Few tips for each ship to help you out: Light fighter: designed for dogfights and handling enemy fighters/bombers. Speedy and with missiles that lock on. Unable to damage larger spacecraft. Strike fighter: trades the missiles for rockets you can fire with f, go in a straight line and can damage enemy spacecraft. Otherwise identical to light fighters. Heavy fighter: Designed for direct combat with fighters. Has the highest damage and health of the fighters but is slower and therefore weaker to dogfighting. BOMBERS: Fighter bomber: An interesting combo indeed. Missiles with f and b for rockets, can fulfill both roles decently well. Torpedo bomber: Designed for unaware and/or slow targets, fires a slow moving torpedo that requires 100 range to detonate. Good against spacecraft. Light bomber: cheap, standard bomber with 3 rockets. Good against spacecraft. Dive bomber: Deals the most spacecraft damage in exchange for high risk. Requires close, on-top range (you will see a red circle over the enemy), pressing b will drop a powerful pipe bomb that decimates anything caught in its blast. Medium bomber: The classic heavy bomber. 6 rockets plus a spot for another player to go antiair (sadly you can't spawn on one of these so getting a gunner is rare.) Deals the most structural damage to the enemy base and buildings. SPACECRAFT Corvette: Antiair specialist with it's missiles and autocannon, has no anti spacecraft weapons besides said missiles. Frigate: Speedy and deadly craft with the ability to deploy powerful mines. If close enough, the mines will approach an enemy ship and blow up, dealing heavy damage. With a short cooldown and a small anti-spacecraft cannon to boot, this ship is incredible as a flanker and defensive minelayer. Highly recommend to teach movement and aiming for beginners. Cruiser: Mix between corvette and higher level ships, has anti-fighter missiles that can autolock on to pesky enemies. Comes with 2 small cannons despite lesser speed than a frigate, perfect for defending capital ships from any smaller threats. Destroyer: Replaces the anti fighter missiles with a torpedo, the same as the torpedo bomber with a longer cooldown. Has 2 small cannons. Achieves a similar role as the cruiser against larger, slower threats. Heavy crusier v1: Equipped with 2 small cannons and an anti-fighter missile system, a moderately armoured craft that is excellent against would-be flankers. Heavy cruiser v2: Same as the first with a slightly higher cost and one large cannon. Suitable for pounding larger ships alongside your capital ships. CAPITAL SHIPS: Spacecraft carrier: A incredibly powerful craft meant to provide the support backbone of any fleet. Has 3 antiair turrets and no anti spacecraft abilities, but it's power comes from it's status as a fleet carrier. Any fighter or bomber can be spawned from there, wherever the carrier is on the map. This allows for relentless offensives as the carrier stays behind allied spacecraft while its fighters and bombers both reach the front lines and resupply armaments faster. Each craft bought on the carrier gives the carrier exp and money, letting the pilot continuously bring larger and larger ships to bear later on. It also has a small, $100 drone it can send every minute, which has no shields and will die if hit by anything. The trade off is it able to deal heavy damage to an enemy spacecraft without the carrier exposing themselves, by getting close and charging as it flies into the enemy. The carrier is almost a necessity when pushing dug-in points, as otherwise the enemy has the defensive advantage in spawning. Battlecrusier: the second strongest warship in the game for direct engagments, with three powerful main turrets and high health. Primarily designed to destroy large enemy spacecraft, it often struggles against small, fast moving opponents such as fighters, bombers, and frigates especially due to their mines. While deadly beasts against any direct engagment, they require support to truly shine against crafty opponents. Battleships: The cream of the crop, pretty much just stronger battlecruisers. An extra gun, more health, and a far larger target painted on their back by everyone who sees it. The battleship, although the apex of power, is even more vulnerable to bombers, mines, and crafty opponents who can avoid their quad cannon barrages. These serve as the frontline assaulters against outposts and bases, able to decimate guardian cannons in a few volleys and destroy everything else that's grounded in a matter of seconds. SCOUTCRAFT: The most underrated craft but perhaps the most disruptive of them all. As the smallest and fastest ship in the game, their primary objective (despite the name) is to slip past enemy blockades and cap points. Whoever has more of these at the start will often take point B, leaving the other team with a major disadvantage in territory, ships, and defensive capabilities. If, on the other hand, the enemy is pushing into your lines and has taken b and their side's point, your mission is to try to take their side's point. Even if you fail, which is likely, the distraction you provided, (Especially if you can kill a few enemy infantry before being killed yourself) could be the difference between victory or defeat. If you do somehow manage to cap the point, your enemy now has both their home base and their back to worry about, as spacecraft can now spawn behind them. Such a disruption would easily cause any offensive to falter and force a retreat to stop the new backline that opened. WHOO, that was long. Let me know if you got any other questions!
