In this video Robin Hood in the USA, Kevin Hicks shares his own personal Bowman's story of working on behalf of Warwick Castle, when he became stranded in the USA in September 2001. Getting into trouble with security over the mall walkers, an escalator incident and of course the bleak experience of becoming stranded after the catastrophic event that shocked the world, when two aeroplanes, hit two of the tallest towers in New York city.

@@bostonrailfan2427 I think that we realized we were natural allies in WWI. Certainly the Brits wanted to encourage us to come in on their side, but backing fellow Democracies was the natural choice for the US. Then in WWII our bond was sealed. Since then, the US and the UK have had each other's back, even when it wasn't convenient. The US backed the UK in the Falklands even though it meant violating our treaty with Argentina, which was shameful for us. The UK backed the US through some pretty bad days in the War on Terror. We are now family. We have essentially similar goals.

Let it play in the background and read comments, it gives Kevin a higher score in ad sense and thus a small amount more money. I was in 5th grade, and remember seeing all of the wheel in tvs with the vhs players (remember, the school day nostalgia?) In every classroom. Me, being young, got excited, to think that we'd be watching Bill Nye, or some history documentary. Although I understood what was happening, the gravity of the situation didn't strike me until later that day, and why there were tvs everywhere. Although I lived on the west coast at the time, it literally affected EVERYONE in America. We're in a shitty situation at the moment, and have been for years, but regardless, I love my country. What a fun story ... and then oh, my gosh! It must have been such a bizarre experience living through that as a visitor in the country expecting to go home that day. (I mean, as an American it was bizarre and terrifying enough just being at home in Arizona, far away from the attacks but still feeling the impact.) Understandable why the folks at the Mall on that last day you were there would find solace and inspiration in what you said. What a story. Thanks for sharing it!

This pulled at my heart strings. ❤ You're living a courageous, impactful, and truthful life. Im American and I was in my high school art class when our teacher turned on the tv. The TV being turned on in school was always an exciting moment for every age, because it usually meant more entertainment than work, and a chance to goof of a little. That day, of course, was different. We didn't know what we were seeing and what was coming. The world is different now. The lingering happiness of the 90s with the Spice Girls and boy bands was officially over. I miss those days.

What can I say, Kev? Another tremendous story. I wish I could reach through the ether and shake your hand as one archer to another (I did that in person at Warwick Castle once!). I was in Canada at the time of the Twin Towers, earning my living in theatre and in medieval reenactments. I had ten shows on my books then and nine of them cancelled immediately as no one wanted to gather in public spaces any more. I ended up moving home to New Zealand. That's a long way to reach out for a handshake, but I would if I could. Well done, mate!

Good story Kevin. I am an archer myself, though I use a double recurve bow rather than a longbow. I remember that day and saw the second plane hit the tower. That night as I sat on my front porch I noticed that there were no aircraft in the sky. Normally there would be all kinds of planes, large and small,as there are several large airports and a military base not far from me. It was very peaceful.

Thank you, Kevin! Thank you for such an amazing story. A story that had me laughing at the beginning but moved me in the end. I’m from Minnesota (from St. Paul which is next to Minneapolis), a state known for its cold harsh winters, an overly exaggerated accent all thanks to Hollywood, and as you know so well, the Mall of America. And I shall remember that day for the rest of my life. I was 18 years old at the time and had just began my first few days at the university, living with three new roommates. And that very morning, I woke up and noticed my roommates glued to the TV. “A plane crashed into one of the towers.” Again, no one knew what was happening. I was also confused and went to the showers to prepare for class. When I returned to my room, my roommates said, “Another plane flew and hit the twin towers. We’re under attack.” I then went to my morning class and our professor tried to calm everyone down from what had just happened. Then, he received a call that the university decided to halt all classes starting at noon. And for the rest of the day, we all watched our televisions, confused, heartbroken, scared, helpless. Anyway, thank you for the video. Thank you for being there at the mall, giving hope to those who had none. ❤️

Man, that was a fantastically well-told story-thank you🙌🏾 I was in an Air Traffic Control Tower on an Air Force Base on that day, watching the entirety of the U.S. airspace come to a dead stop and then seeing WHY was surreal and unforgettable…

Sadly a lot of Americans are over weight.. and it’s crazy to think about what you were doin on September 11th compared to what I was doin. Your day seems why more intense bein at the MOA.
