ROBERT REED - Sanctuary (vinyl video drop) 

We live in a world where there are thousands of pop bands that sound the same, thousands of doom metal bands that sound the same, thousands of rappers that sound the same.... and yet this guy gets crucified for being the only musician on earth that can get close to Mike Oldfield's early album sound??? I don't get it. This is a great work that stands up on its own. Sure, he's got Oldfield's language and forms down but Mike didn't create those out of thin air - he had his influences too (Bedford for one!). Rob Reed is a fantastic multi-instrumentalist - his playing is top notch and his production is wonderful. There is nothing cheap about this. Yes, there is homage but there are fresh ideas too. We're lucky to have such music.

Music in this form will always sound like Mike. But since Mike is now (semi) retired, it's lovely that someone takes up the banner and makes beautiful and meaningful music.

I love Mike Oldfield's music, so thanks for this.👍

No conozco mucho a Robert Reed y me parece que he estado metido en una cueva desde hace 4 años. Me parece una pasada!

Muy grande Robert Reed. Ha escrito tres monumentos de amor a la música de Mike Olfield, que por momentos superan al original (desde luego al Mike Olfield actual, perdido desde hace años). Este Sanctuary I me parece muy bueno, y el recién publicado Santuary III una obra maestra a la altura de lo mejor de Oldfiel... Ojala nos siga regalando su música durante muchos años. Creí que jamás volvería a escuchar algo así. Lo considero un regalo.

One of the best things about Mike Oldfield is the immense originality and uniqueness to the music. This is literally the least original/unique music I've ever heard. Although I still love it by proxy lol
