“I’m really not sure what I do.” Exactly. People will always say to me, “You should teach writing,” and my response is exactly that. I mean, I’ve been a writer most of my life, and I’ve never even written an outline. I’m basically the equivalent of an improv comic. I actually used to be in an improv group in LA and I NEVER wanted to be stand-up comedian because I knew it would bore me to tears to have to repeat the same set every night. Because for me, humor is always in the moment- never rehearsed. If I had to repeat anything, it would no longer be funny. In fact, you could say stand-up comedy would be the equivalent of having to do an outline for a writer like me.

I got into improv and voice acting as an adult because I was enamored with Ryan, Colin, Wayne, Drew, Greg, Brad, Chip, and everyone else on that show. And not a single other show has EVER made me laugh harder than Whose Line, every episode, every night. I know it's time is done, but I will never forget these folks and the joy they've imbued on my life through this show. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so very much! When i first saw the clip from the irish drinking song (really hope it wasnt a hoedown lol), i laughed so damn hard cuz it just seemed so random. Then at some point i seem to remember seeing a clip where the "meow" thing happened earlier in the show/before the song and thought to myself "oh wow, that a smart callback". Come on, let's be fair to everybody. Williams didn't steal the show, but his specific energy and talent brought something special to it. Remember during the director skit: Williams: I am having trouble staying in character! Mochrie: No kidding! (Paraphrasing) Williams was often going a beat to five beats too long in his bits and you could feel how it was going against the rhythm of the comedy that we were used to. the Robin Williams taping was truly a tier above most other WhoseLine sessions...like, Robin of course would be at the top of His game, but it was like his presence made the Others step up and bring THEIR heavy-hitters...it was like a healthy Competition, of seeing if anyone could "out-funny" the Legend...and the best part is, the 'competition' didnt have any Losers lol

I LOVE Whose Line!! The Drew years were the best, and I hope I can go see a live tour show someday. Everytime I watch an old episode, I try to out-improv them, but I know it will never happen. ;-) The episodes with Robin Williams and Richard Simmons were absolutely the best. Watching Drew lose his composure was always equivalent to seeing an SNL member break. Thanks for all the laughs, guys. You've gotten me through some rough times.

While this was all about his professional life and shows what a consummate professional he is, it doesn't touch on what a stellar person he is in his personal life. His advocacy and support for the LGBTQ community, particularly trans folks, since he has a trans daughter, has been amazing to see. Just an all around great person. We've been lucky to have him and that he shared his many talents with us for all these years.

I definitely got into improv theatre because of watching Who's Line and seeing Robin Williams outtakes. The Genie, Good morning Vietnam etc

This was wonderful! I've been a huge fan since Clive Anderson was the moderator! Mr. Mochrie you are awesome to watch on the show and I've since gotten my family into the show as well. We all love you & Ryan Stiles! You play so well off of each other! My youngest brother & his friends used to play around with improv ....if nothing else it was always entertaining! Lol. My brother is a producer & director now for two shows...among some other projects he works on. 😁❤. May God Bless you & yours!

I was brought up on stage, hypnotized and performed hypnotized improv with Colin. It was among the safest and most comfortable times I've felt being on a stage!

My mother took me once to what I thought was a live taping of a comedy show when I was a kid. Turned out... it was a test screening of Whose Line Is it Anyway. I think it was a test screening for Comedy Central to decide if they should pick up the show and screen it in the US. I enjoyed the show, but I was very disappointed it wasn't live. When I saw the show a year or so later on TV I thought... this looks familiar. I'm glad I liked it. If I didn't, maybe it wouldn't have come here. My mother is also an actor and had some experience doing improv. About 10 years later she joined an improv group with the guy from the New York Lotto commercials.

Even when the CW version concludes, I'm still a fan who hasn't watched more than a handful of the UK episodes and some of them had me in stitches just from clips of games, like Hey You Down There with Stephen Frost doing a fantastic job as Colin and Ryan play along perfectly with the weed jokes.
