You know what's so great. When Aaron went to visit Liv at Juvenile Hall, Robert was recognized. On Queer As Folk (US Version) Melanie wasn't recognized as Gus's "Other Mother" even though she did just as much to take care of The Boy. She worked extra hours as a Lawyer, she fought with Brian in terms of her rights and she had to deal with Brian deciding over and over again he wouldn't give up his rights as his Father.
