Robin Williams way more than a comedian his heart was huge and hurt but no matter the situation or how bad he felt he would make others happy even if he wasn't.

I miss Robin. A huge loss to humanity the early departure of such a wonderful human being.

I was homeless and that's when we found that slot of the homeless are more giving than any other people that we have ever met. On the 2nd of June at my grandsons birthday party in the park a very nice man came up and ask for some food we gave him everything we were having including a piece of birthday cake. my grandson said thank you to the gentleman for coming to his party and made sure he had enough to eat. I just wish everybody was like that.I just wanted to let people know that homelessness is out there if my grandson's can help so can we all. thank you

Robin Williams will always be known for his body of work,his talent,and his ability to make everyone laugh. But I hope this video will remind people of his compassion for his fellow man! That compassion is definitely shown here in this video as he speaks to members of congress about the personal stories of the homeless, and those helping them, he has seen and heard! R.I.P. Its a lovely thought , KNOWING a man like him lived among us , lived on this planet the same time as us ........There will come a time when we are no longer here,and someone will say,"What a great human being" ! I love his movies ...and have enjoyed watching all my life :) And is a good inspration for people ..x

Unfortunately, the committee’s decision fell far short, as words falling on deaf ears. Homelessness is worse and increasing daily.

Robin Williams will always live in our hearts forever.

What is sad when this was filmed this fell on deaf ears of Congress. We still see this today. And Robin (R.I.P.) tried his best along with many others to pass this bill over 5 times. Never happened.

I watched all his movies, discover his various hilarious interviews, his shows, and for the first time, I heard him speaking (almost) without cracking a joke. He was an incredible human being, as well as a genius actor and comedian. He is missed worldwide.

Comic relief, made the troops laugh, homelessness, visited sick kids, comedy squared, funniest man on earth, thanks Robin.

When I started serving mission to the homeless in downtown Phoenix in 2012, I was told never to take pictures or videos and, that recently Robyn Williams had been seen on the street, camped under a blanket all night on the streets, he was a regular supporter and ocaisionally would be seen at meals.

I commend him as a proud American. He stood up for those without a voice. May God Bless him.💔

people like robin Williams cannot be praised enough. but life really is too short. and as i gather the truth is that a lot of us LOVE to talk the talk but are scarcely willing to walk the walk. we were born human but weather we want to remain as one is a choice we have to make ! it's people like robin that angels bow down to. do and will miss you robin.

Today is May 1st 2019, in 9days it will be 29 years since this aired. OH Mr. Williams when we lost you heaven definitely gained a 👼. We need to share this video and get our government to listen. Doesn't anyone care? We are blessed to have jobs again and better wages but housing prices are not attainable. The state where I live landlords have almost doubled the price of apartment rentals. Where I live is not a healthy environment,we have black mold on our windows but we can't afford anywhere else right now. Our apartment manager only tells us to clean it and they will paint over it, but then it comes back. It doesn't take care of the problem, but they know we can't move along with many other tenants. I experienced being homeless when I was younger and don't want to experience that again. So we just feel blessed to have a place to live...

This should be required viewing for all Americans.

Homelessness is at least 10 times as bad nowadays, and those who are employed and and living one emergency from homelessness is immese. It is at unprecedented levels that we could not even imagine back then.

I agree, Robin could even make reading a grocery list entertaining. Having said that, he was passionate and eloquent when speaking about this issue dear to his heart. I'd heard he testified in front of a Senate panel but hadn't heard it till today. I admire him even more now. xo Robin

He was a smiling face, an intelligent quip, a fiery soul at times who cared deeply about people and called out what he considered bs and in times when my family were at odds with one another or I didn't think much of myself...his work got me through a lot of that. Kick one back with Chris Reeve, another of my heroes and your bud. You earned it and are missed good sir.

The society, by and large, prefers the 'out of sight out of mind' situation. So if and when things get out in the open, every politician jumps up and 'supports' the effort. In truth, is just lip service.

This was an excellent video and it makes me miss Robin even more. You could tell how passionate he was about the subject of homelessness. By his hair and beard I think it would be safe to say that he was definitely either in the process of filming "The Fisher King" or he'd just finished it. This is important though because Robin met with real life homeless people to research for his part of the homeless and mentally ill character Parry. The fact that he and Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal had been doing Comic Relief was just downright amazing, even with Robin gone I still hope that Whoopi and Billy could meet for Comic Relief at least one more time in their future. Robin had joked about being dyslexic in his standup but I wonder if he really was. I'm badly dyslexic and the way that he read out loud but sometimes read certain words wrong (usually with a repeating sound) mirrors how I read. If he was dyslexic, that makes him 100 percent more awesome. Leave it to Robin to make Congress interesting, even if he was on his best behavior.

Older video I know, but I had to comment. I am one of those statistics that are homeless. I work 2 jobs, 7 days a week, yet rent is so far out of reach there is no way possible even with a third job that I am able to afford a roof over my head. Don't get me wing, I'm in no way blaming anyone for my current situation, as I have a van, but when I look at rent, and see me with 2 jobs at 7 days a week and still can't afford rent, I feel something is drastically unbalanced and wrong with this. I am not the only one. People need to do now research, dig around and read and look around you, you will be amazed at what you finally see when you truly look at your surroundings and truly see what is going on around you. The biggest and saddest thing about this whole ordeal is people don't genuinely care. I hear all the time I'll pray for you, I'm sorry I wish I could help, etc... Yet really don't do a thing. How many of us has offered a garage, a shed, or anything else to a person in need. Those alone are a HUGE thing to a homeless person. More times than not if you actually sit and talk with a person regardless of being homeless or not, you find out that societies judgement and lable they have put on people are not that it actually is, ie: you can't judge a book by its cover. I have helped lots of people even being homeless, because I see what goes on around me. We can build huge big churches, fund a new airport, give trillions if not more money to other countries but we can't help our own state of affairs simply because someone thinks it doesn't exist, or wants to pretend it doesn't exist. I'm so for helping people, but if we can't fix our own situation, who are we to try and fix anyone else. Like a person without a child, telling a person with a child how to raise that child.
