Larry is absolutely right, this movie is a funny slice of life. Each time when i saw this movie again, i started to like it more and it became my favorite. It's nice to see Robert Redford and Nick Nolte together.

Redford is an intellectual. Still sharp. Nolte is like a growly bear pirate and so instinctually raw and spot on. What a team. Loved this movie. They dont make good movies like this that have every day real life themes for a family. I could see with their personalities offsetting each other how the comedy just happened without trying. Gem of a movie. Bryson one of my favorite authors.

I luv these guys they are strong talented intelegent and warm. Im 62 and always remember what my grandpa. Said "time marches on but your spirit remains the same. I loved Nick automaticly from His roll in rich man poor man, and also his roll in the Prince of Tides. And Redford in his portrayal In The Sundance kid and The way we were. And in on the latter that sort of what happened in my life. Even though to this day I still love and respect her. These were very special moments in my life In the sense of cinema. They made me look at life a different way. Thank you both for your wonderful Contribution and perspective. I can now understand the song from Frank, "Thats Life"

Love these 2 guys. Rich Man Poor Man was a great mini series and had a big impact on my boxing. Jeremiah Johnson an epic I love the Rockies and survival.

This was one of those movies that Hollywood doesn’t make anymore. Redford was correct, the vision he had for him and Nolte, it’s almost as if they were the real characters!!!!! If you haven’t seen the movie, check it out!!!!

You realize that every subject they speak about was also a Redford movie, so many good movies, and he doesn’t even list them, Brubaker was awesome.

I love them both. I started to like Nick Nolte in the movie Warrior and then in The Angel has fallen. And I never knew the Indecent proposal movie. I just watched it last month 1993 movie of Demi Moore and Robert .Then I started to fall in love with Redford. I watched once only because I don't like movie with bed scene. But I like the acting of Redford there and so handsome in that movie Indecent proposal.

I loved Nick Nolte in this film. Also the latest movie with Gerard Butler - Angel Has Fallen...his chemistry with Gerard was really good. Nick can do great comedy movies. And Redford - one of my favorite actors.

I watched the movie last night and loved it. It’s not only laughs, there’s a serious theme and some serious moments that make you think. I recommend it!

I love them both. I don't know for sure who the better actor is.

It's a hilarious book. Bill Bryson is a funny writer. I laughed out loud reading every book of his I could.

Just saw this...you guys are amazing....funny...empathetic (big word for me but fits)...and regardless of filming saviors...this had to be physically demanding of these two actors...I have so many memories of these two in films...I often felt this response in this movie....OUCH! My favs of Nick...Cannery Row...Prince of Tides...Ill Do Anything..etc...Robert...Barefoot in the Park...The Way We Were...Jeremiah Johnson....Our Souls at Night... These men have given me hours of movie loving them!!!

interestingly Larry King didn't discuss that Nolte mother's maiden name was also King. The first film i remember seeing Nick Nolte in was "Rich Man Poor Man series.. his charactor in the film was of a criminal and alcoholic etc.. I wonder how much playing that role could have bled off into his real life and how he interacted with other IRL and his esteem etc. I have seen so many people that play those kind of roles and afterwards it seems like they live that life off the screen.. and it can affect them negatively.
