In addition to being an awesome technician on his Stratocaster, Robin Trower gives the best "Guitar Face" around.

Robin Trower did some great collaborations with Jack Bruce. The First band was BLT. Very cool stuff.

Now this is what I call superior!! Yes Robin Trower, ex Paramounts ex Procol Harum, is the guitarist. The late great Jimmy Dewar, ex Stone The Crows, is the singing bassist. Not sure which drummer this is. Robin is really in the top tier in the guitar world. He spends alot of time channeling his inner Hendrix much like another unheralded guitarist in Frank Marino. This takes me back to my youth and just absolutely wearing out the grooves on my vinyl Bridge Of Sighs. Another one of those perfect albums with not one ounce of filler. This is the right way to start the weekend! Great reaction guys!!

Sifa, if you dig his playing, he’s been releasing albums for like 45 years now. His mid-70’s stuff, like this video, was at the height of his popularity, but he’s been keeping on all his life! His last album was last year, I believe 👍

Robin Trower "Daydream" , "Can't wait much longer" , "Bluebird" , "In this place" and "For Earth Below" just 4 of their early amazing tracks that are a must listen. Robin is one of the GOATS in my humble opinion.

James Dewar was on vocals and bass. I don't know if he played with anyone after the Robin Trower band. He passed away in the early 80s. Dewar was in a band called Stone the Crowes prior to being with Robin. Before starting his own band Robin Trower was the band Procol Harum. Robin is still active today and his last album in 2022 was excellent. He also started doing some of his own singing in later years. He also put out three albums with bassist/singer Jack Bruce of Cream fame. Davey Pattison who was the voice of Ronnie Montrose's band Gamma also did some great vocals for Robin. I believe Robin is nearly 80 now but like I said, he is still active.

As others have stated, James Dewar was the bassist/vocalist and Bill Lordan was the drummer. James Dewar sounds quite similar to Paul Rodgers of Bad Company/ Free fame. That may be why you feel you've heard him before. Robert Fripp (of King Crimson) was a fan of Robin Trower's vibrato, and Robert asked Robin to show him how he did it.

James Dewar on Vocals, He was previously in the fantastic band "Stone the Crows", With Maggie Bell (aka the Scottish Janis Joplin) on lead vocals, Les Harvey (brother of Alex Harvey) on guitar. I highly recommend people to check them out, My favourite songs of theirs: "Raining in Your Heart", "The Touch of Your Loving Hand", "Freedom Road" and "Sad Mary".

Saw him in '76 in Toronto with Boston opening, then in '77 he opened for Jethro Tull in Pontiac. Big fan back then especially, terrific guitarist. Rest In Peace James Dewar, soulful af vocalist/bassist. Used to play this one with my first band with admittedly mixed results. I couldn't sustain that level of virtuosity, passion and creativity. Oh well. Glad he's still out there and garnering deserved and overdue attention and new listeners. 👏 👏👏🤟😎❤️🍁❤️🫶

Saw him around this time, maybe the year before, in London. Me and my flatmate Will loved him. Sadly Will died the year this video was filmed so hearing Robin always reminds me of a good friend. I have his first three albums and two of them were Wills so another treasured memory. He is a great guitarist who imo doesn't get the credit he deserves.

this was initially my suggestion and glad it got through. The version I wanted was from the album you actually show promoting this video. This is a decent version but the one from the album you show is much much better. Yes it's Robin on guitar. Love his facial expressions and he mouths every note. Seen him many times, the last 2019 and he still does all the expressions, lol. He started off in Procol Harum, joining just after their first single, Whiter shade of pale and did their first five albums before starting his power trio. James Dewar on bass and vocals, formerly with Stone the crows. A fantastic blues vocalist and bass player. Bill Lorden on drums

glad you enjoyed it Joe. Zappa is my fav artist but think the channel is a bit Zappa inbred. I.ve done well over 20 requests and not one Zappa. Zappa alone is depriving people of so much other music, types of music, some of it, much better than Frank could ever do.
