I feel most performances of this piece make the mistake of treating it like Chopin, as a piece of delicate craftsmanship whose edges are sanded down. This performance is one of the few that demonstrates the extremes of Schumann's wild imagination and flits between them at a dime. The Aveu was absolutely exquisite.
