@@elizabethshingola2787 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😊😊😊🎸😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 Me, too! And, I saw LED ZEPPELIN in 1977, 1985 and 1988. It's such a "really big shame" that although ROBERT "THE PLANTER" PLANT no longer wants to ever tour with PAGE, JONES AND JASON BONHAM...after doing the concert @ the O2 ARENA in 2007; I, along with my friends have wondered OVER THE YEARS: WHY THEY COULD NOT OCCASIONALLY RELEASE SOME NEW MUSIC COLLECTIVELY OR TOGETHER...? I don't think that is really asking for "too much". Nobody is expecting another: "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN," "KASHMIR," "WHOLE LOTTA' LOVE," "CAROUSELAMBRA," ETC. FROM THEM, BUT... RELEASING SOME NEW MUSIC PERIODICALLY... DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ASKING FOR A HECKUVA' LOT. They're "older now" and dealing with the "rigors of the road" at this point in time, may not be too appealing or palatable to them. But, having said that, if they were to have somehow "undertaken" some type of tour after the O2 ARENA show, I don't think that they would have been "slumming it" on the road. I rather think that they would have been touring: SPLENDIFEROUSLY, LUXURIOUSLY, PALATIALLY AND EXTRAVAGANTLY. Tour buses or busing would not have factored into the equation. People who I have "chatted or spoken" to or with have commented to me the following: "PAGE, PLANT, JONES... with JASON BONHAM or TONY THOMPSON ( drummer of CHIC and was rumored to be working with the guys in 1990... ) could release an album /CD of CHRISTMAS SONGS or ELVIS PRESLEY tunes that they decided to do coverversions of, and... IT WOULD SELL A LOT OF COPIES, UNITS, ETC.------- THE AMOUNT OF UNITS SOLD WOULD BE SIMPLY PHENOMENAL. Why...? BECAUSE OF THE NAME: LED ZEPPELIN BEING INVOLVED IN THE EQUATION. This I do know, as well as most "enlightened" fans: PLANT, PAGE, JONES CAN RELEASE SOLO EFFORTS, AND TO QUOTE ROBERT PLANT WHEN HE WAS TALKING ABOUT "PRESENCE" OR... MORE THAN LIKELY, "IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR" WITH LOS ANGELES DISC JOCKEY, J.J. JACKSON IN 1979: "A LED ZEPPELIN ALBUM WILL SELL ... BECAUSE OF THE NAME. IT'LL SELL A LARGE QUANTITY OF UNITS...IF IT'S GOOD, AND...'TO A DEGREE'...IF IT'S NOT GOOD...!" Having said that: As with the ROLLING STONES, JAGGER and RICHARDS can release solo efforts, but... they're NOT going to sell as well as a release under the name or banner of: THE ROLLING STONES. So, it would be so cool, so great, so much fun for the LED ZEPPELIN fans for the remaining members to "sporadically" or "occasionally" release some new music together. ******* AND: I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT RELEASING "REMASTERED" TUNES WHICH WERE ALREADY RELEASED IN 1990 AND 1992 ON THE FIRST TWO LED ZEPPELIN BOX SETS, WHICH WAS FOLLOWED BY THE BOX SET OF ALL OF THE ALBUMS BEING RELEASED TOGETHER., ETC., ETC.,ETC. PLEASE: ENOUGH WITH REMASTERING ALREADY "REMASTERED" TRACKS. HERE'S AN IDEA: REMASTER "CAROUSELAMBRA" SO THAT THE LYRICS IN THE FIRST PART OR SECTION OF THE SONG ARE COMPREHENDABLE, DECIPHERABLE OR UNDERSTANDABLE. DITTO FOR "IN THE EVENING". LLLLLLLLLOOOOOLLLLLL...!!!!!!! LLLLLLLLLOOOOOLLLLLL...!!!!!!! LLLLLLLLLOOOOOLLLLLL...!!!!!!! THAT'D BE AWESOME...! ******* Will this idea of "new music" ever "come to pass or fruition"? Nope...! The remaining members of the band: ARE SET-UP FOR LIFE: THIS LIFETIME AND ALL OF THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS FOR MANY LIFETIMES TO COME. I THINK THAT THE TERM IS CALLED: "GENERATIONAL WEALTH". I'm not envious, jealous or covetous. NOR ARE MY FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCES INTO THE WHOLE "LED ZEPPELIN" EXPERIENCE...!!!!!!! Just simply stating the facts of the situation. LLLLLLLLLOOOOOLLLLLL...!!!!!!! ALAS, JOHN PAUL... JIMMY... ROBERT: HEED THE WORDS OF "OLDER" LED ZEPPELIN FANS WHO ARE NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER...! REMEMBER: 1- NO MORE "REMASTERING" ALREADY REMASTERED TUNES AND TRACKS. 2- NEW MATERIAL. HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ONE AND ALL...!!!!!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
I love the part where Alison briefly forgets the words during Rock and Roll. Her performances are always so deliberate and flawless, but she just laughs and smiles at Robert and keeps on rocking. I wonder if singing with someone as creative and charismatic as Robert Plant is freeing for her. I'm sure he's learned a lot working with her as well. They are absolute fire together!🔥Such a great performance!
I think these two together are the best music I have ever seen and I'm 68 so I've seen plenty. And I play the electric bass! I wish it was with them! I believe Robert is around 73 years and he has preserved that voice??? and can still hit the high notes!
If Robert must do country, I am really glad he is doing some Zep country. It puts the spark back in his eyes and makes me very happy! I will always love it anytime he sings though. He's still got that amazing voice and charisma.
Just saw this concert last night in Atlanta. Mind-blowing! The pairing of these two is a stroke of genius. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen! Thank you for posting this!
Wonderfully arranged. It’s great how he can take these iconic songs and actually do them Justice by representing them as the man he is now and not the man he was.
Most astute comment here. Robert Plant has nothing to prove to anyone. He honours the songs of his past with his current performance. They stand alone but together . Awesome, just awesome.
@@StreetTruckinTitan I really liked the performance, but his voice did give out a couple times nearer to the beginning of the song. He got a bit stronger near the end. I think it’s because he has lost most his higher register, and while the song doesn’t require much power, it does require to be in a consistent high register, which is now more difficult for him. He has lost his power and some range, but I don’t believe he’s lost “it”. His tone is greater than ever. His musicality is higher than ever. He has matured a lot with his understanding of music and singing. He’s not the wailing herald of the gods anymore, but that’s because he’s become a mystical, beautiful, and haunting god himself. I truly do like his tone and his aura now more than in zeppelin (even though zeppelin will always be my favorite musical artist). But his sound on modern albums like “Carry Fire” and “Raise the Roof” and “Raising Sand” and “Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar” is absolutely beautiful and haunting. You can say I’m wrong, but I don’t think so.
@👉 Plantrobert271 Gmail God i wish i could have been there.Robert i've seen you 6 Times and every time was Amazing.Your voice/singing still sounds Fantastic!!Alison Sounds Awesome Too!!Thank You for the Memories!!
The Battle of Evermore should be released in this version on country radio. Just goosebumps. Both voices laid in perfectly. The band has this arrangement nailed.
A brave and bold act by them both to perform this set of pieces. Especially for Allison who really does not need to offer any further evidence of her complete talents as a singer and songwriter...but to do “The Battle of Evermore” -- all the parts originally sung by the incomparable Sandy Denny...just stunning. For those of you who "grok" this comment but may have never heard of the music by Sandy Denny, do yourself a favor...find her 3 disc compilation--*Who Knows Where the Time Goes...?” Press play. You're welcome. Actually, if these two could get together with say…Richard Thompson and or Martin Carthy for a tribute album to Sandy…it would be … ineffably beautiful.
Sandy Denny needs to be discovered by a wider audience. She was a brilliant songwriter and had a beautiful voice. Led Zeppelin recognised this in asking her to duet with Robert Plant.
actually there are sandy denny box sets out there that contain much wonderful unheard/barely heard stuff that pack a real wallop...... the outtakes with just sandy & piano are simply awesome and utterly essential listens for the rock consumer......
He sounds amazing, he's not doing a tour he didn't want to do for money. His voice is where he's comfortable, and at his age, it's pretty amazing voice. He's doing things his way and he turned down stupid amounts of money so he could live his best life. Go Robert!
They're so damned good together! And a huge cudos to Robert for finding ways to make these old Zeppelin numbers work for him in the present. I can think of a few other luminaries of yesteryear who'd do well to follow his example...
Absolutely! I've been a massive Zeppelin fan for longer than I care to remember and only discovered Alison after hearing the Raising Sand album.I was instantly hooked.I went to see them when they toured the UK in 2008 and was blown away. They sound so good together and I love their reworkings of the old Zeppelin songs.Their treatment of Black Dog was particularly good, really laid back and bluesy. Her stuff with Union Station is a bit special too.
Because he can still sing, and he's bigger draw than Allison, so they can sell a lot of tickets and make some of that "good money". He is also a big fan of bluegrass music.
OMG! This is the best thing since Led Zep IV!!!!!! Legend status right here! So cool that Robert teamed up with Alison on this!💖💖 🤘😎🤘 ROCK ON!!!!👍 *EDIT:* Battle of the Evermore literally brought me to tears!!!! Sooo good!😍👍
I’ll add 1970, saw LZ at MSG in 73. Love this man so much and so happy to see him continue with whatever makes him happy. Will be seeing these 2 beautiful people in June in NJ
Saw them 6/23. Excellent. That is her brother Victor standing behind her. No Stairway or Kashmir, darn. These two are more than just a singing duo, you can see the sparkle in her eye.
Thank you for sharing this. The Husband and I were there. I'm still pinching myself and am like OMG! I SAW ROBERT PLANT!!! (Zeppelin fan in high school) LOL
We saw them the night before up in Saratoga! I felt the same.... fantastic concert and beautiful harmonies they share, along with a band of spectacular musicians! A night to remember, for sure!
RP is the man. He crosses all boundaries with his voice & lyrics. His combination’s with Allison feature two great all time Artist’s of their genre…. performing together..,.
What the hell!? This is so frickin good! I guess this is why Robert Plant and Zepellin got where they did. This ensemble is tremendously great!!!! Bravo!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I was at this show and thought i was going to lose my mind! SO happy that I went. Kudos to Alison for complimenting him so well. I did not expect them to play these songs :) BONUS!
Their version of “The Battle of Evermore” is fantastic. Her voice is crystalline pure. As for Robert Plant…we talk of how well or poorly the voices of the legendary singers have aged. In his case I honestly think he may be better than at the pinnacle of Zep. His musical trajectory continues to soar ever higher. Unbelievable, really.
I tend to agree with you. he has developed a really pleasing depth that augments his pitch, rather than the youthful screech of his youth, which was also appropriate for the "before-times Zep".
I saw them last night in Cary and the night before that I saw the Doobie Brothers in VA beach with Michael Macdonald and Macdonald sounded amazing but you can definitely tell a difference in his voice compared to what it used to be but Plants voice is superb and really has aged like fine wine I saw the Eagles a few months ago and Don Henley is another one that’s voice has aged amazing as well
He did what most aging front men do . Get someone younger with a range that can reproduce the studio sound he made in the seventies. He has held up well however compared to others , and pairing up with Allison several years ago was fantastic move . Bluegrass & Zeppelin, , it won't work they said . Hold my beer Robert said . ! 😎
I know they did an album together....great album. But never did I think Allison would be doing Zeppelin. But then again, I though Plant doing an album with Krauss was crazy til I heard the album. Plus Plant did hang out for a number of years with Gillian Welch and Krauss has done songs with a number of different artists from different genres. I love it!
My favorite people. My favorite music. Thank you for taking me back to better days in Miami Beach, Florida. I'm 65 now but I'll never forget!! 👩🦳✌️✊️❤❤❤❤❤❤
It is Mrs Krauss NOT Miss krauss. Alison is happily married Thankyou. Alison & patty loveless are two of the best blue grass musicians and singer song writers.
"The Battle of Evermore" brought me to tears was so fantastic..(Was thinking of a woman in England as well, but emotional and powerful rendition) I love them together,wonderful..
I love his voice. My turn on to led was 1971 First song. Squeeze my lemon till the juice runs down my leg. I was blind sided. Finished the album and fell in love with LED Zeppelin 💋
Quite inventive of him to change the arrangements to suit his current vocal range. He always said he never liked the ideal of doing Led Zeppelin songs when his voice could no longer reach those notes, but quite a clever way to get around that. Didn't need to really change Battle of Evermore though, and Allison's voice sounds even more lovely than Sandy Denny (RIP). Interesting twist on When the Levee Breaks, giving it sort of an Indian feel.
"Crying won't help you, praying won't do you no good No, crying won't help you, praying won't do you no good When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move"
Great- saw R.P & Zep - both Live 3x times each in past.- The Greatest gift & The way i feel..R.P songs & In the light & rain song fav zep song.. Good Video thanks ..
It’s awesome when you can see him enjoying every second ! Alison is so low key you don’t see her jamming out too much, but you can tell she gets a kick out of Robert!
