No piercings in their face, technicolour hair or built like a barn door. I grew up in the 60's/70's and was blessed. Take away the Vietnam War and serious drugs and it would have been perfect. 👍
@@ukmedicfrcs they had them, but it just wasn’t common place. I believe it was in 1945 during the tail end of World War II when the first official tattoo artist came on scene he was an SGI and he thought that it was unfair that people had a negative opinion on tattoos so he tried to make it a common practice but a lot of people did not, make it known that they had tattoos because it was tattooed back then. I don’t know what the whole problem was with it. I personally would never want one myself, but I respect people who choose to get one and a lot of women back then I’m sure got them. They just did not talk about it, or share it, and they usually got it on a spot on their body where nobody could see it underneath their clothes. I am a 31-year-old woman, and have thought about getting tattoos in the past, but I have just never really desired to have one. I figure if my grandfather never had a tattoo or my grandmother never had a tattoo that I am aware of. why would I get one?
As a baby boomer I agree with the responses..EVERY generation thinks theirs was the best…I spent 18 months in Vietnam from 17…19 years old, we had our own music that my parents disliked…but it was great because we were young….like all of you today! Enjoy your youth!👍🏽😊
Damn, what a gorgeous woman. Ladies Ladies, Please, where are these types of women with dresses, looks and hair like that? Where have they all gone? No tattoos. Oh the humanity.
@@stevenmyhre2242 Boomers be boom in’, I’m one of the youngest ones, and this kind of talk about “women today” is so damn misogynistic, I have to speak out.
I wore a dress this short when I was at a parochial school in 1971. They didn't care as long as it was a dress and not pants. !! I love everything about this video. It's one of the first songs I remember, and I really appreciate Robin Mary Paris now that I'm older. You earned your angel wings, girl - fly!
DIZZY I'M SO DIZZY MY HEAD IS SPINNING , I WAS 15 YEARS OLD WHEN THAT SONG CAME OUT 1 OF MY FAVORITE SONGS... I'M 69 TODAY AND I STILL LISTEN TO THAT SONG. THE GIRL DANCING ROBBIN MARY PARIS SHE WAS GREAT, BUT SADLY SHE PASSED AWAY IN 2022 RIP GIRL, WE WON'T FORGET YOU....BRING BACK THE 60'S AND 70'S ...
@@harrodsfan True. There is nothing anywhere that states that she has passed. Some of the info is quite current. So let's assume she's still very much alive.
Summer1969, i was on the english border(england-scotland) and exactly in berwick on tweed , i was 19 years old, this song brings back lovely memories of that period, this was in the uk top ten at the first place for several weeks, ciao all Berwick citizens with immense Nostalgia 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹ciao PIERO, DIZZY!!!👏👋🍸🐾💽💿
If you can remember this DoD vid, you're going back quite a ways. A different time and a different place, a million miles away and a thousand years ago. Gone but not forgotten. GBA/LLR
Girls were so much more girly in those days. You could fall in love with most of them. (Barbara Eden, Ann Margret, Raquel, Nancy Sinatra, just to name a few. And you could flirt without the "you can't do that committee" starting an inquisition against you for small talk.
"Just discovered her today and I'm blown away by her style, groove, rhythm, and immaculate timing on the dance floor. She makes Madonna's 1980s dance moves look stiff in comparison! 🔥💃 #dancingqueen #newdiscovery #impressivemoves"
Madonna was always trying to make dance about raw sexuality. That must necessarily produce a good deal that seems stiff and another good deal that seems vulgar. Mary Robin Paris is dancing to express things like joy, excitement and love , and so a natural and healthily restrained sexuality shines forth.
This video really surprised me. I was in the Army at this time 68-70 wearing that same uniform as a pfc and sp4. I had a interesting job that was quite challenging in an underground commcrnter. On our time off we would go to the NCO club and dance, dance, dance to this song and Na, Na, kiss him goodbye and many others. I am now 75 and doing great for the most part. That uniform was our summer uniform. I thought it was very uncomfortable with all the starch in it. So I rarely worn unless it was required. I loved my class A uniform much better. What memories. Met my hubby while serving and we are still together. Thanks for the memories who ever put this together. ❤❤❤❤
Women back then were so much better looking. Healthy, no tattoos. no awful piercings long hair, minimal makeup, thin and feminine. Tell me I’m not correct.
In 1969 I was the ships radio operator onboard the Fishery Protection Vessel HMS Keddleston. A small ship, the skipper allowed me to play music throughout the ship and I played this song. Tony Blackburne was the DJ who announced it and after it played he said the song would go nowhere. I thought at the time, Tony you are clueless. it went straight to number one. The 60's were great.
That girl's dance moves are soooo smooooth! Gorgeous! Great song from my mid-teen years. God bless you, Tommy! - yer Pal - Curly Howard - PS: Hiya Babe! Woo-woo-woo! My! Ain't she perty!
Oh my goodness, I use to love this song 💝 I was nine years old and I remember listening to music with my friends in school break and one of the Nuns, Sister Nildred, new it by heart... Great memoirs from those "Golden Years" 💝
Co-written by Roe and Freddy Weller, "Dizzy" was a major hit on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks in March 1969, for one week on the UK Singles Chart in June 1969, and was number one in Canada in March 1969. Also reached number two in Australia & Ireland & number 4 in Norway & West Germany.
This video is about Robin Mary Paris who is also nicknamed "The Dancing Troll" because of her dancing ability. You giving out information about who wrote the song is irrelevant. Give credit where credit is due.
Tommy Roe, y su inolvidable Dizzy . Fue todo un perfecto hit, en 1969 y a principios de los 70s, en el Perú y la belleza de Robin Mary, sencillamente única, auténtica, espectacular. Saludos desde Lima.
Thank you.. listening and watching this, I'm 13 again. Time stands still as music all around is beautiful and exciting. and so are the lovely ladies of this video.
That really stings. I actually did some research on her a while back. She had married a doctor and was living in Michigan. It hurts a little bit to hear that she's passed on.
@@izom Oh yes I love mine too great for navigating in the Rocky Mountains 🏔️ to favorite trout fishing streams~rivers. One morning there were perfect 5” muddy footprints made by a pine marten or fisher cat on her black seat. I love nature.
@Sonja Gatto... I was 11 and you were 19, so eight years after she was still a hit ✌️☮️ Did you mean "dankeschön" (thank you) in German? Blessings from the Universe 🙌🏻🌈🌞💫💌
Perfect Beauty! No fat; No tats; No piercings; No ridiculous fake breasts; No attitude; No man-hating; No idiocy; No bra. Just pure beauty! Those Were The Days, My Friend! Never again to be equalled.
Absolutely 💯. Remember it well. Natural,no tattoos, no pink, blue, purple blue haired zombies. No nose, eyelid, tongue etc... Rings. So unattractive. Glad I lived it to experience the beauty in women then. Never to return.
In the mis 70's, my BFFs & I would take our 45's and record player to the local community building on Saturdays...crank the volume and DANCE!! 14 to 17 year olds just enjoying life back then..not a care in the world.
My heart skips a beat and does a backflip. 15 years before MTV! And I just heard today that the bass player on this track is Berry Oakley, later of Allman Brothers fame. Apparently he was also a session guy before joining the A Brothers.
@@markberryhill2715 This means that there were 3 former session players in the Allman Brothers Band. Duane, Berry, and Jaimoe. No wonder they were so tight and could improv so effortlessly.
@@billybupkis3688 Berry was also a guitar player. If what you say is right, then Oakley might have been on guitar. Dickey Betts was the one who mentioned this in one of the Allman Brothers documentaries. They both played together in a band called the Second Coming.
