Great! Put a smile on my face. I am a Jazz player, but listen to classic saxophone a lot and have friends playing classic. For me there is no barrier. I just love cats who can really deal on their horn! Dig! This is some seriously good music being played wonderfully by Robert Young! Now there are many young players doing both. Music is music.

Great to have the chance to hear this performance again. It's every bit as impressive as I remember - even with the far less forgiving aspect of a close microphone. Such a demanding work - I think I used the word "relentless" after hearing it the first time - but there was never any doubt as to your mastery of it. Also loved watching the reactions on the face of the flutist behind you (who I believe was also a saxophonist with the Navy Commodores), especially to that flawless diminuendo early in the piece. _Bravo ancora!_

Amazing playing. Definitely an inspiration to work on my altissimo. It does amaze me how modern composers seem to think everything needs to sound like a soundtrack to a horror flick.

In the description, wasn't this George Mason University, not JMU? I remember seeing this performance at sax symposium. Very well done!

Sounds great friend! I'm not a fan of the piece though, it sounds boringly similar to a stack of other "saxophone and band" pieces.

The first thing the OP said was "Sounds great." Why does he(?) get so much flak for expressing an opinion on the piece?

@grovonator -- Thanks Dan! (Dan is an old high school buddy...I don't find anything he said to be out of line. We don't have to like every piece we hear.). Thanks for listening, Dan! Much appreciated.
