Robert Mugabe: End of the dictator 

Life expectancy now 40. He has lived into his 90's. Where is the justice for the Zimbabwean people. 1980: $1zim =$2 US last count was 25 trillion to $1 Unemployment at 95% Starvation 25% 1980 Zimbabwe was the 2nd richest country in Africa. Now it is one of the poorest. (Warren Buffet recently said that Zimbabwe should be the richest country in Africa.) Inflation runs into the thousands % One diamond mine alone (Marange) has the potential to produce $1 billion per month. For the first time in it's history, Zimbabwe has started importing food, most of it from neighbouring Zambia, grown in Zambia by Zimbabwean citizens. How can anyone say what a great man he is?

A wise man once said, “The war wasn’t Blacks vs Whites, it was Rhodesians of all races against a horrible regime”.

This Guy literally ruined a country for 37 years. The word POWER alone carries a huge weight.

This means nothing, as a person who has visited. Zimbabwe and who has had a mother born and be chucked out with her family at the age of 5 with only what they could carry, and to have a father be working in Zimbabwe now, all that is going to happen is that someone just as bad or even worse will come into power, and continue what he has done. UDI was not just about keeping power with a small minority group within the country, it was about proposing an alternative to the majority rule before time. UDI was supported by the majority of Rhodesians, Black, White, Coloured and Asian. Ian Smith's evolutionary anti Marxist vision for the future of Rhodesia would have worked had the international community backed off. Always remember that the systems of governance in Rhodesia (the land tenure act, whites only spaces etc) where British systems imposed on the colony as its terms for responsible governance, and as soon as they were unfashionable in the UK then every colony had to change or be ostracised.

Same thing is happening in South Africa now near enough.

He totally and singlehandedly turned a once prosperous country into what is today, officially the poorest country in the world. He borrowed money everywhere, sent his wife on lavish London shopping trips - and today, Zimbabwe cannot pay those loans back, the infrastructure is non - existent. It can't be fixed for generations.

Please don't misrepresent the facts. Mugabe did not lead the war effort. He was merely a party bureaucrat and penpusher. The war effort was led by Joshua Nkomo and Zipra first. They fired the first shots and were the first black nationalists to confront white minority rule. Other leaders like General Josiah Tongogara led the war on the Zanla side. Mugabe because of his book smarts and handle of the English language was then sent to represent the fighters in Lancaster and the ZANU side decided to make him leader purely as the party's talking head. He was never a true revolutionary in the strict sense of the word, never came within 400km of the frontlines where the battles were taking place. As the transition toward independence was coming, he began to consolidate power via the not so mysterious deaths of those who would have been favored to lead the country above him. Using his charisma he became the face of ZANU and a revisionist attempt to rewrite the real history has happened ever since. The man operated from illegitimate authority from the getgo and that is why he was so paranoid of opposition. To the ZANU minions that gave him power....they thought they could control him in the beginning because their revolutionary credentials were deeper than his, but while they were player draught, Bob was playing Chess and one by one he took care of those who threatened his power. By the time they realized they had created a monster...it was too late.

And in a few years it will happen all over again.

All the power the honor and glory belongs to God men have to be wise and humble fear him and serve with great respect and your joy will last forever

Honestly, I do not understand why the democratic system gives most of its power to one person. This is an example that it shouldnt, one guy ruined the whole economy of Zimbabwe. In my opinion the power and authority should be spread between a group of people equally to make decisions collectively so that stuff like this can be avoided.

The problem will always be what happens when any man not having firm faith and humility towards his God encounters absolution of power. Acquisition of this power always will undermine the humanity of leaders and cause subjugation of his people devoid of faith and obedience to Godly observation. The ego of any totalitarian political regime will erode the principals of all but truly accountable men and women understanding the position of power and control and it's corrupting influence over a span of long duration.

The Zimbabwean people need massive deprogramming. How did the crocodile saved Zim, or is the hero in the collapse of their (Mugabe, crocodile, etc) mismanagement of Zim and its fortunes. Only after he got fired from his post and the government has he turned against his former comrades.. The guy even fled, leaving the people all by themselves under Mugabe. And, some zim people seem to completely overlook this fact.
