PLAY www.roblox.com/games/10567134... Today I play a Roblox game called Jim's Computer! A Roblox story type game where you order stuff off your computer and allow fate to take its course
The most terrifying part about the game is that we don't even know if there was anything outside. But Jim didn't wanna risk finding out. I hope the developer keeps making more games like this, Roblox needs more existential horror games.
There’s gonna be something dark like a game with Jim’s grave and people around it with sad faces for a game that dark there’s probably gonna be another dark game abt it!
this game is actually a great adaptation of paranoia that leads to anxiety and stress 24/7. the littlest things that happen make you terrified. the news and other things increase this anxiety, and my theory is that it's all in his head (maybe having schizophrenia or something similar to it). another thing that helps support my theory is when jim says "there is someone inside my house" when it turns out there isn't, it's all about anxiety. at the end, the black square turns into a gun which jim uses to kill himself. i think the black square symbolizes something like mental health going down the drain and anxiety, so you're blind to what's really happening around you (hence why you don't know it's a gun at first). tl;dr the game is about paranoia and anxiety and stress, which eventually leads to suicide from fear and how you are paranoid about every little thing
They made a horror game so well, with no jumpscares, no flashing lights, no loud sounds but instead they forced paranoia and anxiety upon the player anticipating a jumpscare from one of the closets but nothing ever happens. We never see ANY threat whatsoever, and the slow reveal of the gun is a major turning point that we don't get to know what we bought until the very end where we shoot ourselves due to the overwhelming emotions. Probably my favorite horror game on roblox right now, i've never seen anything like it.
Theory: The geolocator was pointing the direction of the cliff because Jim was already suicidal at that point. At the end he felt even more pushed to actually committing the deed.
I love how magically the game goes from “get prepared this game is a horror game so get prepared to do something random” to straight up “there is someone inside my house” just out of nowhere I don’t know why but just seeing text that says “there is someone inside my house” would be scarier then actually looking in closets at a slow speed
My theory is that Jim has some sort of medical/anxiety disorder that makes him think that someone is always trying to break into his house / kill him. And at the end you can see his hands shaking, meaning he probably got so freaked out or overwhelmed that someone was in his house that he just shot himself. This game has some dark lore and I really hope they make more endings or a second game for this. Edit: For everyone sayings its schizophrenia, I knew that. I didn't really think I'd have to specify but half of the replies here are telling me that, so I thought I'd go ahead and say this. (No hate to anyone who said this btw, I just wanted to let everyone know)
Absolutely love this game. I am kinda surprised this game is still up considering Roblox claims suicide-related content violates TOS. But I'm really happy it's still up. Showing raw, real-life, and devastating incidents, even through such simple animation, can be extremely impactful. Cry of Fear, easily one of the most disturbing games I've played, really left an enormous impact on many players of it through its raw but simple depiction of tragic events. Jim's Computer really hit hard at the end with it's intense but minimalistic representation of paranoia and suicide. It may look like like the average 2008 Roblox simulator, but this really is one of the few Roblox games I just love so much. Grugchamp did well :0
@Генри it may not show blood or anything, but you can see that he starts to point the gun towards himself. and followed soon after with the gun shot. either way, it’s pretty clear that he kills himself. so it doesn’t necessarily need to show anything to get taken down. as long as it’s implied, there’s always a chance it will be.
Though it's short it's really interesting and unique. I like the little details like the arms shaking, the locators arrows pointing off the cliff, and all the news articles. The simplicity is also nice. There's no real jump scares, just anticipation that there will be something. Simple sounds. None of that really big build up stuff. As someone who can get pretty paranoid at night especially, I found this surprisingly relatable. Having to check places people can hide to feel safe, shaking and being terrified, being absolutely convinced that something bad is going to happen and there's nothing you can do to stop it or get away. The creator(s) is/are super talented and creative, and I hope they make more games like this
While the locator arrow thing is an interesting theory... ANY direction is off a cliff, it's a game disguised as an old Roblox simulator. The baseplate ends EVENTUALLY.
“Being absolutely convinced that something bad is going to happen and there is nothing you can do to stop it or get away” as a person who can get extremely paranoid and stressed this SLAPPED me so hard
Something about that message "There is someone is in my house" Good lord, it stood out so much, there wasn't any cover up for it like; "You hear footsteps...", It's so blunt & direct that it makes the situation so much more terrifying & tense...
I love that the game is just true psychological horror (the best kind of horror imo). There aren't any jumpscares, no annoying bits where all buildup is eradicated by an impossible section where you die over and over, and is honestly something that a bunch of people could relate to (but maybe not on this extremity). I played this game before I saw the video, and I honestly had the same reactions as Flamingo. literally 10/10 great game go support the creator
Really short, but honestly pretty good horror game. The nighttime parts are so unnerving and the ending hits really hard after everything building up to it. Good psychological horror.
As someone living in an almost constant state of crippling anxiety I can happily say that one of my escapes is this channel. I get so immersed that I forget all the awful things for a while and it's so nice. Thank you.
its weird how everyone continues to talk about how funny you are, how they love you, or something similar but they never talk about the game you play. the game has some pretty dark themes, and the psychological horror aspect of it brings on an interesting premise. im gonna have to check this game out at 2am in the morning with my lights off.
It would seem obvious that Jim would have a large amount of paranoia in his being, but I have a strong feeling he might have schizophrenia, anxiety, paralysis, and borderline hallucinations. He constantly has reoccurring ‘dreams’ and feels constantly unsafe in his own comfort even when he knows her ‘alone’. Even if you don’t necessarily have visions, he had the symptoms of what this could have been for Jim. Coming up with possible lore for this game is fun.
i also have paranoia , schizophrenia , anxiety , paralys , borderline hallucinations and i would probaly do the same with a gun when i was also 5 i tought i just saw a shadow guy at the corner of my eye but it was nothing
this game was really nice, especially the fact that its so simple yet intense at the same time. Roblox needs less horror games about monster and murderers, but more phycological horror games.
I presume Jim is the true culprit; instead of being paranoid about someone breaking into his house, perhaps he is the one the authorities are looking for, trying to lock himself up and kill himself to avoid being caught. Perhaps the person he's chatting with isn't who we think he is, but rather an accomplice who informed him about the authorities. But the story will be interesting as well as dark and twisted if Jim has a psychological issue in which he believes he is innocent and ends up killing himself, but this is not the case because he is the true progenitor of this incident (don't mind the last part; I'm just a writer who enjoys dark and twisted stuff, lol).
The news section debunks this, we see Jim at his house all day and people are still dissapearing, the helicopter that flew by didn't bother to start circling him, if they needed him arrested they already have his location because of all the purchases delivered to his house.
a month late but honestly jim is extremely relatable, this game resembles schizophrenia and anxiety really really well, i love the fact it also resembles the old roblox as the game progresses jim gets more twisted and ends up committing suicide and i think the nuclear thingy has something to do with the people suddenly dissapearing but idk its just a theory
Even flamingos normally excitable attitude dropped to shock after he saw that ending. Like jeez, this game is amazing, and I look forward to more from the dev.
This game is exceptional. The buildup is fantastic, the pacing is consistent, the story is impressive, and it's terrifying. It's so blunt with you. There are only small things that justify your anxiety, like the scratching on the door and what happens right before day 5. The story is familiar but so distant at the same time. The implications that our protagonist doesn't feel safe in their own house, which is why they wake up to check their home every night, is so realistic. Oh my God I love this game. It's so menacing.
ah yes, the true horror is the amount of fear and paranoia the brain makes up, not being able to get rid of it, having no other option but to end it all to fully escape.
A psychological horror game, the genre that tops most horror games. It tests your brain with the surrounding that tricks the brain thinking there is a danger or someone there.
I personally think that the black thing is actually a metaphor for jims paranoia/anxiety, it tells him to prepare for something that is never actually seen, that would explain why everytime you open the closets, you would expect something, but it would never be there.
alberts gotten a bit more calm in these videos and i really like it also, i played this game myself and i loved it. so much anticipation; you think someone’s gonna break in, jumpscare you and kill you only for the real murder to be yourself. nice, short game. more content like this would be cool!
It's cool how in his 2nd last purchase, he buys a pack of beans, water and a medkit which implies that he was already preparing for a lockdown, it's a pretty small detail but cool none the less.
I have a theory, and it is that Jim is schizophrenic and he imagines that someone is constantly trying to kill him and he is aware that not all he sees or hears is real and he’s tired of his suffering constantly being alert on what’s not there to where he eventually ends his own life. This may also mean that he was struggling with paying for his medications that lead to this moment.
When it said there was someone inside his house, that genuinely sent shivers up my spine. The prospect of something inhuman being in your only safe place is uncanny to me.
Now imagine that in your own house. In the middle of the night you hear something break, you get up to investigate to no avail. Whatever that was in your house is still there.
loved this game actually. it put stuff I experience all the time into a game, and I appreciate that because I can't find a lot of games like that which don't cost money.
Jim’s computer has an appearance of a meme game type, but in reality it’s actually a horror masterpiece with no jumpscares at all. The only people who actually get scared from playing it, are people who haven’t watched watched full play through vids (watching huge spoilers without even trying the game). Edit: Thanks for the attention
The game is great, telling a horror story where the main character's fear gets so bad they off themselves, without ever actually showing the danger and what the player is trying to fight against
I think Jim's computer was based out of The Mandela Catalogue when the guy was stalked by his doppelganger and decided to shoot himself since he couldn't take it anymore.
This is such an interesting psychological horror experience. It's very interesting to watch, and as a Roblox player, I might consider trying this one out.
most likely, Jim has schizophrenia, paranoia or anxiety. the person chatting Jim is probably the military or the an old acquaintance making him freak out. if not, its most likely the kidnapper. There is someone in your house.
if there’s anyone that really likes the game, i’m pretty sure the game is heavily inspired by Mandela Catalogue! it’s a very nice series and it sort of follows the same premise as the game, expect it’s not just paranoia that haunts the player :)) i’ve seen a few people comment they like the game and nobodies mentioned Mandela Catalogue; if you like the game, i’m sure you’ll like the series it’s based off of. i do really like the game and how well they execute Mark/Jim’s paranoia, and i also like how they both meet the same fate :) albert commenting on the helicopter makes me smile since i’m pretty sure it’s a reference to nobody coming to help Mark/Jim. a small touch i like is that the announcement on the TV used the same font as the one used in Mandela Catalogue.
Honestly, I enjoy Mandela Catalogue but this game did not remind me of it at all. Apart from the TV announcement, which is more of an ARG thing in general than the MC.l
The su!c!de themes definitely fit MC and the paranoia. but other than that there is no references to alternates or otherworldly beings. i see how it's similar though.
Idk much about any potential lOrE this game may have. But as someone on the Schizophrenic Spectrum (Schizo-Affective Disorder) I can kinda relate to Jim. Waking up at night Paranoid that something is wrong. Despite nothing being there physically you can't help but feel scared nonetheless. And the slightest bit of proof you were right can cause you to take Drastic Measures. Sorry if that was rambley. This video hit a bit too close to home and I needed to get my thoughts out before I overthink it lol.
@@Rice871 media can often increase this paranoia. "There's a serial killer on the loose" "there's an Amber alert nearby." Etc. Jim enters and exits his house often. It is possible he didn't close it all the way and it opened. But it's when coincidences become something more than Just that to the one having an episode that causes them to take it to the extreme. Think about it. Jim wakes up at night scared after seeing stuff on the news. He begins to hear noises and sees a helicopter fly over his house. He boards up the windows despite being in an isolated place with a single tree. He's so paranoid no common sense could make him feel safe. A door opening despite nobody being there could be the final string to snap. He points the gun at the door. No response but he's in such a state that he turns it to himself. The story could be about a monster. Sure, but even then it hits close to me. I've almost done similar in a way of saying "I am not going to let you get the satisfaction." I've slept with knives, metal poles and wooden slabs "Just in case."
@@Rice871 Jim lives in an isolated place. Simple coincidences exist Paranoia and schizophrenia exist Seriously, maybe those people missing were just paranoid too but decided to jump off a bridge in an isolated place instead?
I feel like this game is about like a paranoid/anxiety disorder. however, Jim fairly reminds me of Mark from The Mandela Catalogue, considering the reports and him trying to keep whatever out there out away from him, resulting in him taking his own life, similar to Mark.
I played this expected it to be a Floppa type game, to my pleasant surprise it was a psychological horror, very neat, I hope they add more in the future!
5:05 gave me flashbacks to mandela county bro also, the theories in the comments are really damn cool jim suffering from paranoia or jim being the culprit himself are both super good observations, and i wouldn't be surprised if both or one of them are true. to me, it definitely does seem that jim is suffering from serious mental distress and was probably experiencing a panic attack during the last moments of the game, and ended up offing himself as an impulsive decision. possibly PTSD mixed with severe anxiety of some sorts could have led to this-a kidnapping victim, a victim of attempted robbery or murder, or someone who had to deal with the terrifying fact that there's a serial killer around. maybe jim was nearly a victim of the serial killer, or he was the killer himself.
i might be a little late, but my theory is that Jim doesn't have schizophrenia, but is rather a regular normal person. my thought was that the reason he was checking the closets was that he was paranoid, this is further supported when you search all the closets and then it says that you feel safe again. the thing is, there was never a monster or sort of demon, it was Jim's head. schizophrenia can do this, but Jim hadn't always been seeing things. as the days went on, and he got more news about the chemical plant, and also with the person messaging him, anxiety and stress were probably building up at an alarming rate. there was nothing outside his door. it was his brain tricking himself that there was, just like how paranoia does it. this ended up in him being terrified, especially because the person messaging him told him to "Be quiet". The reason he shot himself is because the broadcast was making sound, and in his head, the sound was making the 'monsters' come for him. He couldn't turn the broadcast off, so he did what I think most people would.
What a cool game. The way it builds up, and the way it disguises itself is perfect. I also love how they have the news articles slowly get worse and you eventually get a tv alert while it’s at your door. The ending is also something that was unexpected, because its roblox
I relate to Jim. I always think people are going to harm me, or do things to me. When my teacher was holding me for detention, I was so anxious, I skipped it. I always think that I’m gonna be a victim, and I’m always depressed of boredom, and anxiety. I always think that there’s gonna be a criminal at my house one day. I can’t sleep at the thought of that, and my fear of death. News just makes it worse. Flamingos fun content makes my life better. Monsters shouldn’t be something to be scared of, it’s humans. There is no monsters, it’s all the evil of humanity.
My theory is that Jim may have paranoia it's a mental disorder that Is like you feel someone is in your house stalking you or trying to kill you Because he was shaking and panicking about someone in his house He may have hallucinations that trigger him to think that someone is in his house I think he was too stressed that's why he had hallucinations and he believed that someone/something is with him This game has some dark lore I love it Roblox players needs to make games with a great lore.
I’m pretty sure that the creator made this game with some similarities to the Mandela catalogue series on RU-vid. A character basically had the same thing happen to him, without the computer. If you haven’t watched it its a very good analogue horror series
not only that but the premise of the game is similar to the series. (the way this game easily builds up so much anxiety with little to no jumpscares/significant "spooky" differences, very similar to the Mandela Catalogue)
Theory: The chemical spill turned some creatures radioactive. It. Makes them deadly. As Jim got the information, it made him more anxious. The first few times he got up in the night were just his illusions. The last time, though, were those creatures. He would have been able to shoot the creatures, but instead shoots himself being too anxious about what's coming to him. Jim also got so stuck to his computer that he didn't board up the door. The computer just made him feel more tired and eventually led to him making worse decisions. He might have also been more brave if he could think better of the situation. He would have been able to control the gun.
I love these types of horror games! No jumpscares, no scary twists. Just the anxiety and stress that someone's in your house. I love the fact that you don't know if someone was actually in your house! Tbh it took me a minute to realize that Jim committed suicide :D
this has a pretty dark message about the media shaping your perspective, like how in Hawaii there was a fake emergency alert. so, jim ended up killing himself due to anxiety and being paranoid over what he saw on the news. kinda sad really.
@@CC-ro5cx also the best ending where you stay for 40 minutes and pick up the super all and do 482 laps around the house Jim's brother Tim comes over to his house and they play Mario on the computer
The fact that if he never got his computer none of this would of happened because he would of not recieved any of the news to drive him crazy is deep and the ''there is someone inside my house'' confirming that you are fully aware that you've heard something in your house and that you are going to encounter it any second. It really creates an unnerving vibe and makes this whole experience a lot scarier. I also like how they censored the gun until the ending so it makes an unexpected ending.
This has got to be one of the darkest roblox games I've ever seen due to them presenting suicide, yet it's a true thing and I appreciate these types of game creators that represent really devastating and tragic stuff in their creations showing a message that its not a joke.
@@weirdsweapons it's paranoia. Expecting something that doesn't exist but your mind makes it up to think it as such. It's a terrifying thing to experience. Going paranoid for so long, alone, would make any man go mad
I have a theroy that Jim was Just having a terrible Nightmare Because When You Shoot Yourself You Get A badge Called “You Escaped” Possibly Saying That You Escaped The Nightmare.
One thing i love about this is you have no idea how much is all in his head. Is Jim the culprit of the dissapearances, or is it just something someone else did that made him paranoid? Were the army/police trying to break into his house, or was it a monster, or was it just a paranoid illusion? It's all up to the player
games like this give me so much stress, its like it has the aura of a horror game and it feeks like its gonna jumpscare us but never does, games like those play with our minds
i absolutely adore this game because i love psychological horror games. but what i love about albert playing this is out of all the youtubers i've watched play this he's the only one who understood that in the end jim shøøts himself. everyone else's reaction was along the lines of "that's the ending?"//"that's it?"
(tw) back when i was unmedicated i went through a similar experience. i thought there were people always watching me and they could come kill me at any second. at first there were just small hallucinations like hearing things against my window or doorknob twisting, then it slowly got worse and i would be hearing "radios" saying stuff like "look at me" it was super scary at the time. i feel like this was what they were going for, because if i didn't get the help i needed in time i couldve very well done the same
@@Rice871 Maybe they were unrelated incidents in OTHER AREAS? There isn't much context to go off of, but still. While the news are real, the noises aren't, and jim shouldn't have went that far.
@@Rice871 First of all, learn to spell, second of all, one of the symptoms of schizophrenia is hearing things that aren't there, it's very likely that jim has schizophrenia. Also Jim is in an isolated forest in his own house, the only noises that make sense are owls, maybe wind, but not that.
what's sad is i can somewhat relate to the character being played as. the fear just gets too much and sometimes you feel that the end part is the only answer. thankfully im still here and alive but it truly gets hard. - someone with panic disorders, anxiety, psychosis, and agoraphobia
The scary thing is that there really is nothing outside. The player looks through windows but nothing is there. It’s just to mess with your mind and make you THINK there is something in your house. I love it.
Yo..I was scared with you. The fact that this doesn't have jump scares, yet can make you feel scared is incredible. It's actually finely crafted for such a seemingly simple game. The ddlc of Roblox, if you will.
Heres my theory :). So basically jim buys a computer, he buys items and plays with them cause hes scared of the dangers that could happen on a computer, he has a medical condition that makes him think someones in his house, as the nights go on he starts to hallucinate that someone is there, a guy texts him saying prepare, of course this freaks out the guy and he buys more items to prepare, as he boards up the windows he gets tired, he goes to bed and wakes up as usual, the tv scares him even more, he grabs the censored thing that slowly reveals to be a gun, he becomes afraid that because of the missing children something *worse* than death might happen, and that night he moves his gun and points it to him, tired of everything going on, he shoots. Thats my theory :)
My thoughts abt it is paranioa and anxiety, it eats you up until your at your lowest and you cant take it no more and you get so scared you take your own life
I love Jim's computer so much when I played the game for the first time it disturbed me I love how it makes you feel uneasy throughout the entire game But in reality you won't being hunted down you were just going insane
Watched this at midnight, may not be able to sleep soundly tonight. Probably gonna employ 7 year old tactics in my apartment, hallway light on, white noise, and completely wrapped in a blanket to scare away the monsters.
This got me. Like damn this game really got me. Especially since I relate to Jim, in the aspects of being terrified by what might happen to the point of well… that.
The game's "lore" has missing key parts and give no context which is how this game scares you, The fear of the unknown if you will. There's a series out there called the "Mandela Catalogue" where one of the people there got locked in a room for months because there was a doppelganger of his friend trying to get him. He then killed himself in the fear of the doppelganger outside his room. I feel like the game's inspiration was that. Never would've known that Jim would commit suicide but it really just reminded me of that scene in the Mandela Catalogue. (If I get recommended of the Mandela Catalogue by RU-vid I am gonna cry)
5:04 this is just terrifying the small unemotional sentence paired with that little sound effect made me just jump it’s so amazingly terrifying just the white little text on the big black screen suddenly popping open saying “there is someone inside my house”
