I have seen almost every film and TV version of Robin Hood. This Robin of Sherwood series is still the best one. The characters are well developed...The series transports me to strange lands of ancient tales and mystic forests. Clannad's music, makes this series all the more magical...."Herne, protect us."
Robín had been muy héroe since I was a little child. Maybe I loved the carácter ' cos Disney' s Robín Hood was realized un my year of birth (don't make counts). Anyway it has been into my life ever! And ike you; I had watch every film and series of him, and yeah: there is no doubt this is the best! The best of course!! Salutes from México City! Herne, protect us!!
Three years ago, one of my oldest and closest family friends passed suddenly. Friend of my parents, all worked as animators together in the early 90s. She loved Robin of Sherwood like nothing else, from the time it aired. I remember her showing it to me for the first time when I was around 12, one of my fondest memories. Every get-together after that, it was a Dungeon board on the table and Clannad on the speakers. Fucking miss you like a limb, Sue. Nothing is forgotten. Nothing is ever forgotten.
Loved this version of Robin Hood...still stands out in my mind from a child up to this very day...The Clannad music also had such an impact & fit the series very well.....I missed the the good ol 80s.

Me too :-))) In Poland we watched in the 80s Robin of Sherwood every Sunday and we loved the serial so much !!! So nice lovley memories of my childhood and millions of kids in Poland too :-) Best Robin Hood ever ! Made in England ;-)

I wish I could see this series and listen to the music with the same innocense as I did the first time I saw it. I wish I knew nothing of the grief that came to follow. I wish that the mask of indifference that I had cultivated was enough to see me through that grief. I wish I had my wife.
That sounds heartbreaking. I'm very sorry for your loss. Life can suck in so many different ways, but I use shows like this to escape and get a break from it. It works to a point, but is of course no replacement for your loved ones
OMG how much i love this TV series and this music!!! I grew up watching this and i am 28 y old now. I am watching this again these days. I have never felt this as a story, but sth real !!! I looooveee Robinhood!!!!
I would watch this show as a toddler with my mom and I remembered loving this music and show. I’m so glad to find this. I just bought all the DVDs and watched them twice. So heart warming. Love to all “together we”
I loved watching this series as a young child in the 80s. It left an indelible impression and in all the subsequent film and tv versions of the legend I have seen, this is my favourite! I consider it as the quintessential adaptation of the legend; the soundtrack is sublime and is hauntingly beautiful! One final point, that also makes me smile is noticing actors that became famous years later.
From all I've seen and read, they did! They still speak about it as a great experience, one of the best in their lives and that they all still keep in touch with each other.
Love this song very much and robinhood is in my soul...their life is simple ,joyful and very memorable ....they enjoy nature and protect it..and nature has give valuable humanity..they fulfill their responsibilities ..this sense my mind blowing .. thank you richard carpenter .. I listened to this piece of music a lot as a kid, and it took me a while to realise that such a relaxed or festive sounding piece, actual had the sounds of battle and screaming in the background in it's later half. It suddenly takes on a different, more sobering feel when you finally hear it
I wish I could gift this original series, untouched apart from digitally re-enhanced (given its age) to the young people of today. Just come off the phone/the ipod, sit back and watch. Kids nowadays really did miss a great age in television with good, earthy realness. I wish they could access it.
