If Robin was still alive, I would pay good money for him to have a history show. Like really good money. And he would just improv history lessons. Imagine him doing the French Revolution or WWII.
Leave this great man alone. All I see here is people fighting over what they think the truth is. This man gave blood after the 9/11 attacks. This man made Christopher Reeve laugh for the first time after his paralyzing accident and paid his medical bills. He make so many people smile and laugh. He was a tortured man who took his own life because he couldn't deal with them. He was already in his own personal Hell; He fought Alcoholism, Depression, Drug use. Then near the end, he learned that he had Parkinson's, a horrible and crippling disease. He put other people's priorities before his. I don't care what religion, race, ethnicity, or orientation you are; Just let this great man who made the world laugh rest. He's been through enough in life to be insulted and condemned to Hell by people who took offense. Any one who tries to start a religious fight against me will just prove my point. He was one of my heroes and I miss him everyday. I always have to wake up to a world without a comedy genius like him. "Comedy is acting out optimism" R.I.P Robin Williams 1951-2014
+Movie Madness I am sure God knows even more about his charities, and I am sure Robin, overall wasn't a very evil man. But we are all descended from Adam and Eve who sinned first and we suffer and are held in the curse of God due to Genesis 3. Therefore, despite yours, Robin's or even my charity.. it is good to give. It is even more important to receive Jesus Christ's sacrifice as the answer to our problem with sin. Without Jesus' sacrifice we are all doomed. I hope Robin knew him, judging by his digging into the fundamentalist as he is doing above... I think not, but I don't condemn him, as it says in the Holy book, we condemn ourselves. Christ came not in to the world to condemn the world, but that through him many would be righteous through his blood which was shed. John 3:17 is the source for that perspective. Peace to you Movie Madness. I would be mad for Jesus and be enjoy the insanity of the joy of my Lord, but my flesh denies me the realization Glad I am washed by his blood and not soap and water.
Also he was diagnosed with dementia meaning his mind was also starting to go. The rest of his life would have been a living hell. And now hes gone to heaven
I'm a historian with a background in the history of Christianity. Colleagues of mine in history, religion, and even those who are ordained share a love for Williams and share skits like this. No matter your background, your faith, or no faith in a God of any sort....the man was wonderful ♡
Awannabe Diabetic When you realize that over 40% of Americans feel that Genesis is fact, you understand why jobs move out of the country. Looking for an intelligent workforce.
Ultimately it is one big mockery though: as funny as Mr Williams was, he includes blasphemy and makes the account seem fanciful. As a Christian, I don't think our culture needed this, nor do I think his strawman of 'fundamentalists' reasonable: perpetuates the lie and myth that those who interpret historically don't use their heads nor pay attention to the secular histories and the details of the narrative.
My first prof. In religious studies was pretty good but he was no Robin Williams. I studied American Christianities along with my major through to a masters. I love the humor
Absolutely brilliant piece!! Him, Pryor and Carlin are now chilling together. And to those condemning him to hell for this...... ...it doesn't matter how Robin Williams ended up. His work (including this Stand up) will forever live through us. And there's not a thing you can do about it
The Book of Exodus is metal as hell already; Guns and Moses would be right in the ballpark. "LET MY PEOPLE GO OR YOU'RE GETTING TWO IN THE HEAD" just works.
This is my first time watching Robin Williams do stand up comedy. And i'm like, holy fuck this guy is impressive. His voice acting and facial expression are unlike anything I've ever seen. I don't think he was just the voice actor of the Genie in Aladdin. I honestly think they modeled the genie's character after him.
Half right. The writers had an idea of how they wanted the character to go. And then Williams got cast, and he did what he's done in several of his TV shows and movies: he improvised a completely different direction of how he thought the character should go, and the writers took their cues from him after that. Ever since he guest starred on Happy Days, Williams always created his own path, and his enthusiasm made it impossible not to want to join him on it.
I love Robin Williams as if he was a family member, when he died it broke my heart. The sadness too much, I think this is the first time that I've seen some of his stand up for a while, his energy is off the radar what a joy.RIP Robin
When a true genius appears, you can know him by one distinct feature… that of a man who carries the imagination and enthusiasm of a child into old age. That's Robin Williams for you! A comic genius who was able to find inimitable humor in life's absurdities. Robin, YOU ROCK!
He called it catholic lite in his show ^_^ same religion, half the guilt. Lolz. He had such a way of explaining things that made sense and also made others laugh
I'm a Christian and I simply adore Robin WIlliams and his comedy routine, especially this. He took something that could get a ton of people riled up if it is made fun of and just ran with it like he had a M-16 up his ass that was about to fire. He just simply loved to make people smile and have a good time. I honestly don't care what he jokes he makes as long as they aren't straight up hateful. The jokes he made here were in line with what is in the Bible (regardless of if a person believes in it or not) and he would poke fun at various things that did seem weird both in the Bible and outside of the Bible. Does it mean he automatically goes to Hell cuz he took his own life? Both yes and no depending on your viewpoint. Personally, I like to believe he went to Heaven cuz I believe that if you are saved and truly believe you are saved, then you are allowed into Heaven, despite the way you died.
Carlin, Pryor, both incredible, two of the greatest comedians every. But, I have to put Robin on top, his energy, they way he rolled back and forth, no one can touch him. 3 comedic Gods, but Robin was from another world (actually, he kinda was :) )
+mugglesarecooltoo ....You show your lack of humor and lack of spiritual training. In the Bible God smote dead people who did far less than the greatly mislead Robin in his routine above. God takes joy in his creation, he takes no joy in his creation mocking him. Be careful, be very careful. Make fun of me if you wish, but the man above who mocked God openly for a few laughs hanged himself, despite his fame, fortune, lovely wife, and children. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap....Galatians 6:7. Now Robin is dead and no one saw it coming. I feel somewhat sorry for him, I bet you he wasn't pulling rabbits out of a hat, painted up like a mime at the great white throne of God. Not mocking God here, but by our very sin, which we commit daily we mock God... Repent while there is time... Robin's time ran out like a glass turned upside down.
Genius....hahaha🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣A chinese waiter credited for the set up of the famous Last Suffer. "I have one big table right by the window but you all have to face this way".
The day this wonderful man left us the world became a sadder place. Thank goodness we have all his work to watch over and over again. Will always miss you RW.
+Lotus Syndicate I don't need Robin to make the Bible bearable. He sent his Holy Spirit to guide us to all knowledge and revelation. Robin Williams, famous, rich, intelligent, with much comedy, fell far short of the High principles, glory, and hope of the Bible. Robin did nothing but glimmer like an ember on the world stage, but his heart was far from the things of God. Now God as taken him, we all have a time, to glimmer and burn and a time to be taken. We are cursed to die and only in Christ can find eternal life. Thank Robin not... get on your knees, with all due respect, and thank God and find Jesus while there is still time!
+johnny ray High principles? Like selling your daughter into slavery, killing people for wearing a mixed type of clothing, or forcing girls to marry their rapists in exchange for 50 shekels of silver. Yeah, that's "high principles".
+morelbel As Jesus said on the cross... Forgive them Lord... they know not what they do. We will give an account for every idle word... why comedy at the expense of Christ the King is not a good idea. Peace to you morelbel.
+johnny ray Do you know the difference between a picture of Jesus and the real Jesus? It only takes one nail to hang a picture of Jesus! Thank You! I'll be here all week!
Yep. In practice, it's kind of the opposite of _normal_ compassion. Normal compassion is like, "Oh, he mocked my religion, but he hanged himself because he had Parkinson's Disease and he was completely miserable. Poor guy. No one deserves to die like that." Christian compassion, on the other hand, is like, "Yes! _Yes!_ He offed himself! The blasphemer offed himself! _Burn in Hell,_ you damned heretic!" It's kind of funny how Christians claim to follow Jesus of Nazareth, yet Jesus practiced that _normal_ kind of compassion...you know, like how the Romans came to arrest him and Peter wigged out and hacked that one Roman guy's ear off, but Jesus chewed Peter out for being violent, then went on to fix that Roman's ear even though Jesus was well within his rights to leave it rotting on the ground. Or how Jesus asked God to forgive the Romans right before dying on the cross, because the Romans were ignorant and it wasn't really their fault. _That_ sort of compassion. Christians are _nothing_ like Jesus. Is that irony, or is it hypocrisy? I can't decide.
BloodyBay do you put every one who claims to be a Christian all in one boat? the fact is we are not all in one accord... that is why there is so many denominations.. heretic sounds like a catholic word... I think it is sad that someone offs themselves... especially if they have never been born again... No one is like Jesus.. He was sinless He was God in the flesh... he is also the One who will be seated at the great White Throne to cast unbelievers into the lake of fire... He is also the One who will send down plagues during the last half of the 7 year Tribulation... keep in mind that He hates sin.. and became flesh and took on a gruesome punishment for it.... none of us are perfect and all of us are sinners... some of us are just saved sinners...
I hope that wherever his soul is right now, he knows how much the world loves him. There will never ever EVER be another one like him again. People can/may try, but they will fail.
a real Christian would never wish hell on anyone. That attitude is so far from what we profess to believe. Robin Williams went through a struggle in his life, that we can never understand, because we weren't there. I honestly wish him eternal peace. What part of do not judge, do we not understand? If you believe In God, then leave it there, don't cast stones on someone else's struggle and pain.
Poor dear Robin's life was hell. His parents ignored him. He had to play by himself. His marriages failed. Then he got an incurable disease which gave him a hellacious future. That's why he committed suicide. He is finally at peace. He was a totally unique talent the likes of which we will never see again. I am sure that he is seated at The Right Hand of The Father. His life was Hell. He deserves to be in Heaven.
"What are we, gonna walk on the frag's books- the frog's bucks- *_frog's backs_* " "THANK YOU FOR WATCHING ME THIS FAR!" I'm fucking dead on the floor right now XD
“People say Jesus wasn’t Jewish, but come on… He’s 30 years old, single, living with his parents, come on!… Working in his fathers business, his mother thought he was God’s gift, give it up, he’s Jewish!“ 😂😂
0:07 "Let there be light, could that be a metaphor for the 'Big Bang'?", *"No, God just went 'Click'!!!!"* Epic, and a greta setup for the rest of the video. R.I.P. Robin, keep God and Jesus laughing.
I was raised a Jehovah's Witness, and even though I am not the most religious of people, I still have great respect for Christ. And I think he would have laughed his ass off at this bit! I don't understand when people think God/Jesus doesn't have a sense of humour!
Genius comes by but rarely...here was a rare example of such an event......WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE BEEN SHARING THE SAME UNIVERSE WITH HIS MAN......miss you dude...
I'm a Christian, and this I find hilarious. God has a sense of humor (seriously, the Platypus' creation is proof!), so just relax everyone and enjoy some silly and random stand up from one of the world's comedy legends. If you don't believe in God, that's totally fine, and if you do, that's fine too! Let's just all be grateful for the laughs this magnificent man left for us, and know that he is, finally, at peace... and probably kicking back and laughing with George Carlin and other comedians!
I'm a Christian, also and I found this too be blasphemy and disgusting.George Carlin was Also one of the most filthiest vulgar comics ever, also disgusting.Garbage in garbage out.pretty simple. You can't serve 2 masters.either love one and hate the other. And yeah God does have a since-of -humor,that's why Robin Williams hung himself just like Judas when he betrayed Jesus,That's a funny Parallel.God shall not be mocked.
donald Thigpen the way you're talking, you may as well give up everything, leave your family and live a life of solidarity and the bottom of the fucking ocean. Chill out man
donald Thigpen Because god forbid the sound of wholesome fun and laughter, cheer and joy. We must all be serious 100% of the time. (That's sarcasm if you can't figure it out.) I mean come on, some of my fellow Christians out there seem to have a problem where they can dish it out, but they can't take it.
RIP Robin, I am a christian too and anyone who talks garbage about a dead man should remember that Jesus told us not to judge others. His life with Christ was his life and if you are a christian then "Judge not lest ye be judged". I hope he is in heaven making Jesus and God laugh so hard they have milk coming out their noses!
+webballshk Ao has no problem with people hating anyone. Neither does Vishnu. Nor Ra. Nor Amaterasu. They are gods, what do they care of little mortals such as yourself.
+William Keeler I think further looking into Christ's point, was not to judge, but rather... beware.. whatsoever we judge, the same will be judged of us. Also, we cannot live without judgement, the fork in the road is always before us.... Christ's tone and wisdom was to apply careful judgement in that.. judgement is serious, very serious business. I can't wait to get to the other side to understand fully, yet, probably be disappointed in my interpretation. Clearly we cannot avoid judgement, but still... Christ does warn us. Talk about a rock and a hard place... ha ha!!! Peace Brother William!
Why are all these people telling Robin to go to hell? I'm Christian too, but this is fucking ridiculous. First they're like "God loves all!", and now they're like "God hates Robin Williams!" or "Robin Williams should burn in hell!". Honestly, it's obvious that God has a sense of humor. If he didn't, we wouldn't have Robin Williams. Also, you shouldn't just tell everyone to die or go to hell just because they said something you don't agree with. That's just fucking childish.
keke spinxs If your opinions didn't show you to be an idiot, your horrid spelling would. If it is so true that he is in hell with "deamons", prove it. If you can't, then it is true only in your narrow little mind.
And this is the beauty of Western civilization. Robin Williams, a genuis comedian is able to make fun of a religion and nothing happens (except applause and cheering of course). If he had done this act in Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Pakistan, or Somalia he would have been brutally killed.
Saddam Hussein ACTUALLY. He did just that in Saudi Arabia. His first joke was something about how the men and women were split in the audience. They all laughed their ass's off. The guy was loved all OVER the world.
+Saddam Hussein Peace Saddam... but under our constitution by being a comedian Robin gets to express his 1st Amendment rights. As a human he can fling his fists in the face of God. We have a thing in Christ called forgiveness. God will forgive man... as it says in scriptures ..come let us reason together... though your sins be as scarlet I shall make them white as wool. God loves the Robins of the world, and the sinners of all types, he only wishes to clean us up, heal us, and allow us to dine at his feet. No murder... only love and forgiveness. I have been to the middle east and tried to respect the Muslims. Their draconian laws are unique, but i prefer the long suffering of the man we call Jesus. Peace to you anyway... who has descended from Abraham.
They come from the Germanic Pagan Goddess Ēostre (goddess of spring, and the origin of the name Easter), basic summary: at one point she arrived late for spring, to her horror she found a little bird lying in the snow, it's wings frozen. Feeling compassion, she took the bird as her pet, but felt sorry that the bird could no longer fly, she ended up turning him into a snow hare. Honoring his earlier life as a bird, she also gave him the ability to lay eggs in all the colors of the rainbow.
BradyFenrirTheDefiled Ah. Demanding that your opponent prove a negative = automatic VICTORY, huh? How about this: Buddhism espouses the idea of a Heaven without a Hell. If you succeed in shedding all of your earthly desires, you're admitted into Nirvana (unless you choose the path of the boddhisattva, of course, but that's neither here nor there) and NIrvana is Heaven by any other name. And if you _fail_ to cleanse yourself of selfishness? You simply get sent back to Earth to try again. And you _keep_ getting sent back to Earth until you finally get it right. Buddhism has been around for as long as Christianity has: Approximately 2,000 years. There are over _535 million_ Buddhists in the world today. And remember: Buddhism has scriptures too. So why should all the people of the world believe that Christianity is right and Buddhism is wrong?
Ok.....and what about the possibility that earth will be destroyed by a meteorite and mankind does not exist anymore? ? In that case we can not be sent back.
peetjemuilwijk What about the counterpossibility that Earth isn't the only world of sentients in the entire cosmos? Or the counterpossibility that a Divinity who created the world before can always -- and just as easily -- do so again? The Great Wheel could very well be as endless as the Buddhists describe. Think about it. Just because the Abrahamic/ JudeoChristianIslamic religions like to paint the Creator as a monstrous and manipulative God of Death who created this world for no other purpose than to destroy it -- and who will not hesitate to do so should we fail to placate said Creator -- _is no indication that that's how the Creator actually is._
God invented it but Satan use it as well.... Humor could be one of the best ways to deceive people if you use it the wrong way. I love Robin Williams but I never got that urgency he had to mock Jesus and jews all the time.
