He comes in like a storm which is whatthe 1st mov . of the Fantasy is . Just a rustle behind us in the left hand one feels no pulse but it is a living thing ! Incredible Trifonov is ! Everything he touches ! and the sweetness and the quietude at the 3rd minute . There really is noone like him !

One of Schumanns most brilliant piano pieces. It starts with his op 15, then goes over op 16 to this final destination op 17. Daniil make his best to really make this gem shine in front of us.

You know, I was not very impressed with his playing when he won the Tchaikovsky. It came off like most prize winners, generic, inoffensive, and neither personal nor adventurous. But this is marvelous! So committed, imaginative, and very personal, as lyric as anything. Just wonderful.

"Beyond the pale" means irredeemably crazy. Is that what you mean? "The Pale" was an area in the east of Ireland beyond which people were considered too crazy for the British occupier to venture there.
Schumann did not die of suicide, although he did throw himself into the Rhine river once, which seems to have been a suicide attempt. Also, why do you think he looked like Trifonov looks here?
There are many great performances of this composition. But this is the first time I said to myself, "ah, this is what this piece is about and what Schumann was expressing". Is there any other living pianist as authentic and technically able as Trifonov?

Wow. Didn’t know it could be played this way. Magnificent. Very Schumann indeed. Know Daniil doesn’t need to see the keyboard, but all that hair over his face is scary. Is this the “image” he has designed for himself? Whatever, he is a brilliant, marvellous musician.
Many geniuses are on the strongly autistic end of the spectrum, and their presentability is less important to them than their art, whereas we lesser beings feel the need to fit in! Isn’t it nice that we don’t have to be like anyone else? 🙂
Ein " Image" braucht Daniil Trifonov sicher nicht.er ist eine starke, hochintelligente Persönlichkeit, ehrlich ,bescheiden und äußerst liebenswürdig. Nichts an ihm ist aufgesetzt. Er trägt das Haar nach hinten gekämmt, und man sieht sein schönes Gesicht, aber bei seinem sehr körperlichen und leidenschaftlichen Spiel fliegt es , von ihm unkontrollierbar da seine ganze Aufmerksamkeit der Musik gilt. Er ist völlig selbstvergessen. Dieses Stück spielte er nach dem ersten Teil eines anspruchsvollen Solo Recitals in Salzburg. ( Mit Standing Ovations ) Er hatte im Sommer fast täglich einen Konzert- Termin, und sich darauf seelisch und körperlich vorzubereiten war ihm wichtiger als das Haar schneiden zu lassen. Inzwischen ist es kürzer. Grüße aus der Schweiz !😊
Natürlich sehe ich dies auch dass er ungepflegt wirkt. Aber beim ersten Anschlag der Tasten trifft er mein Herz auf tiefste Weise - und ich sehe und höre nur noch Schönheit !

I don’t know how Daniil can play with such long nails without getting caught in between especially with the terrible jumps that pianists have to endure in the march movement. I’ll be calling him Paganini soon if he doesn’t cut those forelocks. 😉
if you soften the palps of the fingers you don't engage the flexors in the forearm, allowing for much more efficient playing. Using the next phalanx in proximal you are only engaging the palmar muscles of the hand. a rock climber knows the toughest grip is the last phalanx - a brilliant design - but you don't need all that strength for piano. Loudness comes from velocity of key strike not sustained strength

Skriabin Piano Sonata nr.5 fis dur, Tchaikowsky's Kinderalbum, Mozart Fantasie in c moll, Schuhmann ( Video ) 3 Stücke von Ravel und Gaspard de la nuit. ( Die genaue Reihenfolge weiß ich nicht) Ich staune über seine psychische und physische Energie ! Macht mir aber auch Sorgen in Anbetracht der vielen Konzerte auf seinem Plan.

I must say most all of this was very, very good. I've heard every great pianist do this piece and then some. For the life of me I don't understand the excessive speed starting at the 27:50 mark. The crescendo/ accelerando is just way, way to fast and ruins the effect of what comes before it. No doubt Trifonov is a great pianist with infallible fingers but I don't know what he was thinking there. What a shame because the rest was fabulous.

Раду Лупу в1962 году поступил в Московскую консерваторию и окончил ее.У него русская школа игры на фортепиано. Он восхитительно музыкален,эмоционален и страстен в своей игре.Все эти каче ства есть и у Даниила. Петербург.
Ja, er spielt vollkommen vergeistigt und jenseits dessen, was man normalerweise auch mit viel Begabung und Üben erreichen kann. Aber ich kann es nicht genießen. Kümmert sich denn jemand um ihn? Irgendwie wird er immer zauseliger. Schuhmann selbst hat sich auch verloren in der Musik.
