I met Robin in New York last year and took a picture with her. Really kind and beautiful lady, her and her girlfriend are a lovely couple and I wish them the best.
I am so happy for her. I have been watching GMA for the longest time and have seen her cancer journey and now I am so happy that she still has the strength to come out.
Sanaz Kharazmi You say "strength" ....Oh my goodness! "Strength" is when a fireman pulls a child out of a burning house or car. Strength is heroic! ! Coming out, as they say is just plain foolishness....it's sick. ...it's a disease! There is absolutely NOTHING heroics about being gay ! !

I love it that Ellen thanked Robin for coming out after Robin thanked her. Robin was so right. Ellen has helped thousands, if not millions of people live their truths in spite of the bigotry that still exists in this world.

So proud of both of these amazing women. No it didn't really come at a very big surprise when Robin came out, but it's still really important that she did and that she got such a great reaction from it. Robin and Ellen both are inspirations to LGBT people and represent part of an ever growing movement that demands more and more recognition daily.
I didn't even know that. I remember her as a sports reporter for WAGA Fox 5 in Atlanta,then she went to ESPN,and then went to Good Morning America. She is gorgeous looking. She played basketball in college. She was pretty good. She probably could have played in the WNBA.
I don't even know why "coming out" should even be an "expression" we use anymore. We're all just people, in love with someone, or in a relationship with somebody. What your gender is shouldn't even be an issue anymore ! Why do people still have to "hide" ? Why does " society " keeps on making an issue out of this ? No, I'm not "gay", I'm "straight", but I do love people, whatever their preferences in a partner (male, female, transgender, ...) may be ! We live in the 21st century for Pete's sake ! "Gay" has existed long before it even became a word, look at ancient history, Greece, for example. Or the Amazons ( the females riding horses, not the forest that is ). We're all Gods' children and He loves us equally, why can't we just do the same ? Love & Peace from Belgium !
I agree with you somewhat! And yes, God loves everyone .....but we are NOT all God's children. Read the Bible....only those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are God's children. John 1:12-13 says, " But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right ti become children of God, to those who believe in His Name; ...." And John 3:36 says: " He who believes in the Son of God has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son (Jesus) shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him".
I like Robin and Ellen from what I see from this side of my screen. No matter their sexual preferences owning one's truth is the most freeing thing that anyone of us can ever accomplish.
I requested tickets to Ellens show and never got a call back I will keep trying and trying over and over again till I get it Robin and Ellen are my top two people that I dream of meeting every day

These are two lovely women and I hope any young GLBT (or any age!) people out there who are afraid to come out, find this motivational and affirming. Unless your life or home is at stake when coming out (meaning, if you’re someone under 18) then get OUT and STAY out! Living a lie is dishonorable and you are worthy of the freedom to live your truth and if anyone can’t accept you (even family), keep on keepin’ on and let that judgement fall on them! Love these ladies! But Ellen paved the way and Robin still could’ve come out... not sure she needed to place blame on her GF as being the reason she could t have been openly gay. It doesn’t mean you have to talk about your dating life and she’s not followed by the paparazzi (only briefly while all this news broke) so that wouldn’t have been an excuse either. But I’m glad her GF woke up and realized that we hurt future generations and kids who look up to us when we CHOOSE to hide.
You know I watched the Espy awards of 2013, where she got an award for her courage, but also Dick and Rick got the Espy awards, Dick let Rick talk, as Dick said he would let his college educated son talk through a computer. I know them and they are amazing. You know when I heard you were gay, I had no problem. My sister was one, and when the laws came and said they could marry. None of my sisters, which there was 4 of us. The brothers didn't come. I convinced my sisters to go to her wedding, because she came to ours. Sadly she died in 2009 on brain cancer, spine, and bone cancer

Secondly: Sexual abuse: ( as is brought to the forefront, with the #Me Too Movement) may also be linked to former female athletes. It is the contention of many learned persons that sexual abusedid not just start recently in Women's Sports. Only Robin knows whether or not this criminal offense happened to her! This writer has no knowledge of such. Nevertheless, she was a great athlete! It's her prerogative to bring it up for full disclosure, "if" it ever occurred. There have (Always ) been reports that suggest the talk show host, was allegedly sexually abused! As a clinician, I / we, in the fields of Pyschology, Sociology etc. know that these forbidding events "often" change the Trajectory of your life! I really, really want to end here, but as a Survivor and Thriver , who experienced abuse! I want to say that having strong grandparents alive, who had blessed me with such a Strong , God and deliverance belief , mindset , strength. I NEVER wavered that way! But what I hope is that, (statically), it is men ; I hope that they will CHOOSE, not to rape their sons and daughters, nieces, nephews , grandchildren, etc.( even with the likelihood they were also raped). Thus "ending the cycle" of children continuing to role model rape behavior of "Raping" other children!!! Sidebar: Beware of the slumber party, etc.! One famous actress years ago admitted in print that she was raped at a slumber party while pretending to be asleep and said she liked it. If your "great grandmother" violated you, but touched certain erogenous zones in your body, your body would respond the same way due to the chemical release from sexual stimulation! Moreover, for some Physiological/mental illness evaluations may need to be done because of possible organic Criminal pathologies; i.e .some people who are compulsive with sexual abuse practices. Parenting classes taught by vetted, decent , wholistic parents may help men, women, who have been wrongly imprisoned; who were taken away from their boys and girls thru mass incarcerations, for literally, little or nothing. This would be favorable, because, in my opinion, when a boy has NO male role model, doesn't even know how to pee like a man, receive chance to smell like a man; ( only recieving scents, pheromones from their mothers and sisters) this too affects their masculinity!) They need to shave, arm wrestle, throw a football, have a dad to encourage and teach them to study, etc. re: the movie " BOYS IN THE HOOD". The character who had a dad present succeeded! He had a man to teach him the ways of manhood. Don't you think this affects their masculinity? Duh!!! LOL. Every society that wants to do well should support childrens' fathers to be in their homes and their should be ample work for them to do, as it once was in America, as late as the 1990's. Lastly, the study , science, Doctors of Endocrinology, now can help balance a man's testosterone levels, thus removing femininity, and vis a vi, for women who lack enough estrogen!! This is a newish way to balance hormones, and some researchers think that soy products, pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones to make the animals n other foods grow faster , inorder to produce money faster ; gmo products used by mothers/fathers , carry over invitro, while baby develops inside the mother's womb. Followed by adding it into babies, so- called milk, and foods. Please Check out/ google " NATIONAL GEOGRAPHICS " Magazine approx.
