Wow it's crazy this is 41 years ago and he was 60. And as I type this I'm just seeing he passed at 101. I was hoping it was just a random video until I saw the news pop up on my phone as I was writing. RIP. Greatest sitcoms in history was from this man

I can't take much of Robin Williams the comedian. The actor is great. He never really says much that's actually funny, as Dave points out a few times. He is clearly irritated that Robin came out and has to tell him to wait to talk until spoken to.

I thought he had moments of brilliance, riffs that worked, but sometimes he was just spitting out non-sequiturs and doing funny voices without point or purpose. Don Rickles was like that, insults that were sharp and then stuff that was just word salad.
@Jim_L
@Jim_L 9 месяцев назад
Robin is not all that funny here, but I like this very, very early 1980s period of his on talk shows, because he's actually a bit nervous and shy still, so he doesn't do that hyper-active-manic shtick he adopted maybe a year or two later when he appeared in public. Oh, goodness -- that was sooooo grating. But here, he's more restrained.
