Utterly beautiful! It has the real ‘innigkeit’ of the Schumann style.

The one recording of this impossibly beautiful concerto I keep coming back to, even more than to Gieseking or Lipatti or the many other beautiful performances.

Cortot et Schumann = génies

A fine performance with both poetry and musical energy (though I'm not so keen on the grandiose way the finale commences!). Seeing the conductor's name reminds me of a silly joke I once heard: Why did Sir Adrian Boult? Because he thought Sir Henry Wood Land on Ronald!

Strangely enough, he was in better form during the Thirties than the decade before. His later recording - again with Ronald - is superior in every way.

What a difference from his later recording with Fricsay. Vivre le difference!! :-))

Très inférieur à son interprétation de 1936 en Uruguay, merveilleuse malgré un son déplorable.
