I thought Tim Buckley and This Mortal Coil did a very very good job with that song, but the shivers this man can create after just 20 seconds is ... the reason why he is Robert Plant, the one and only.
@@elisabethbichler9634 this is the most beautiful version of my most favorite song. when my time is up on this planet, i hope to have this playing as i cross over. it's great to see robert and allison having so much fun on their tour, but i wish robert could find a few more gems like this. his voice was created for this song. He really surprised me. Really managed to put he's own mark on this piece. I love the original and This Mortal Coils version but this holds up nicely as well.
What else would you expect from the legend himself, Robert Plant. A great song/ gift from the late great Tim Buckley. This Song must have been covered by many artists over the years. Bryan Ferry does a great interpretation of this song on his 2010 album `Olympia`, with great guitars from from David Gilmore, Phil Manzanera and Johnny Greenwood. The list of artist`s that love and sing this Song is a credit to it`s creator. Thank You Tim Buckley.
Those of you who are shocked and surprised by this have obviously never listened to, "Dreamland", from 2002 where the studio version of him singing this is from. Sigh. I swear. It irritates the hell out of me how certain people couldn't and can't keep up with the few solo l.p.s that have been done over the past couple of decades. No wonder Jimmy quit. Jolie got married. Should have known they'd never get far.
Robert Plant without Led Zeppelin nobody heard about you, so you don't have to say that you are bored of Led Zeppelin because without them you are nobody.

If you love the song, check out Tim Buckley's version (the man who wrote it), or Dead Can Dance, or This Mortal Coil, or......I'm not sure which one is my favorite- probably depends on the mood I'm in.
Wow! It appear that E! Entertainment Television was involved with this according to the logos at the end! I am assuming this was the now defunct for twenty years channel that was shown in the U.S. for the decade before. I wonder why they were involved with this if this never aired on it or in the U.S....as far as I know at least, huh? Do any of you?
I thought Robert was only doing teeny tiny venues that year while on tour?! Like little holes in the wall?! I had no knowledge he did a single solitary show in a bigger venue than those. As a matter of fact it was understood that the venues were not even allowed to announce and or inform anyone he was going to be showing up and performing. And if they did...if a single word got out that he was...then it would be cancelled! I can't believe I am seeing this. Is this the right year and date?! It's not from 2002? As it was the touring he did that year was with and under the name Priory Of Brian and as members changed during the tour they became something else. That being, The Strange Sensation. Even then that was the only name they used without Robert's being in it at all. So no one would know he was involved. Pretty sure at the size of the audience here they knew he was involved in this show. I mean in the year 2000 he cut his hair and announced his retirement when he did his hand print at Disney World!
They barely show the keyboardist here. Full disclosure I have mainly just jumped around in this video at this point but...is the The Priory Of Brian or The Strange Sensation? The reason I ask is because when Robert toured that year it was with The Priory Of Brian and then members changed over time and it morphed into this new thing that they called The Strange Sensation...and again...it was without using Robert's name.
@@howard5992 Yeah, and he always sings unfold in every version (not only live) of this beautiful song. And btw no other interpreter makes this song his own the way Robert does.
