songs.
aint my baby who Is writing it is Her daddy soy de México y quiero q sepan q esa canción me llena el alma de satisfacción no se si esa sea la palabra correcta pero he escuchado esa música desde q tenía 15 años y Robert Gordon es 1 de los mejores en el consepto de esta música maravillosa q es el rockabilly
@1776CaptainAmerica Robert was able to recruit some outstanding guitar talent.......Danny Gatton, Link Wray and Chris Spedding. Chris remains the only one living.
We all know that man. But its a pretty good effort by the person who put the video together. The important thing is, due to the bombardment of 5 minute 'trends' many artists from the 20th century are slowly being forgotton. Robert and Danny were great artist and their music should always be remembered.
