Ironmind sandbags are nice because you can change their weight. From 50 all the way to like 300 in the same bag.

If its heavy for you, and you feel its a struggle that means thats a good workout...then little by little you start increasing...sooner or later that 50lb will your warm up

Pea pepples/gravel works great as filler. The sand ends up making a mess.

I bought a 90kg(200lb) sandbag today. Haven't filled it yet, but hoping it won't be too much to get started with(I'll find a solution if it's too heavy).

How did it go?
@AageKush
@AageKush 3 года назад
@@goonerinSP 90kg was too much, but luckily I filled it with liner bags. 60kg(132 lbs) was perfect. Stuffed it with some old clothes I was going to donate to add some more volume. Now I am at 70kgs, but I have more liner bags and sand so I can fill it with increments of 10kg(22 lbs) in the future. Cylinder sandbags are supposed to be filled directly with sand, but it works great the way I ended up doing it. Not as packed as it's supposed to be yet, but it's good enough. A little more work to fill it using liner bags, but I am very glad I made sure to get some. Never touched a sandbag before so I guess I was a bit ambitious with 90kgs, but at least I have some room to grow stronger with it before I need a bigger bag.

@@AageKush If you don't my me asking, how much do you deadlift and row? Trying to figure out what weight I need for a bag
@AageKush
@AageKush 3 года назад
@@ricktunnissen3407 I haven't been able to deadlift or row after the lockdowns. I maxed 150kg after maybe a year of training, but then I started doing block pulls instead so it's hard to say. I can do plenty of pull ups, but I don't have any where near enough weights to row heavy. I can row 40kg for reps, but I don't know my max. My advice is to buy a big bag. Maybe even heavier than 90kg and use liner bags in increments of 10kg. And then find something that adds volume without much weight. I used some old clothes, but you can be creative. 60kg was surprisingly difficult for me, but it was just light enough for me to start of with. Then I got stronger pretty fast(anytime you try a new lift you progress pretty quickly). So you're probably going to be much weaker initially than what you end up working with.
